I still can’t get the printer to work right. Can’t get it to work on my phone either. I need help!

Seems to be a good printer although I haven’t used it a lot yet

I needed help to set it up but it's been working great so far and happy with how it functions.

Poor to set up. Half the time says it is not connected and then suddenly kick on. Very slow printing.

setup could have been easier. instructions differed between the online install and setup guide. needed to keep checking both. we'll see how it lasts. epson install was easier.

I have always had HP Deskjet printers, and it seems like I was constantly ordering ink cartridges...either I ran out or didn't use the printer in a while and for some reason, they didn't work right. I love the idea of the tank printer. Supplies will be much cheaper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right out of the box, the setup of the HP Smart Tank 5100 All-in-One Printer went smoothly. The HP app—downloaded after scanning a QR code in the printed instructions—guided me through every step of the process with helpful animations. From removing the items from the package to installing the ink in the wells to placing the printheads in the carrier, I did not run into any issues. Once up and running and connected to my wi-fi, the device automatically printed its calibration page, which I then scanned to align the heads. I then printed a photo of the painting, The Kiss, to check the vibrancy of the prints. I was amazed! The detail and the brightness were captured perfectly! My only issue with the printer is that the onboard display is minimal and does not provide much information/guidance. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this simple yet effective printer.

I see the major advantage of this printer as the infrequency of the ink replacement. I was able to get it loaded with ink, and up and running fairly easily. However, every time I use it, first it has to "wake up", which takes a minute, and then it has LOTS of whirring and clicking and clanking noises when it actually prints. The quality of the print has been very good so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this machine! It was easy to setup and it’s easy to use asl well. I was afraid of spilling the ink while I filled the machine but HP actually thought of this and engineered great bottles so they won’t spill any ink. It was super easy to follow the instructions to setup the printer. It’s also easy to use, from a computer or my phone. The resolution could be better but it’s still pretty good for the price.

Lets start by saying I am a baby boomer but not totally ignorant when it come to computers and things. I found the set up instructions a little off. Some of the sites that I was directed to were different than shown in the directions and did not react as described in the manual. I found it much easier to set up the printer using a printer cable first.(That was very fast- once I gave up on the manual instructions) It went much smoother and I was able to set up the wireless feature later. The printer prints as you would expect - nice clear images and text. The ink was easy to load and it seems this process will be much better than buying ink cartridges. Have had this for about 2 weeks now and I am completely satisfied with this purchase.
