[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been researching Elliptical machines for 1-2 months when I saw an ad on Facebook for the X16. The deciding factor in my decision to purchase was it's ability to be an elliptical, a stepper, or a treadmill. And after having it for a month now, I can honestly say it is the smoothest, best machine I have ever worked out on. And the I-Fit subscription makes each workout session so entertaining. Very nice machine and I'm glad I bought it.

When stationary the foot print is relatively small. Heavy box, open in garage, take parts to the assembly area (heavy and cumbersome) once together. Assembly is easier with two people, not too technical. Nice cup holder, could use a device holder

We’ve had one issue in the past year of ownership, one of the rubber belts frayed to the point that it had to be replaced. The part was still under warranty and NordicTrack made the whole process easy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this machine. It is super smooth and quiet. It's best feature is the free moving stride, allowing your stride to increase or decrease automatically based on the user, your speed, and how you want to move at the time. So why 4 stars and not 5? To be fair, for me and the way I use it, it's a perfect 5. But I'm a bit older these days and don't run as fast as I used to. I like to run at a pace around 4mph, pushing it up to around 6mph when sprinting. My old self, would have pushed both those speeds up 2 to 3 mph. And that's where this machine falls down. Anything much over 6mph, no matter how I try to shorten my stride or adjust my technique, and the stride goes too long, banging into the base like a drum. So. . . if you're happy running 6mph or under, like me. . . You will absolutely LOVE this machine! I do!. If you are someone who likes to really open up the speed on a regular basis, then I can't recommend it for you.

Took a while for my wife and daughter to get used to the stride and height of the machine. Thankful we have 9 foot ceilings on our first floor or we’d be bumping our heads. Didn’t realize it would be so tall. We have noticed a squeak when working out on the right side where the handle connects to the upright support. It was occasional at first but has become more regular with use. I believe it is in the pivot point that connects the upper arm to the lower leg bar. Seems to be coming from where it rotates at the upper support bar. The machine is stable and not rocking-just squeaking. Otherwise the girls enjoy the machine. I have only used it a couple times. I mainly use my Nordictrack Step Climber XL.

It takes a little time to get comfortable with the NordicTrack X16, but once your body develops some muscle memory and your core adjusts to maintaining stability, the workouts become much more enjoyable. Compared to traditional ellipticals, this machine engages a wider range of muscles, which really helps improve overall strength and balance - especially important as you move into your 50s and beyond. The transition from a standard elliptical took me a few weeks, but now that I’ve learned how to use it properly, I can really feel the benefits. My workouts feel more complete, and I can tell it’s targeting muscles my old machine never reached. The only downside is that cool-downs can be a bit tricky to perform smoothly, but that’s a small trade-off for the overall results.

Do not buy this. The handles bang hard if you try to go fast. I have had it for one week and the display has already needed reset twice because it lost connection with the machine and the sound was not working. I overlooked this with my old Ifit bike because I like the Ifit software when it works and I paid $500 for my old Ifit bike. At this price point I expected more. If you intend to go at a slower pace, you may be fine, but the banging starts at around 40 RPM which is less than the beginner running workout I am trying to complete. The machine is heavy. It arrived very well packed. The instructions were good. The included tools and hardware were good. The banging and jenky tech are just laziness on behalf of Nordictrack. Unacceptable.

i bought nordictrack x16 because it was supposed to be for short people it is a lot bigger than advertised. They showed a girl moving it but it takes 2 people. i use manual mode so i was disappointed that you can't use apps like Netflix without paying ifit over $300 a year to get access to it which you shouldn't have to pay to use an app you already have to pay for to use. Honestly i would have bought something alot cheaper if i new i couldn't use console without subscription

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we bought this elliptical, it was advertised as “3 in 1”, elliptical, stepper, treadmill. When using it, it takes several seconds to get it going as a stepper, holding firm on the handles so they don’t move. There is no way to make this machine emulate a treadmill, as you have to hold onto the handles all the time. We found the elliptical to be very jerky when we try to go at a fast pace. Just not a smooth running machine. We have contacted NordicTrack and are returning the elliptical.

Probably the worst buying experience i have had, machine arrived damaged due to poor packing, wrong replacement parts were supplied by manufacturer 3 times. When finally operational the machine repeatedly dropped network connection despite an excellent signal. Note here Ifit settled a class action law suit for this issue earlier this year. Add to this debacle the fact that you need to buy an Ifit pro subscription at $40 per month in order to fully utilize the machine with guided workouts, their “train” version works on older ifit capable machines for $15 per month !!. Even working with their customer service escalation group did not resolve the connectivity issue and so the machine will be returned. If you want to avoid major frustration keep well clear of Ifit brands such as Nordic Trac, Pro Form etc.
