The Maxi-Cosi Pria Chill car seat is the most innovative one that I have seen on the market. I LOVE the addition of the air vents, which is the reason why I wanted to use it. Upon using it, I loved the fact that the car seat was lightly colored, had air vents with multiple speeds, and has plush breathable fabric that keeps baby cool in the car seat in the summer. Before using this car seat, I struggled with keeping my baby cool in a car without ceiling vents. The biggest downside to this car seat is the fact that the chest clip does not stay in place. I have 2 other car seat models from different brands that do not have this issue. The chest clip on the Maxi-Cosi Pria Chill seat slides down so easily that it often rests on top of the crotch clip - an extremely unsafe position for baby. The chest clip slides so easily that my toddler is able to do it with one hand and figure out how to get his arms outside of the straps. If this feature was fixed, I would 100% recommend this car seat.

Our toddler has constantly been complaining that she's too hot or cold. No more! I haven't heard a peep from her since we got this car seat. When I discovered the fans were only automatic, I thought there would still be complaints, but none so far. I love this seat. It's plush, comfy, and easy to get in and out of. The fabric is machine washable, and our little continues to say that this is the comfiest seat she's ever felt. The magnetic buckle is also amazing - quick and out of the way when getting in and out. The cup holders also come out and are dishwasher-safe. It's quick to install/uninstall using the LATCH system, though if you're moving seats around, you have to unthread the fan cord, too. I was worried the cord wouldn't be long enough because we need to plug it in in the front, but it was plenty long. The cord is under the floor mats, and it's easy to disconnect in the front. This has been helpful since the switch on the seat is hard to reach in forward-facing mode. The indicator light at the top of the seat is super helpful; it's easy to see from the rearview mirror yet not bothersome for tired kids in the back (though maybe red would have been a better choice than blue for night). It's been a good indicator for me to turn down the air when it comes on. We are using this seat in forward-facing mode, though I have to say, I think this is the first convertible car seat I would consider using for an infant. The inserts provided, coupled with the magnetic buckle that stays out of the way when putting a baby in, really make this an ideal choice if you are using a convertible seat with a baby. The only major downside is that we can only use this car seat for one child due to the 12V connector. I would also still like the option to manually turn on the fans even though I haven't needed to yet. I was given this car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, though if a future version has a rechargeable battery option, I will be purchasing more!

I was thankful to be chosen to test out this car seat free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. I love this car seat- the cooling fans are quiet yet effective, and I especially like that there is a visual indicator when it is functioning so I can tell with a quick glance whether or not my baby is benefiting from the enhanced airflow. The power cord isn't overly cumbersome, the seat itself is made of plush, comfortable fabrics, and the cover and cupholders are removable and easy to clean which is always a bonus! Adjustments were pretty seamlessly made due to the streamlined, no-fuss methods provided, and I don't think I can go back to non-magnetic chest clips now!

This car seat stands out for its premium-feeling and breathable fabric. I love that the fabric is light enough in color that it won't get super hot on sunny days, but still grey and dark enough that it won't show every speck of dirt either. It has a nice feeling to it and the parts of the car seat where your baby or toddler will be most nestled in are mesh, so that they will still cool. My little guy tends to run very hot so I think that especially in the warmer months, this will be a game changer for him. Of course the coolest feature of them all on this car seat is the built in fan and "chill" factor. Unfortunately it is December right now so I have not had a chance to really test this meaningfully, but it seems like it'll be extremely useful come spring and summer. My little one seems very comfortable in it. In terms of other features, I love the double cupholders. Adjustability seems on par with other car seats of a similar price point-- no need to rethread the harness which is great. I don't love how the chest buckle works because it's a little tricky to do one handed, but my biggest gripe is that there is nowhere on the sides of the car seat to insert the straps/buckles to hold them outwards. Some car seats have little pockets you can tuck the straps and/or buckles into so that they don't get in the way when you are putting your kiddo in-- this helps so that you don't have to then dig the straps/buckles out from under them. I think this is a big oversight at this price point personally. However, I think if you have a little one who runs hot, this is a really innovative car seat that will keep them a lot more comfortable than any other I've seen. We bought this a few months ago because our 2 year old was having heat issues in a normal car seat in the southern US. The Pria Chill was an instant night and day difference in comfort for our daughter and she went on and on about how “this seat keeps me cool”. She complains when she’s in another car seat now. The only complaint I have this that you can’t turn the fan on manually, it only runs when the sensor thinks it should. Our little one runs hot and has asked several times for us to turn the fan on because she’s warm but the car seat hasn’t decided it’s warm enough to run the fan yet and we have to explain to her that we can’t control the fan. The on/off switch in the power cable is only to turn the system on or off, not the fans themselves.

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this all in one car seat. This car seat is markedly more plush than other car seats I've purchased in the past, which makes me feel it's more comfortable for my child. Unfortunately I received this car seat in a cold weather season and haven't seen the fan system activate yet, but I'm hopeful it improves my child's experience on the long road trips we take in summer. The cord is plenty long enough to plug into any cigarette charger port in my car. I like that the blue light should illuminate when the fans are activated, however I can't really see that since the seat is rear facing and it's tall enough to block any mirror I might want to use to monitor my child. The thickness of the seat padding and strap and buckle covers show this seat was designed for comfort. The seat pad hooks onto the bottom of the seat to stay in place, however this kind of got in the way when installing rear-facing. The seat pad also does not lift up very much due to the non-removable cup holders, which made install a bit frustrating when trying to ensure the belt was in the right place before tightening. I feel if I were installing the seat forward-facing, the install would have been an easier process. I've also experienced an issue of the shoulder straps not releasing or loosening well when unbuckling my child. They seem to get stuck at least 20% of the time, which is annoying for what is intended to be a luxury product. Overall, this car seat seems like it gives my child a luxury experience, particularly on longer trips. I'm confident that his comfort is a priority in this seat. I also appreciated the placement of the strap holders that make the process of buckling and unbuckling a breeze. The magnetic clasp of the chest clip is also convenient.

I love this car seat! What makes it so different than other car seats is that it has Vent Max Technology. Fans are built-in that as the temperature rises, they will cut on and keep your baby cool and comfortable. The material is breathable, allowing air to flow. This Vent Max technology is powered thru your vehicles power port. This is an all-in-one car seat, the only one you will ever need. Fits babies from 4 lbs. up to 100 lbs. Definitely the best car seat that I have ever owned!

Overall this seat is a game changer for littles, especially on those hot summer days. It was a fairly easy install and the manual was extremely easy and helpful. It took a few attempts to make sure the seat was secure but after that it was smooth sailing. The fans are very easy to turn on and the indicator light is super helpful. I felt like it cooled off the seat very quickly and my baby fell asleep quickly and easily. The strap covers seemed to hinder a tight enough harness so I removed those early on. The only things I wish were different were the rear facing weight limit (40 lbs vs 50lbs), its a little larger than other seats and the fans arent able to be controlled (they sense the temperature and fluctuate between low, medium and high). Overall this is a fantastic seat! !

This seat is very comfy and keeps my son cool. The fans have different speeds and you do hear them, especially on the highest speed, but it is not bothersome in any way. I love that the cup holders come out so you can clean them well and I love the magnetic clip (my 3 year old daughter also thinks this is the coolest, she likes to do it herself). The cord sticks out some so I have to be careful not to knock it when Im putting things in-out of my trunk, but other than that I really like this car seat.
