I have great things to say about this car seat! I've noticed that the backseat of my car does not have very good air flow (especially for a rear-facing child) and while I'm riding comfortably with AC blasting, I notice my child is sweaty when arriving at our final destination. This always presents a challenge: do I crank the AC and freeze myself out, or keep the car at a moderate temperature and hope my child doesn't mind the sweaty hair? This car seat provides the solution with the built-in fans and automated sensors to turn on and off when optimal temperatures are reached. The look of the car seat is stylish and relatively slim, although to incorporate the fans, the head rest is large and bulky, but my child didn't mind. I really appreciate that this seat can grow with my little one, and while I didn't need to use this for an infant, the pillows provided were firm and looked like they would have been extremely supportive for this function. A few design features that I think could make this a 100% winning seat are in relation to the cord and fan features. The cord is nice and long to allow it to reach the front seat in my car; however, in larger vehicles, or if using this in a third row, the cord would be unlikely to reach any power. I tried following instructions to keep the cord out of the way by tucking it under the seat, but in the rear facing position, it still has to drape and makes a second child crawling under it to their seat more challenging. A channel within the seat to hide the cord would be ideal. The power for this is also only a 12V; however, having this run-on USB power would have been more ideal. Adjusting the height positions on this seat was more challenging than I'm used to, but it was just something I had to adjust to. This car seat is markedly more plush than other car seats I've purchased in the past, which makes me feel it's more comfortable for my child. Unfortunately I received this car seat in a cold weather season and haven't seen the fan system activate yet, but I'm hopeful it improves my child's experience on the long road trips we take in summer. The cord is plenty long enough to plug into any cigarette charger port in my car. I like that the blue light should illuminate when the fans are activated, however I can't really see that since the seat is rear facing and it's tall enough to block any mirror I might want to use to monitor my child. The thickness of the seat padding and strap and buckle covers show this seat was designed for comfort. The seat pad hooks onto the bottom of the seat to stay in place, however this kind of got in the way when installing rear-facing. The seat pad also does not lift up very much due to the non-removable cup holders, which made install a bit frustrating when trying to ensure the belt was in the right place before tightening. I feel if I were installing the seat forward-facing, the install would have been an easier process. I've also experienced an issue of the shoulder straps not releasing or loosening well when unbuckling my child. They seem to get stuck at least 20% of the time, which is annoying for what is intended to be a luxury product. Overall, this car seat seems like it gives my child a luxury experience, particularly on longer trips. I'm confident that his comfort is a priority in this seat. I also appreciated the placement of the strap holders that make the process of buckling and unbuckling a breeze. The magnetic clasp of the chest clip is also convenient.

I really love how this car seat keeps my child cool. We live in a really hot climate so it is risky trying to cool the car down and feeling comfortable putting the kids in without worrying about if theyre going to overheat in their seats. Previously in an infant carried my daughter would be sweaty after crying and with this seat she has never been sweaty! It also automatically gauges when its warmer than 71 degrees and kicks the fans on automatically using three different fan speeds depending on how hot. The other great thing is if youre unsure if its working there is the blue light meaning its on OR you can also hear the fans working to reassure you your child is being cooled. Overall, love the seat and dont think I could purchase another seat without a fan system like this moving forward.

I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review. We received this car seat during the first week of December, and we live in Phoenix, Arizona. My daughter is almost 2, and I drive a small SUV. I mention all of that because I think one of the big draws of this car seat is the built in fans that it has. They are super quiet and a fantastic feature (today is December 7th, and it was an 80 degree day, so... yes please fans.). The cord is super long and easy to tie up. We threaded it up to my front dashand it stayed out of the way and tucked behind the passenger seat belt buckle without hassle. The switch ended up being right behind the passenger seat back, which makes it easy to reach in the back seat to toggle. I have a car that turns off the engine when it idles, and that made the fans turn off. Just FYI that they might not be consistently running if you are a momma that has to wait with your car parked in a school pick up line for an older kiddo. Really nice to see 2 cup holders and a lot of additional features to make baby comfortable. If we received this car seat when my daughter was an infant, it would have been really nice to use the extra padding that is provided for smaller babies -- way more removable pieces than other convertible car seats. A few cons that we did not enjoy when trying out this car seat: - the harness buckle across the chest is designed to be easier to manage (i think it has a magnet component), but it's actually a bit cumbersome to clip with a squirmy toddler. - the buckle part that's right between the legs gets covered by the padding really easily, so it's hard to get it to click since it slides around. - the cup holders are actually really small. They won't hold a 12 oz yeti bottle. - install is a PAIN. There is not a level, just a line that you're supposed make parallel to the seat. - pro and con on the padding; hard to get baby in unless the car door opening is huge.

I want to love this car seat so bad but it is just so big!! Upon opening the box, there is no instruction manual on how to install, features of the car seat, etc. I had to go on the web to figure out how to install the seat. It seemed pretty simple, but I struggled with getting it tight enough to not wiggle around. I had to scoot my passenger seat all the way up and also lift the back of the seat in order to get it to fit and be level. For reference, I have a Chevy Tahoe. The fan system is really cool and unlike anything I've ever seen. I'm very hopeful that it will keep my little guy cool in the hot Texas summers. Fingers crossed! The material and fabric seems very comfy and high quality. The inserts that were included were also great quality, but we didn't need to use them. I especially love the magnetic chest closure because it makes getting my son in and out an absolute breeze! The cup holders are great for snacks and drinks and he can easily reach them on his own. I'm excited to continue to use it, but may have to switch out if we use my car for long rides as the passenger seat will be too squished. Absolutely love this seat! The fans work really well and keep my baby cool and content in his seat unlike any other seat I have owned. The fabric is very breathable while still being soft and the seat is very lightweight, making it easy to travel with and transfer between cars. Highly recommend!

The Maxi-Cosi Pria Chill car seat is a great option if you live somewhere that gets hot! The breathable, chemical flame retardant free fabric is lovely, and the fans combined with the mesh really keep kiddo cooler in the car. Fans are automatic, but you can turn off the feature with a switch too. I prefer this seat for a larger baby despite it saying it can fit 4lbs and up. For an infant I found that the infant insert pads slide down and make it difficult to tighten the straps properly. The chest clip is also quite oversized for a small infant. The seat is also tricky to angle properly for a newborn and makes install tough. For a larger baby the magnetic easy in-out chest clip is awesome, as are the strap holders. The removable dishwasher safe cup holders are amazing and the seat is easy to clean overall. It looks really nice in the car, but is a better fit for a larger vehicle. Overall I really like this seat for ease of use, especially for toddlers-preschool age kids. I would personally look at something else if you want a single birth through booster seat, or drive a compact car.

This is a great car seat. The Vent Max technology has been a game changer for us. We live in Arizona, and this summer has been very hot. Knowing my girl is getting air is such a relief as she is still rear facing. The fabric is very breathable, and remains cool even though it stays in the car. I haven't used the cup holders, but they are very nice to have once my girl gets bigger. The magnetic chest clip is easy to use, and belts are easy to adjust. My baby seems to be very comfortable in the seat, and happy. The sound of the fans is just enough to let you know they are on, but not annoying. I also like that there is an indicator light, but it isn't too bright. I would definitely recommend this car seat to anyone looking for a convertible seat for their little one. I am so excited to continue to use it as she grows and turns front facing!

This Maxi-Cosi Pria car seat is top notch when it comes to comfort for your little one. We are using the car seat reverse facing for a 1 1/2 year old. She LOVES getting in this car seat which is a small miracle in itself if you have ever tried to wrangle a toddler into a car seat when they don't want to get in said car seat. First with car seat installation - very easy, the plug adapter for the built in cooling system is easy to plug into the seat. I will say the only downside is you have a cord dangling from the car seat to the outlet when you use it. If you don't wish to use it, you can detach the cord completely. This car seat is NOT for small/compact cars. We are using it in a Chevy Silverado and there is room but it is a very large seat. It did not fit in our Audi Q5. Second for comfort - this car seat has so much padding and cushion that it makes me wish it came in adult sizing. Much of the padding is removable so that if it is your child's way you can adjust. The shoulder straps do come off easily which is great for washing but also kind of annoying that they aren't very secured onto the straps and easy to lose. Ours ended up on the floor boards day one. The single best feature of the straps/harness is the chest clip. It is magnetic and almost magical. It clips securely and is also too difficult for a child to release which is peace of mind as they all try to fidget with the clips. The cooling system is so luxurious combined with the mesh material especially if you have a hot rider. Our little one is ALWAYS sweaty after car rides, but not in this seat. I will be so happy/relieved to have this in the summer months for her. The dual cup holders are nice, and I anticipate this being a great car seat to grow into as it can transition through many stages.
