Customer reviews for Hamilton Beach 1.7 cu. ft. Portable Washer forMember photos
poor quality
this item arrived defective, water sensor did not work. it would fill with water and not stop. Flooded my kitchen. I tired different cycles and water levels. Had to return. No customer services from RCA. The 1-800 number listed said they do not service the item and gave me another number. After I called that number I was referred to the RCA website, which referred me to the original number. I attempted several times to reach someone who could help and never could. Poor quality. Like other reviewers here, I did not like the short electric cord or the short hoses. Would have to use a extension cord in order for it to reach a outlet in my kitchen.
So happy with this purchase! Bigger than it looks and cleans well. As long as you follow directions you will have no issues with hooking up or running this great machine. Took me 6 months to choose which machine I wanted and so glad I took the time because this is a total 5 star purchase!!!
STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER!!!!!
Purchased this washer for my apartment, ten days later the pump went! Ten days!!!!! Contacted Magic Chef, was told washer was under warranty(ten days I would hope so). They scheduled a repair with some contracted out repair company. When the guy from this company called me he was rude and told me he wouldn't send a repair guy unless I took the day off from work!!!!!! It gets worse. The day they were supposed to come they never showed. I called this guy named Rick who then told me if I didn't like the service to complain to magic chef! So I did. They were even worse then Rick! Finally I got them to get another repair company to service this disaster of a washer. I took the day off(again) and they went to the wrong address and refused to come back!!!! I returned the washer to Walmart and got a refund. Bought a haier, stay away from magic chef.
Wonderful Washer
I couldn’t have asked for anything more. This washer is a life saver. It saves money, time and headache from going back and forth to the laundromat. I have had this washer for about 3 months and still working like a charm. Easy installment. And the loads that it can wash is incredible. Can’t beat it for the price.
Instructions and Answers
I bought this for my apartment to hook up to the kitchen sink, (I like this washer because you can hook it up to normal w/d hookups or to the sink.) You attach it, turn the water on, select the cycle and hit start. (Also, I bought a retractable clothesline and mounted it above my tub. Most everything dries in a couple hours with a fan and the exhaust vent on.) The washer holds about four pair of jeans, or several shirts, or several towels and wash cloths, socks, etc. - First, it does roll... you just have to lean it back to about 60º to 70º. If you do that, it moves very easily. I roll it into a closet and then roll it back to the kitchen when I need to use it. - When you hook it up to the sink, you will have to remove the aerator that is on your sink and attach the included adapter. That will allow you to simply snap on the hose. You MUST connect the adapter hose to the COLD inlet on the back of the washer and select cold for your wash cycle. Also, put the included brass fitting over the HOT inlet on back of the washer. (I actually just leave the adapter on my kitchen faucet... works fine.) - This is a HIGH EFFICIENCY washer. There is a little drawer in which to put your detergent, and they recommend powdered detergent. Do not use too much. I use about 1/3 the amount I would use in a regular washer, and it works perfectly. - If you use softener, like I do, only use about a tablespoon. I actually use the Normal wash and then add the tablespoon of softener to the drawer and run the 10 minute Quick wash. - When you wash towels or other whites and want to use bleach, you will need to let the washer fill first (and I wait until about five minutes into the wash cycle) and you will need to dilute the bleach before you add it. I use about 1/4 cup of bleach in a full glass of water, and then dump it in the water all at once.
Love it so far!
Its perfect size to bring to our basement since our other one was too big! Trying our first load now and seems to be great so far. Super happy it doesnt have to be attached to a sink. Took about 5 days to come :) compared sizes of our dryer to the washer to help sizing
RCA 1.6 Portable Washer
This is one beautiful machine. It's true, it's exactly like the Midea, which was rated the best portable washer. I've never been happier. I did have to go to Home Depot and find the right adapter to fit the one included, but it was no problem. Hooks right up to my bathroom sink and drains in the bathtub. I am one happy woman to have this machine. I also have the Magic Chef portable dryer. I am in love with both.
5 star product
I have had the washer for 6 days now and couldn't be more happier. Multi adjustable setting modes, plus a ten minute quick wash. Purchased a 90' stainless water inlet hose with a 5' length so it will get as close to the wall as possible. Hook it up to the kitchen sink with the provided quick release fitting, place the adjustable drain hose in the same sink and it is ready for some washing. 4 tshirts and four pairs of mens shorts is about the limit for a load. A sheet set also fits real well as a single load. Another plus is the washer is really quiet.
RCA Innovation and Brilliance.
Washer arrived two-day shipping FedEx with one small dent. Contacted Walmart and they issued a ten percent refund same day to my account! First-day 08/22/2019 was a BIG SUCCESS, unpacking a little tough for one person, set-up a breeze, manual easy to read!!! The RCA 1.6 cu ft compact washer design is modern sleek and beautiful, it is a GREAT fit for my small apartment. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of items that fit in one load; SOMEHOW everything comes out quite fresh and clean. I think the secret is tiny cleaning pixies one per tub! tee-hee Pause the washer anytime to open and add soap or arrange clothing, some items tangle such as long sleeve t-shirts. Wash t-shirts in a large mesh laundry bag to help prevent tangling. The presoak, quick wash, and the powerful 800 RPM spin cycle are EXCEPTIONAL features in this economical washer! I read all the reviews and severely reduced my soap measurement, a little goes a long way with all the pixie swirling and swishing!!! It is REMARKABLY QUIET, from the next room I thought the washer had stopped and mistakenly went to reset the cycle, it was running efficiently! I hope this RCA washer will be durable too! I will update this review at a later date! Thank you RCA and Walmart!
Very Pleased, Great Machine!
This is a great washer. It might be slightly hard to move around, but is over all a light machine. We bought it due to our current washer and dryer were old and take up too much space in our laundry room. So you can hook this up to regular washer hook up or use the adapter that it comes with to took up to the sink. Plugs into regular 3 prong outlet. It is a very quiet machine even when spinning. It only shakes slightly when spinning. Just make sure it's balanced. Amount of laundry you can put in is about 1/2 to 1/3 of a regular large washer. Does a great job washing and rinsing. No complaints at all. It does reccomend HE powdered detergent, we are using Gain powdered detergant. Did come with a small dent in the front, but I believe this is from manufacturing, hardly noticeable and does not effect machine functioning. Am very pleased we decided to buy this, Am very pleased. Also now comes with a glass top lid, not plastic. Lowers itself done slowly. Very nice machine for a single or couple!
