I haven't tried the product long enough to comment on how it helps my guy and digestive system, but I can comment on the taste. I would definitely mix this with water as it goes down a lot easier. When I did a scoop in my mouth I did gag a bit. It wasn't a pleasant texture. When it was mixed with water, I did taste a slight vanilla hint, even though it says unflavored.
