I was given this all in one car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We currently use the seat as a forward facing seat with my 4.5 year old daughter. The seat feels and looks sturdy. The material is beautiful. The fabric is soft, but breathable, and very comfortable for my daughter, who can be a tough critic when it comes to "itchy" material. We know from experience, this brand has easy to clean carseat material! Removable dishwasher safe cup holders are great! The harness holders are also very helpful. We have not had to use the additional inserts/padding meant for a smaller child, but you can tell they are comfortable and easy to take on and off. The installation process was easy enough with great picture instructions and easy to follow steps. My only challenge was putting the seatbelt through the openings. It's a small opening and the plastic can feel sharp as you are trying to pass the belt through. When we first installed the seat it seemed too loose. We reinstalled and got it to feel more secure. It does say that the seat can move up to 1 inch. The headrest was easy to adjust and raise. The magnetic chest clip seems high quality and very secure. My daughter said she was comfortable and she looked it! She can often complain about feeling uncomfortable or too hot in her seat (even in the winter), and we haven't heard a peep yet. The power cord for the cooling feature was easy to use— it plugs into the back of the seat and we have it routed to the front center console. It's long enough that you could easily lay it flat and easily step over it. The on/off switch is easy to use and the indicator light by the headrest helps you know that it is on. Overall: We love the look of this seat! know it's a high quality safe seat for our family. We were able to install it with little frustration. We are eager to use the cooling feature more often in the summer. We also love that this seat can be used for years to come!

My toddler and I are very thankful to Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this cool (pun intended) seat! My little guy runs quite warm, and my car doesn't have rear air vents, so I'm very excited to have integrated fans that will help him stay cool in the summer. He finds the seat to be very comfortable, and has an easier time getting in and out of it than our previous seat. The seat is very cushy, and includes very soft, extra cushioning for smaller infants. I love how easy it is to remove the cup holders and seat pad for washing, as well as the feel and quality of the materials used. The power cord is slim and unobtrusive, and the positioning on the back of the seat means no little grabby hands will get to it! The seat does ride high, which my toddler loves, but is a bit of a visual blocker in my Honda Fit hatchback. I found adjusting it tough, because it's a bit stiff, but I assume it'll become easier with time. I also struggled to get the seat installed with the LATCH tethers (my preferred method of install), and the lack of a bubble level at this price point seems like an oversight. The lack of bubble level, and the fact that I've only used rigid LATCH in the past, meant that getting a tight, level fit was tough until I had my virtual installation appointment. I learned exactly how to navigate installation smoothly, and because the seat is so light, moving it between cars and reattaching everything will be a breeze now that I know what to do. My favorite feature of the seat is the magnetic, quick release chest clip; it honestly feels revolutionary and I can't believe I was missing out on such an easy to use safety clip. Overall, I'm not in love with the seat - yet. My toddler is very happy, though, and I know that this will be a big win during our hot California summers, so I'm sure I will grow to love the seat with time.

I really like the color scheme, and it has a very cushy and comfortable seat. and side impact protection. It is amazingly lightweight! It was easy to install, and the cooling system was very simple to set up and get plugged in. It's currently wintertime where we live, so we haven't been able to test it out yet, but I think it will be a really excellent feature in the hot summer months! It's easy to adjust the seat's recline positions, especially compared to the other convertible car seat we own of a different brand. The no-rethread harness adjustment handle feels kind of cheap and plastic-y and isn't super easy to engage, but it moves smoothly once you're able to actually squeeze the handle. The carseat manual says that when the seat is installed rear facing, it should be touching the vehicle's seat in front of it, if possible. This is not possible in our vehicle unless it's fully reclined, which would not be comfortable for an older infant or toddler. I always want to install a car seat with the ideal position, but I wasn't able to in this case. I absolutely love the magnetic chest clip feature! I think it's brilliant. To be honest, it does feel a bit cheaply made and that struck me as concerning initially. But I know car seats have to pass rigorous safety testing, so it must be fine and secure. I love the concept, and how it functions; I just wish it felt a little more well-made. The seat also come with magnets on the side of the sear that are supposed to hold the shoulder straps open when the seat isn't in use, but they don't work at all. They hardly even seem magnetic at all. I'm not sure why this super simple feature, that could be very handy, failed. After testing the car sat for a few months I'll give this a 4 out of 5 stars. Overall the car seat is aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean when those messes happen. The magnetic chest strap made it super easy to clip one handed. You can pull and adjust without climbing in the car! I found the air fan comforting for my child when he needed a car nap. The air fan was nice to have on hot days but not sure it made a difference in cooling him down than the air did. I gave 4 starts since its easy to clean and the looks is nice.

It's a very luxurious carseat: from the plush, breathable fabrics to the ventmax cooling technology feature. But it isn't without its flaws. Pros: 1. The plush, breathable fabrics. Machine washable. 2. Harness clip- it's magnetic. The magnetic clip (pull off toward me NOT up) was so easy to use. 3. Ventmax- such a great tech feature especially for the summer. It can be switched on-off. The noise level is perfect (white noise). 4. All-in-one: Can be used as an infant seat to a booster. Rear facing weight is up to 40 lbs! 5. 2 Cup holders dishwasher safe. Cons: 1. Difficult installation. 2. Ventmax: You need to have an accessory port to plug into. 4. Crotch buckle: I had no issue with this feature during rear facing, but with forward facing install, I noticed that the crotch buckle kept slipping down. Overall: Great carseat. Luxurious quality of the fabrics- makes for a comfortable kid. The ventmax cooling tech is awesome to keep your kid cool and comfortable especially in the hot summer. Install was difficult and long. but it's great to be able to have a carseat for all ages.

We tried the Maxi-Cosi Pria Chill car seat with our newborn in July in the Midwest. We were excited to try it because our Honda Odyssey's a/c vents are in awkward spots and we worry about our rear-facing kids in car seats getting adequate cooling. The car seat looks plush, but is pretty bulky (I'm guessing partly because of the embedded fans?). I didn't find the install to be particularly easy in our Honda Odyssey's second row. The 3-levels of recline weren't enough to get the seat level to the ground for our newborn who can't sit up unassisted, so I had to use a pool noodle to recline the seat further. This made me feel like the seat was less secure, even though it passed the 1 inch of movement test. Once the seat was reclined sufficiently, it took up so much space that no one could ride in the front passenger seat. That said, once I was used to it, the seat was pretty easy to use and my newborn seemed comfortable and happy in it. For parents looking to use a convertible seat at birth, I'd make sure your stroller can be used with a newborn if you don't have a bucket seat. I'd also recommend double-checking the newborn's fit with the harness strap covers - they may need to be removed for the chest clip to fit properly and the straps to pass the pinch test. The fans turn on right away in hot weather and the indicator light makes it easy to see they're running. Although the fans make a little noise, it's unnoticeable over the road noise once you get going. I like that the harness and headrest adjust automatically and that a lot of little details are thought of - like making the cup holders easily removable for cleaning. I suspect we'll like this seat a lot more once we have an older infant that is outgrowing the infant bucket and doesn't need such a deep recline. It's probably great as a forward-facing seat. Overall, I would recommend this seat to parents living in warm climates who are looking for ways to keep their children comfortable in their car seats.

My overall impression of the car seat was very positive. I initially had some trouble locating where the power adapter attaches to the back of the car seat. Since my child is currently rear facing I didn't have any trouble routing the power cord. Unfortunately, since receiving the car seat the weather has been too cold to use the fan feature, but I am definitely looking forward to having a cool car seat in the summertime. Installing the car seat into the car was definitely more challenging than other car seats I have installed. My two favorite things about this car seat are the magnetic latch on the top harness and that it can go from rear-facing to forward facing as my child gets older. This car seat is wonderful quality: from the VentMax technology cooling system down to the cozy fabric. You'll never want a car seat without the fan technology once you try it and it keeps your baby comfortable, especially during hot summers! The magnetic chest clip is so easy to clip baby in and out. There are different pillows/cushions available depending on the age-size of your baby and it's easy to remove the ones you don't need or they grow out of. It's easy to change the recline position depending on which you need. The only dislikes I had about this car seat is I wish there was a shade attachment to help keep the sun out and I wish there was an attachment like an adjustable arch to hang toys from to keep baby entertained during car rides. Other than that, this car seat is amazing and a game changer! I would highly recommend this car seats to other parents!
