The most unpleasant surprise was the extra $500 to connect service in North Texas. The service is nice but has periodic high ping moments during prime-time, usually late afternoon and early evening. This is still a huge improvement over AT%26T copper U-verse which was awful. Starlink will at least bridge us until someone installs fiber in the neighborhood.

For starlink to be a multibillion dollar industry I see no reason to play Temu games advertising. 1) Box claims to have everything needed to get started right away. It does as long as you don’t mind laying your receiver in the yard on the ground. You gotta pay extra for all mounting pieces. 2) Add claims $40 a month well that’s until you get to the part you pay. After locating your address you become a $120 a month person. (I’d like to know if anyone is a $40 month customer. 3) If you live in a house with covered walls not an open floor plan and bigger than 1300 sq ft. You better get your money out and buy a mesh router to extend coverage. I’m not to mad because I’m sure it discloses all this in the fine print. I just hate that they feel it’s necessary to trick ppl into buying this. After spending all the extra money it’s well worth it. (Aftermarket mounts cables etc. ) don’t spend the 400x markup. Do a little better ELON.

Do not fall for the “free install” promo with Hello Tech. NOBODY is going to install your unit! They don’t pay enough for the installers to take these jobs! Had it rescheduled several times, then I just went ahead and installed it myself. It’s not too bad to install, just do it yourself. The starlink itself is a good unit and preforms well.

It works! The price is a little steep for Roam Unlimited, but if you need internet on the go, for work or play, this is the way to go. Youtube, Teams Calls, SSH sessions, all flawless. Sometimes there is some brief delays, but most connections tolerate it and you don't lose anything. In places where lots of houses and buildings can obstruct your view, expect a lower speed and more dropouts. You are always suited best by finding the best angle to the sky, sometimes 10 feet one way or the other helped an enormous amount.

we recently purchased this item to get away from the cable company we are forced to receive here in our county. the company has poles that are leaning and only beings held up by tension of the cable and where it's not there is cable hanging off it where thiefs have stolen it. and we have been with the company through several buy outs and had the same phone number for over 40 years. wish we had this 30 years ago

Love how fast it came. The dish is easy to install and setup. The activation was easy and the speeds are great. Downloads, Gaming, Video conferencing and just plain streaming with multiple users has been great. Was so glad to get rid of Comcast and all of their pricey hidden charges. With starlink adding more and better satellites the service will only get better.

Starlink has been amazing! I wanted to get it for a long time but never did, I finally broke down and bought it, and I wished I had bought it so much sooner. I started to get nervous after ordering it as I’ve heard of stories of people that purchased from Walmart and had to pay an out of region fee, thankfully though the seller on Walmart I purchased from I didn’t have this issue, I set it up, even got a free 7 day trial to starlink internet from starlink themselves, and a discounted first month cost! It has been great! If you purchase one, I will advise to be cautious as you may get an out of region fee, if you do, return the starlink don’t even finish setting it up so that you don’t get hit with that fee. As for the seller I purchased from, I didn’t have this issue!
