We are really sorry to hear you had this experience with our Downy Rinse Laundry Odor Remover, Cool Cotton, Krystal. It must upsetting that the liquid did not entirely help with odor removal. We understand scent is very subjective, and we appreciate you providing us with this feedback, but this is definitely not the type of experience we want you to go through. Make sure rinse is being added to their machines rinse cycle, not during the wash cycle. Add to the softener drawer if that is an option or to the center agitator. Some machines have a fabric softener button that you need to push to activate the cycle. For a really tough malodor they are struggling to remove through a normal wash cycle they could try soaking for an hour or two. Make a solution of Tide Hygienic Clean or Tide Oxi Liquid, Rinse Out and water and soak. Run through wash cycle after.
