Refurbished unit works perfectly

I ordered a refurbished model. Very happy with it - looks brand new and functions perfectly. And I love the features, especially being able to stream to it from my iPhone - even if the system is off, selecting it as the streaming system turns it on and you can completely control it without even being in the same room. Only quibble would be the on screen display for set up and options looks pretty dated. Still works fine though

Everything I need

I bought this guy to replace an older receiver and to add Atmos to my movie experience. I always thought my speakers were underpowered, and I was right, because my Polk 5.1.2 system came alive with this the Denon s760h. IT’s everything I need and more, for the price, I can’t imagine better. My first Denon, and I imagine I’ll keep coming back.

Best receiver I’ve owned

Since 1966, I’ve built or bought a total of six audio receivers, several of which were “high end. ” But this DENON surpasses them all with features, construction and audio quality. The setup is slightly challenging, but the instructions are thorough if you take your time. I’m loving the sound of this unit.

Easing into the 21st Century

This is just perfect for replacing the 25 year old Denon receiver in my bedroom. The old receiver was still working like the day I bought it but I was updating the TV so thought it a good time to get a more modern receiver. It was very simple to set up with the on screen guide that walks you through step by step. The cat was even amused by the tones emitted while setting the surround sound EQ. It sounds great and I am very pleased.

Great Purchase. No Regrets.

I upgraded from a Yamaha 5.1 receiver to this Denon 7.2 and I love it. I didn't expect the surround to be this much of a differnce from the 5.1, but WOW was I wrong. Now, when I'm searching for a movie to watch, I skip the Dolby 5.1 ones and look for the ATMOS ones. I don't ever care if the movie isn't that good. The sound makes up for it. I upgraded my front speakers from old school JBLs to a pair of KEF Q-350's and the clarity and depth is amazing. Highly recommend both.

Two weeks in.

Two weeks in I've replaced an AVR-X1000 with the 760 refurbished. ( New smart TV and it needed 4K eARC to reduce the connection hassles and it was time anyway). Unit came as advertised and the auto setup made the connections a snap. Two new High Speed HDMI certified cables replaced the swarm behind with a Klipsch 5.1 reference set-up. Sounds better than before (And was good before) plus two more channels to play with at some point. Impressed.

OSD when adjusting volume is too large on screen

Very solid performer. Only criticism is a UI feature which makes the OSD for audio volume much too large. Most people would like to be able to adjust the volume while playing content without a giant bar (magnified even more on an 85" television) coming across the bottom of the screen. A very discreet number displayed in the bottom right would be sufficient. I am sure something like this could be adjusted in a firmware upgrade. Hopefully Denon see's the light :)

NO Sound from LG TV to AVR using ARC HDMI.

I cant use HDMI Arc for TV sound to pass thru in the AVR. my TV is a LG 85" size. I did everything in the setup both TV and AVR, looking also in various websites and you tubes. I knew I am doing it correctly, but still in vain. Dont know what to do now?

Hello and thank you for your purchase. When connecting a TV equipped with ARC/eARC, be sure the HDMI cable is Ultra High Speed certified and to turn on the HDMI Control setting in both the TV and the receiver. For further assistance please contact https://support.denon.com/

Awesome 7.1 Atmos Receiver

Awesome receiver! I used to have a home theater that shook the house and windows setup. When I downsized my living space I got the Denon 540BT/Polk TL1600 budget system. Sounded very good. After doing that for 18 months I wanted Dolby Atmos. I don't have 7 speakers, yet, BUT the Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization included in the 760 is great. Add the On-Screen Menu system, internet radio & AirPlay 2 and they are incredible step ups. This is by far the best budget Atmos receiver IMO. Two thumbs up. Highly Recommended!!

AVR-S760H - review cg

So far, the device works fine. My one complaint would be how certain functions are accessed. One example is with a Roku TV, accessing the options that gives access to the Denon receiver for on-screen display is exceptionally tedious. Something as basic as Bass and Treble control should either be directly on the device, or at least on the remote rather than having to dig through things to get to that function.
