[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we bought this elliptical, it was advertised as “3 in 1”, elliptical, stepper, treadmill. When using it, it takes several seconds to get it going as a stepper, holding firm on the handles so they don't move. There is no way to make this machine emulate a treadmill, as you have to hold onto the handles all the time. We found the elliptical to be very jerky when we try to go at a fast pace. Just not a smooth running machine. We have contacted NordicTrack and are returning the elliptical.

The elliptical makes a lot of noise, on triage fly wheel was broken. Attempted to have the “service” team repair it. Worked for 2 days, now the creaking is worse. Appears to have major problems with flywheels per the repair tech. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Still waiting for them to repair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoy the X16 Elliptical; the white-glove setup made it easy to get started. Connecting to the WiFi and operating it was straightforward. This is my second NordicTrack Elliptical, and I'm making the most of iFit while enjoying the interactive personal training.

Took a while for my wife and daughter to get used to the stride and height of the machine. Thankful we have 9 foot ceilings on our first floor or we'd be bumping our heads. Didn't realize it would be so tall. We have noticed a squeak when working out on the right side where the handle connects to the upright support. It was occasional at first but has become more regular with use. I believe it is in the pivot point that connects the upper arm to the lower leg bar. Seems to be coming from where it rotates at the upper support bar. The machine is stable and not rocking-just squeaking. Otherwise the girls enjoy the machine. I have only used it a couple times. I mainly use my Nordictrack Step Climber XL.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine itself is great. It is worth paying the money to have the team do the set up, it would have been way too complicated to do on my own. The machine is slightly taller than anticipated, so not good for rooms with low ceiling heights. My biggest drawback is that the iFit video is not as intuitive as I would have hoped for a subscription model. I think the machine does not have enough "easy to use" offline programs of intervals, etc. so make certain that you have good Wi-Fi access.

It takes a little time to get comfortable with the NordicTrack X16, but once your body develops some muscle memory and your core adjusts to maintaining stability, the workouts become much more enjoyable. Compared to traditional ellipticals, this machine engages a wider range of muscles, which really helps improve overall strength and balance - especially important as you move into your 50s and beyond. The transition from a standard elliptical took me a few weeks, but now that I've learned how to use it properly, I can really feel the benefits. My workouts feel more complete, and I can tell it's targeting muscles my old machine never reached. The only downside is that cool-downs can be a bit tricky to perform smoothly, but that's a small trade-off for the overall results.

Probably the worst buying experience i have had, machine arrived damaged due to poor packing, wrong replacement parts were supplied by manufacturer 3 times. When finally operational the machine repeatedly dropped network connection despite an excellent signal. Note here Ifit settled a class action law suit for this issue earlier this year. Add to this debacle the fact that you need to buy an Ifit pro subscription at $40 per month in order to fully utilize the machine with guided workouts, their “train” version works on older ifit capable machines for $15 per month !!. Even working with their customer service escalation group did not resolve the connectivity issue and so the machine will be returned. If you want to avoid major frustration keep well clear of Ifit brands such as Nordic Trac, Pro Form etc.

I never thought of myself as a runner. I'm built like a farmer! But this machine actually lets me run without destroying my joints. And I have travelled to more places in the last 45 days than I have in my entire life. . . hiking in the Canadian mountains, walking in Australia and running in Portugal. Love the iFit. I actually look forward to my workout.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been trying to exercise more, and I just couldn't get into the habit. I have trouble with my knees and walking/running would hurt, and I would take a break and the cycle would start again. The elliptical allows me to put my legs and arms without straining my knees. I didn't think I would want the iFit training programs, but those have actually helped me workout out everyday. It's a big investment, but I'm on 20 days straight of working out 20-30 minutes each day.

I bought this so I could do elliptical and my wife could do treadmill, when research it doesn't say anything about it is just a motion change. I thought you would use a selection but to change the motion. So now in the middle of using you lose the motion you were doing. And now I find out I cannot pair my IPhone to it to listen to meetings I have recorded. SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE SOLE MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
