Everything is great until the "free" subscription runs out. Pretty much useless as a security system without the subscription. Only live feeds are available, you can't view recordings (no feed views without subscription). I wouldn't mind so much if the price wasn't astronomical, it's 17.99 per month for more than one camera, which is a total rip-off. I wish I had researched this more before purchasing.

Does this come with a trial of the pro subscription? I don't see a way to even start a trial? I thought it was going to have a 60 day or 4 month trial at least?

Do not buy. Unlike previous Arlo cameras you must buy a subscription to record any of the videos. After 30 days you will have to buy to record events such as motion detection etc. it's a minimum of $18 a moth billed annually. The is $216 days each payment

Don't waste your money! You have to purchase a monthly subscription in order to capture video. You can get a notification on movement but when you go to look at it, there's no video. I've confirmed with the company, this is a premium feature. The cameras are useless without capturing video.

Absolute garbage. 1st one failed after 13 months and was out of warranty. Now I changed internet service provders and the cameras cannot switch tonthe new network. After 3 days of arguing with Arlo tech support we were able to prove it was their hardware and there reponse is "so sorry you are out of warranty." Definately pass of these devices.

Good cameras, but right after the expiration of the manufacturer's warranty one quit working and will not charge. So, not very durable in my opinion.

Love how easy it is set up and the video is really clear, even at night. App is simple too. Just wish it didn't require a subscription for full features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The camera is an "Essential 3rd Gen" camera, the view is very detailed it has 2k video and a wide 130° view with the option of color or black and white night vision, the black and white uses less power. The camera is battery powered which you charge via USB. It has an integrated siren you can set to automatically go off when it detects movement or threats you decide what is considered a threat in the app by adjusting the detection settings or you can set it off yourself using the app I love that option and it also has two way audio which is really cool too. Another great feature is the built-in motion activated spot light which I like a lot its a great deterrent. Installing the camera is very simple, and its very easy to set the angle of the camera. Maneuvering through app and settings is pretty self explanatory, instructions are included if you need them. The app has arm away, arm home, and stand by tabs at the top of the app and dashboard, feed, emergency, devices and routine tabs at the bottom. The camera automattically connects using dual band wi-fi, it's super easy, you just enter your wi-fi password in the app and your automatically connected. Im really very happy with this camera and all its features it has everything you coukd ever want in a security camera. I must mention that a plan is needed for full feature options, I'm personally choosing not to sign up and use what's available which is everything I need right now. I looked up what you get with a plan it says you get cloud video storage and the AI features like object detection (person, vehicle, animal, package) and you are able to customize the activity zones. Different plans are available the options include twenty four seven monitoring and response. You can also get support for all of arlo cameras. I love with a plan you can get an emergency response which is great for a lot of people, I personally don't need that option but it's a great option. I plan on replacing my other cameras with these as soon as I can this is a great security camera, I'm very impressed with it.
