This printer doesn't manually print on both sides of the paper, as well doesn't have a paper tray. It hold a smaller amount of paper at the back that is open to the elements. The print quality isn't great. The only thing it has going for it is the big ink tanks. Not worth the money

Setup was straightforward, and connecting it to my devices through the HP Smart app was quick and easy. The print quality has been excellent for everyday documents, and color prints look sharp and vibrant. The biggest advantage for me is the Smart Tank ink system. It holds a lot of ink, so I don’t have to constantly worry about replacing cartridges, and the refill process is simple and relatively mess free. It also makes this printer a good choice if you print frequently. The all in one functionality is another plus. Having printing, scanning, and copying in one compact printer makes it convenient for a home office or general household use. Overall, it has been reliable, easy to use, and economical to operate. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a printer that is easy to maintain and doesn’t require frequent ink replacements.

I have had other HP printers in the past and I was getting tired of constantly buying ink cartridges. I like that the ink in this ink tank printers goes a long way before needing to replace/refill them. The print quality is good and it prints faster than my old ink jet printers. I think the only caveat with this printer (and I didn't realize it until I used it) was that you have to manually flip the paper over to print both sides, whereas my old inkjet printers did that automatically. Other than that, it's pretty solid. It was easy to set up and connect to my computer and wifi.

The overview on HP is deceitful. On the website it says : Print speed up to 12 ppm (black) and 5 ppm (color) but in reality it’s 2 minutes FOR ONE COLOR PAGE (on one side) & about 50 seconds for ONE black one. Adding to the fact that it doesn’t print on both side … forget about the rest of your day if you have to print a lot of pages for school or work!

Super easy set up with the HP app. Literally took a few minutes. Easy connection to WiFi. Great print quality and ink dries quickly. No smudging. Like that the printer has refillable wells for the ink and do not have to purchase expensive cartridges. The unit itself is a bit larger than I am used to. The paper gets fed upright from the back, which doesn't allow for much paper to fit at a time. All in all a solid printer and I would recommend.

The documents I have printed so far have been of decent quality. One of the main reasons I chose this printer was its refillable ink-tank system. With my previous printers the cartridges often dried out because I didn’t print frequently. My friend has told me that the HP Smart Tank will resolve this issue as he has experienced the same issue in the past. I do like the concept of the refillable ink system and am optimistic that it will fulfill my printing needs. My only disappointment is that the printer does not have an automatic document feeder or multipage scanning capability. Each page must be placed on the scanner individually. Overall, the HP Smart Tank 5100 has been a choice and meets my printing needs for both my mobile phone and laptop.

I like the fact that there is no need for cartridges & it prints great....when it prints. A lot of the time it refuses to print saying that the printer is offline, when it clearly isn't. I'll try printing several different items, some print right away & others don't. They just sit there in the que saying the printer is offline. Sometimes, if I walk away for a couple hours, I'll come back & find that they printed while I was away.
