I just finished getting my bank information sent to the IRS. This was necessary because turbo tax gave me the option of getting a check instead of direct deposit. This was very tiring and frustrating, two hours of trying to do what they wanted me to do. This was the first time turbo tax has let me down. It will be hard in the future to recommend it to my friends.

I SPOKE WITH 5 TURBOTAX AGENTS TRYING TO CORRECT A PROBLEM OF NOT BEING ABLE TO EFILE. THERE WAS NO DATA ENTERED THAT SHOULD HAVE TRIGGERED THE PROBLEM. NO ONE COULD FIND A REASON FOR THE DENIAL. THE FIFTH AGENT, WHO THE OTHERS CALLED AN EXPERT, COULD NOT FIND A REASON FOR THE GLITCH EITHER. SO SHE DID A PROGRAM RE[LACEMENT WHICH SOLVED THE PROBLEM. ALL OF THE AGENTS WERE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS, COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

The questions in this software are often confusing and sometimes use double negatives, making them difficult to interpret even for a highly educated user. Instead of simplifying tax filing, the wording can feel unnecessarily complex and counterintuitive. In many cases, I found it easier to understand tax guidance from AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude than from the software itself. For a product meant to make taxes more accessible, the clarity of the questions needs significant improvement. I had to re-enter my entire tax return after the software accidentally overwrote my file with my son's return. This was extremely frustrating and created unnecessary risk and wasted time. On top of that, it feels like a poor user experience to be charged an additional $25 just to e-file a state return after already spending significant time preparing everything. Overall, the software is not as reliable or user-friendly as expected for something this important.

I do not like the changes to the interface for doing the 1099-B, 1099DIV, 1099INT. I do not like having to continually loopback to the download page for each form. There has got to be a better way to do downloads from financial institutions. I did everything manually. The import process from financial institutions is clunky.

I am a statutory employee, receiving a W-2. The W-2 showed both the employee amount plus on line 11 the same amount as a non-qualified plan amount. Turbo tax entered both amounts into the tax form. First, the line 1 amount correctly went into the Schedule C. The non-qualified amount then went into Other Income. So the income was doubled. Therefore I have just completed an amended form 1040X to correct the over-taxation. This problem continues in the 2023 and 2024 Turbo Tax programs. I must next amend them.

I find that TurboTax software is becoming less user friendly. Explanations are using terms geared more towards tax professionals than to everyday Americans. I'm fairly intelligent so I know I can find the information elsewhere, but for the people that don't understand as easily or are intimidated by less colloquial vocabulary, this program won't be helpful.

TurboTax 2025 is just awful. It is essentially the same interface from the past 10 years, but with updates to SOME of the requirements. But Intuit no longer puts effort into keeping TT up to date. It does not address important tax issues. The help is non-existent - unless you pay more. They try to nickel and dime you on every decision. This is absolutely my last year with TurboTax. It has been degrading for the past 3-5 years, but this is the WORST.

In past years, it didn't matter how many times I went into Turbo Tax to continue my returns without having to use another license. This year, every time I went in to continue my returns, I have to use another license! So now, I either have to do my taxes all in one sitting, or I have to buy more than one Turbo Tax program! Rip off!

I have been using for 20+ years. All excellent. I don't know what happened to the 2025 version. Full of changes causing glitches; I answered all questions and the answers were not populated on certain Forms 8606. The IRA/RMD calculations were not clear, etc., etc. It took me more than twice as long to be able to complete and finish. I was not a happy camper. Did Intuit respond nationally to explain what happened? I am wondering if 2026 will be the same. I may be trying out another service if Intuit doesn't explain what happened to all it's users. Thank you.

I didn't like the idea that I was turbotax was trying to force me to use the online method, and always trying to sell me more than I needed. The trouble trying to continue a return when Turbotax always wanted to start a new return instead. I will concider a different program next year.
