The powder is tasteless so it can be poured directly into your mouth or added to any cold beverage (comes with a scoop). The first time I tried it, I poured it directly into my mouth. It was very dry, so I don't recommend taking it that way, it's much better when added to a beverage. I thought it would be great to add to my coffee in the morning, but the package says to not add to hot beverages as it can denature the product. I haven't been using it long enough to leave a review on the effectiveness of the product.
