I really love this car seat. This will be our third Maxi-Cosi car seat (in three kids) and I've had nothing but good experiences with this brand. This new Maxi-Cosi Pria™ Chill has all the things I love about my original Pria™ (comfortable padding, high safety rating, good quality materials) and adds some great features like a magnetic chest clip, built-in strap holders, breathable fabric, and ventilation fans. We moved to South Carolina last year and the summer heat is no joke. "Hot" is my 2 year old's #1 complaint in the car, so this fan system is such a useful feature for us! I found this seat to be easy to install both rear facing and front-facing. The LATCH clips are easy-release and the straps are simple to route through when making adjustments. And, if any challenges or hiccups arise during install, Maxi-Cosi offers a virtual car seat appointment to get questions answered and provide peace of mind for a proper install. Once I got it installed, I routed the fan cord down the front of the seat, under the floor mat, and up to the center console to plug in. It was really easy to tuck away. My favorite feature is the magnetic chest clip. It makes buckling and unbuckling super easy without sacrificing a feeling of security - it clicks on tight! It did take me a few tries to get good at the unclipping, but now it comes easily. Overall, this is the same high-quality seat that I know and love from Maxi-Cosi with some added "cool" features that make life easier - a total win for me! Of note, I'm a NICU nurse so I am very familiar with fitting newborns in car seats and it is NOT an easy thing to do in some brands/models. The Pria™ Chill is recommended down to 4lbs and I feel confident that the provided newborn inserts would make this possible, so this seat could be used from the very first ride home from the hospital. This car seat is wonderful quality: from the VentMax technology cooling system down to the cozy fabric. You'll never want a car seat without the fan technology once you try it and it keeps your baby comfortable, especially during hot summers! The magnetic chest clip is so easy to clip baby in and out. There are different pillows/cushions available depending on the age-size of your baby and it's easy to remove the ones you don't need or they grow out of. It's easy to change the recline position depending on which you need. The only dislikes I had about this car seat is I wish there was a shade attachment to help keep the sun out and I wish there was an attachment like an adjustable arch to hang toys from to keep baby entertained during car rides. Other than that, this car seat is amazing and a game changer! I would highly recommend this car seats to other parents!

I received this carseat as part of the Stellar Panel to supply honest feedback. Being a STM I have to compare with what I know from my previous child which is the very popular G brand. The install was very similar...I wouldn't say EASY, but it wasn't ridiculously difficult. Hubs felt the adjustable headrest handle was not as smooth/easy to raise and lower as the G brand, but not bad. The material/fabric does feel plush/luxurious compared to the other brand, but I miss the liquid level. I feel like I'm more eyeballing it with this one. Now the magnetic chest clip is awesome! But for some reason the clip holders on the sides don't seem to be working for me (which was one of the cool features of this carseat that I was looking forward to....to hold the clip/straps aside while you get baby in). I also find that the finger control to loosen the straps is a little more awkward than G brand. Now the main feature of this carseat is the built in fan. As you can see from my pictures it plugs into your 12v which Im lucky to have behind my center console not far from the car seat (I would not have liked it if I had to string wires all the way to the front of the car). Since I live in a state where you have to bring your own shopping bags I cover the cord with my bag of bags as shown (to prevent my older child from pulling it out when he's climbing into the back seat). It's winter here so only a few opportunities to see the fan at work (when the heat was blasting in the car). It kicks on automatically when it detects a certain temperature. I personally feel it's a little loud but it didn't seem to disturb my sleeping baby. As a slightly anxious person I kinda worry about electricity and the carseat though I know it's passed safety tests...so not sure if I really need this feature...but ask me again in July when its a million degrees outside and I may think differently. Overall its a well-made car seat that seems luxurious and my baby seems to like it. ??

I loved this car seat so much its very comfortable has air that circulates through it keeping your child nice and cool during hot days easily plugs into cigarette lighter plug and turns on and off as necessary it has great straps and harness very easy to use and keeps your child secure only thing I didn't care for is my cigarette plug is up front in my car and it got in my way with the cord to the car seat other then that it's high quality and super nice best car seat ever.

The Maxi-Cosi Pria Chill car seat is the most innovative one that I have seen on the market. I LOVE the addition of the air vents, which is the reason why I wanted to use it. Upon using it, I loved the fact that the car seat was lightly colored, had air vents with multiple speeds, and has plush breathable fabric that keeps baby cool in the car seat in the summer. Before using this car seat, I struggled with keeping my baby cool in a car without ceiling vents. The biggest downside to this car seat is the fact that the chest clip does not stay in place. I have 2 other car seat models from different brands that do not have this issue. The chest clip on the Maxi-Cosi Pria Chill seat slides down so easily that it often rests on top of the crotch clip - an extremely unsafe position for baby. The chest clip slides so easily that my toddler is able to do it with one hand and figure out how to get his arms outside of the straps. If this feature was fixed, I would 100% recommend this car seat.

She's big, she's plush, she's cool, and she's safe. She's a fantastic car seat. Let's break it down. She's definitely big. I wouldn't recommend this car seat for a compact vehicle. I have a large SUV, and it takes up every bit of the seating space. The seat is on the heavier side and my child sits up higher in Maxi-Cosi Pria compared to other brands. She's plush. The seat padding is next level and the color combo with the small leather details is perfect. The seat comes with an assortment of additional padding, but the instructions lack explanation on how to correctly use them. Is there a height and weight requirement? I don't know. Shout out to Maxi-Cosi for making the cup holders not only removable, but dishwasher safe. There is nothing more disgusting than a toddler's cup holders. So thank you for that. She's cool. The Maxi-Cosi Pria's cooling feature is outstanding. No more sweaty babies, especially in rear facing. I can't wait to put this element to the full test this summer in the California heat. Connecting the car seat was super simple. The small cord fit under the floor mat, and then I ran it in between the seats to reach the plug. It's well hidden. Oh, did I mention it's quiet? She's safe. This car seat holds a 4-100lb child. That might be the best feature of the seat. For me, a long-term rear-facing seat is so important. This seat maxes out at 40 lbs for rear facing! The Pria Chill gives clear install instructions and the option to speak with a Maxi-Cosi certified tech for any installation questions. The installation went smoothly. I like the magnetic chest clip. The side harness hooks are a helpful-added detail. However, I don't love the lower buckle cover. It's very bulky and impedes the clips if it slides down. My chief complaint would be the lack of information Maxi-Cosi provides about the cooling feature such as at what temperature does it turn on. If you live in the south, you need this seat. My kids sweat so bad in the car, and the fans keep their back completely sweat free. My vehicle does not turn the fan off on it's own so I do manually turn the fans on and off. The fabric alone is better than the other Maxi-Cosi seat I own, providing additional air flow. The cup holders are useless for us, neither of the kids water bottles fit unfortunately. The magnetic closer is a breeze to get baby strapped in, which I love! There is no bubble level indicator on the size which is a downside for me, I can't figure out how to get this seat completely level in rear facing mode without reclining it more which would result in moving my front seat further up which doesn't give much leg room for a passenger. I needed my husbands strength to get the seat tightened into the car, I could not pull the straps for the latch system at all. This seat is also much lighter than my other Max-cosi seat, not sure if that is a good or bad thing, just feels a little bit cheaper.

I have great things to say about this car seat! I've noticed that the backseat of my car does not have very good air flow (especially for a rear-facing child) and while I'm riding comfortably with AC blasting, I notice my child is sweaty when arriving at our final destination. This always presents a challenge: do I crank the AC and freeze myself out, or keep the car at a moderate temperature and hope my child doesn't mind the sweaty hair? This car seat provides the solution with the built-in fans and automated sensors to turn on and off when optimal temperatures are reached. The look of the car seat is stylish and relatively slim, although to incorporate the fans, the head rest is large and bulky, but my child didn't mind. I really appreciate that this seat can grow with my little one, and while I didn't need to use this for an infant, the pillows provided were firm and looked like they would have been extremely supportive for this function. A few design features that I think could make this a 100% winning seat are in relation to the cord and fan features. The cord is nice and long to allow it to reach the front seat in my car; however, in larger vehicles, or if using this in a third row, the cord would be unlikely to reach any power. I tried following instructions to keep the cord out of the way by tucking it under the seat, but in the rear facing position, it still has to drape and makes a second child crawling under it to their seat more challenging. A channel within the seat to hide the cord would be ideal. The power for this is also only a 12V; however, having this run-on USB power would have been more ideal. Adjusting the height positions on this seat was more challenging than I'm used to, but it was just something I had to adjust to. Overall, I would recommend this car seat if you are looking for a nice option to keep your kiddos cool! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this all in one car seat.

This car seat is markedly more plush than other car seats I've purchased in the past, which makes me feel it's more comfortable for my child. Unfortunately I received this car seat in a cold weather season and haven't seen the fan system activate yet, but I'm hopeful it improves my child's experience on the long road trips we take in summer. The cord is plenty long enough to plug into any cigarette charger port in my car. I like that the blue light should illuminate when the fans are activated, however I can't really see that since the seat is rear facing and it's tall enough to block any mirror I might want to use to monitor my child. The thickness of the seat padding and strap and buckle covers show this seat was designed for comfort. The seat pad hooks onto the bottom of the seat to stay in place, however this kind of got in the way when installing rear-facing. The seat pad also does not lift up very much due to the non-removable cup holders, which made install a bit frustrating when trying to ensure the belt was in the right place before tightening. I feel if I were installing the seat forward-facing, the install would have been an easier process. I've also experienced an issue of the shoulder straps not releasing or loosening well when unbuckling my child. They seem to get stuck at least 20% of the time, which is annoying for what is intended to be a luxury product. Overall, this car seat seems like it gives my child a luxury experience, particularly on longer trips. I'm confident that his comfort is a priority in this seat. I also appreciated the placement of the strap holders that make the process of buckling and unbuckling a breeze. The magnetic clasp of the chest clip is also convenient.

This car seat stands out for its premium-feeling and breathable fabric. I love that the fabric is light enough in color that it won't get super hot on sunny days, but still grey and dark enough that it won't show every speck of dirt either. It has a nice feeling to it and the parts of the car seat where your baby or toddler will be most nestled in are mesh, so that they will still cool. My little guy tends to run very hot so I think that especially in the warmer months, this will be a game changer for him. Of course the coolest feature of them all on this car seat is the built in fan and "chill" factor. Unfortunately it is December right now so I have not had a chance to really test this meaningfully, but it seems like it'll be extremely useful come spring and summer. My little one seems very comfortable in it. In terms of other features, I love the double cupholders. Adjustability seems on par with other car seats of a similar price point-- no need to rethread the harness which is great. I don't love how the chest buckle works because it's a little tricky to do one handed, but my biggest gripe is that there is nowhere on the sides of the car seat to insert the straps/buckles to hold them outwards. Some car seats have little pockets you can tuck the straps and/or buckles into so that they don't get in the way when you are putting your kiddo in-- this helps so that you don't have to then dig the straps/buckles out from under them. I think this is a big oversight at this price point personally. However, I think if you have a little one who runs hot, this is a really innovative car seat that will keep them a lot more comfortable than any other I've seen.
