Entering RMD's and QCD's was quite difficult. I replied Yes to knowing I am subject to RMD's and I entered my required amount. There was NOT a direct question asking if you had QCD's - I finally answered a random question about inheriting a Traditional IRA that led me to entering QCD's. It never asked me if I took all of my RMD!!! It would have been nice since there is a 25% penalty for the amount you don't take. Turbo Tax found an error with the QCD and was ZERO help in fixing the problem. I'm still not sure how I fixed it! Entering new 1099-INT's was difficult until I finally figured out their new format for doing it. Doing my Arizona taxes was, again, difficult - just a bunch of questions up front that didn't make any sense! This is the 2nd year in a row that I couldn't file my state return electronically.

It was very confusing when I payed for and downloaded the desktop version, but a large box appears that says continue to online. With a small text that says stay on desktop. I did my whole return without realizing this and when it would not file; that's when it became clear. Please fix that. If someone purchases the desk top let them continue on the desktop version.

Overall, I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. I use the desktop version through a download. I think help topics need to be a little more robust. Maybe some real-life examples could be included so that a user can understand the concept. The help at time is too much legal ease.

The software worked well. Although when I was doing the state return (VT) I was doing the Property Tax Credit section and it never brought up the screen to enter information from my tax bill. Only when I clicked check for errors did it tell me I missed a whole section and could then enter the information.

We like using TurboTax, have been using it for years. This year, though, it was very irritating that every time we went to a new topic, it tried to get us to download or import info from somewhere else, even though we said at the beginning of the section we did not want to download or import any information. This was very irritating and time-wasting. If we say we don't want to import anything, then leave it at that!

It took some searching to find out how to process NY states 2025 inflation refund check as a 1099-G within the tax software. Turbo Tax is usually good, but this topic was not clear. Also, When doing my state taxes, Turbo Tax showed the state of Rhode Island when I only do taxes for New York State and never selected Rhode Island. I found that a little disconcerting since Turbo Tax is generally very stable software.

I was able to purchase it and install it easily. The instructions were fairly straight forward. The nagware to hire your experts was beyond annoying. The charge for submitting the state return is obfuscated to suggest that it might be free. Of course it's not. No opportunity to weasel a few more dollars is overlooked.

tax prep was smooth and easy but got into an endless loop when trying to e-file the CA state. it indicated my $25 payment did not go through. It thought it needed to download the state taxes again but it already had. Only solution I could find in the help was to go through a long process of completely removing Turbotax as administrator and re-installing. Such a huge disappointment! Very worried that next return I do will run into same problem.

The product is buggy and the amount of upselling is obnoxious. The first time I attempted to do my taxes I got to the end and the program crashed without saving everything. I had to do my taxes entirely over again. Half of the 1099 div/int forms I tried to use didn't work. At every opportunity Turbotax trys to funnel you into spending more money. When you say no, it wastes your time asking why you said no. I will never use turbotax again.
