Great coffee, questionable quality control.

I love the ease and taste of the coffee. My criticism is that the carafe leaks from the black collar onto the counter. Also I noticed the clock had changed auto brew by an hour...turns out the clock gains two minutes over each 24 hour period. I'm hoping this is just a fluke and not a pervasive issue. I will contact customer service tomorrow so let's see how Cuisinart stands behind their products, I've always held them in a positive light. 🤞

Fantastic to wake up to a delicious cup 'o joe

I received this as a (requested) gift. It's been about 3 weeks now and I'm very happy with it. Simple to use and the resulting coffee is great! Cleanup is easy, pretty much as any other coffee maker is. I do use the supplied gold filter to gain as much flavor as possible. For folks that use paper filters, try the gold mesh filter and you'll be surprised how much flavor the paper filters remove. Point is, paper is easier cleanup but the gold filter is worth the extra cleaning effort. Bean grinding sound is like any other bean grinder, fairly noisy. It functions well, grinding exactly what's needed for the specified number of cups. I experimented with the strength setting, just for comparison purposes and there is a noticeable difference between settings. While I can't predict the service life of this coffee maker, it appears to be well made and I expect it to last for a long time.

Good coffee maker with lid issues

Purchased as a replacement for similar Cuisinart coffee maker with stainless carafe. Replaced due to a problem with the lid/pour spout. Leaked badly and got tired of fooling with it. This coffee maker is identical except for this one has the glass carafe and is 12 cups rather than 10. The good is it grinds and brews nicely. The bad is this lid will not snap in place, thus you have to hold it with your thumb so it does not fall off while pouring. Unlikely to purchase another Cuisinart. Quality Control is not to acceptable standards and I do not want to go through more aggravation like I did with the last problem. Have not had long enough to attest to longevity.

Great coffee machine

Very good product. Great tasting coffee. Easy to use; except one finicky behavior. If you grind the coffee the night before (which I do so the loud grinding won’t wake the wife up in the morning) then start the coffee in the morning with no grind, it typically won’t start. Simple fix is to hit the button on the side to open the filter holder, then close it, it will then start.

Some better features, but some not

I bought this to replace our original which lasted about 12 years. The new one arrived with a slight crack in the plastic housing on the right front side (pretty weak housing design caused I think by a decorative "crease" on the sides of the machine?) which hasn't so far affected the performance. The coffee pot is larger than the old one and is a little unwieldy to handle, plus it has a tendency to leak a little at the edges of the spout. Also, you have to make sure the pot is pushed all the way in, because it may feel like it's in place, but it isn't. On the plus side, the new one has integrated the filter basket and filter basket cover, so there's one less piece to mess with. Also a plus - the redesigned coffee hopper is much better at ensuring the coffee flows towards the grinder. It still makes a very good cup of coffee, so we'll keep it.

Better basket design, not the best brew

This was a warranty replacement for the previous generation model, the DGB-1400BCPC, that was defective. This model has design improvements with the way the ground coffee is delivered from the grinder to the basket that is much better than the DGB-1400BCPC design. The downside is that the maximum number of cups of you can choose to grind is 12, which is the size of the pot. This does not give you enough flexibility if you're trying to make 12 cups of coffee stronger than the grind control allows. Selecting the strongest grind does not brew our coffee as strong as the previous model, so we have to choose to grind 12 cups of coffee at the strongest grind selection, but only brew about 10 1/4 cups. Still, at this combination of choices, the coffee isn't as good as the DGB-1400BCPC. We have tried other combinations of choices and amount of cups to brew, but this is the closest.

Why change a good thing?

After using for about 5 days starting making weak coffee. The strength setting was the same, same beans , same amount of water. Now just making 10 cups of water with 12 cups setting on machine. We had the discontinued dgb900 with insulated carafe for years that made perfect coffee. Hate they changed it …

Ccuisinart model DGB-800

I bought this Cuisinart on March 14, 2025 just 2 weeks ago to replace my other Cuisinart that had an electrical malfunction. I can't say that I'm happy with it..no matter what I do the coffee is weak. I prefer my older model that I could control the amount of beans and grind.

High quality build & a tasty brew

I’m incredibly happy with this coffee maker! My Bonsen Kitchen burr grinder coffee maker had been leaking for a while & after years of use, I researched this Cuisinart model & decided to give it a shot. I’m particularly impressed with the build quality & faultless functionality. A lot of thought has gone into the design, from the ease of use with the filter basket compartment to the grind-off feature. You can stop the grind with a press of a button if you feel it’s enough for your batch & the brew cycle just picks up form there. There’s a couple fool proof alert features if you forget to replace the filter or fill the reservoir before brewing. The seal seems tight in the bean container & the carafe hasn’t spilled during a pour once. Minimal drips on the heating plate when pouring that first cup before the brew cycle finishes & you don’t have to worry about the heating plate turning off before you’ve finished with the pot. Just enough settings to configure & intuitive to figure out how. Overall very pleased & hope to use this for years to come!

Brew strength.

I’m enjoying having the grinder and coffee maker in one. I enjoy a full bodied dark roast brew. In order to achieve the taste I prefer, I must set the number of cups to one step above the water quantity. Otherwise I’m very pleased so far with this coffee maker.
