I think TurboTax is an easy way to fill up your income tax. The only issue I found is that it misguided me to do both federal and state return online for $0; when I was almost done, it required me to pay about $64 to file both; I had already paid $50 something for the program.

Social Security and Pension areas were not readily available, I had to use the help menu for guidance. Schedule C was also difficult to get to. I will be ready next year to move faster now that I have familiarized myself with the program...if I remember how to find them next year.

I found this years confusing. I struggled with the Medical part. When you turn 65 thru part of a year it needs to be a drop down whether this causes a problem or penalty. If I didn't have to use Cov Ca all year I should not be penalized the cost all year or even based on a full year income. That part was hard to understand. Property taxes also most pay a year but it is over a 2 year period. Like July 25 to July 26, yet your instructions don't address that like should I divide in half? Then also I do my mom's returns and since she never owes happy to use Efile, i do not want to efile State since cost $25 for no refund is stupid. I click free efile for feds but then it talks about cost for state and I am afraid if I click yes for efile feds I am going to get stuck paying to efile state when I do not want to. Clear that part up with options to efile only one.

Good program. Help is among the best I've experienced. One annoyance is that when saving then exiting, the temp file that starts with ~ does not close and seems to restrict working on the next TurboTax session. I've had to delete the file before continuing.

Turbo Tax is very convenient for us. Even though we have a very simple tax situation, the convenience and ability to save, print, carry info forward from previous years, and submission is the reason that we continue to use this application. 4 stars this year vs 5 because, State would not download. We needed to uninstall TurboTax and reinstall to get the state app to download. Once we figured this out, all worked well.

After an online update, the program became unusable due to Error Code 70001. I had to call tech support and the wait time was over 20 minutes, which seemed too long to me. I did all sorts of trouble shooting, like clearing the cache, rebooting several times, clearing Task manager nad the like. Ultimatley, had to uninstall and re-install the whole program to get it working again. Most annoying. Some online research revealed this has been a know issue for several years now and Intuit has yet to fix it!!!! Shame on them...

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've had my tax return rejected due to missing data. Why wasn't it caught the first time? And what am I paying for if not convenience and accuracy? I was also charged twice for my state taxes. Once for $48, once for $25. It's high time we shut businesses down like yours that prey on consumers. Over $100 to have taxes done inaccurately.

Everything was OK until end review and submittal. I was stuck in a loop. I continued to get a message stating that my occupation line on Alabama work sheet had too many characters, but it would NOT let me make changes. I tried several different methods but still haven' been able to submit my state taxes yet.

The estimated taxes section is poor. As a starting point, it should copy all of the information needed from the year just ended to help make estimates for the new year. Trying to guess the information without the new return in front of you is wasteful and error prone. After updating the estimate taxes, the voucher forms have a non-removable watermark "Form Not Final. Do not file", even though the updated forms are correct and the initial set of vouchers was bad and the return was already filed. The foreign tax section and form 1116 is also poor. The program provides little guidance and the interface is problematic. After all of the years, it seems like TurboTax could improve their software.

i HAVE BEEN USING THE TURBO TAX SOFTWARE FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND AM QUITE SATISFIED WITH THE EASE OF USE. I CONSIDER MYSELF A NOVICE TAX PREPARER AND WITH TURBO TAX, I DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ACCURACY AS IT PROVIDES SO MUCH GUIDANCE AND INSTRUCTIONS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS. TURBO TAX HAS SIMPLIFIED MY LIFE.
