Trusting the refurb

I love Denon and it's been a while since my first one 12 years ago, I'm semi retired so I went with a refurb, because of income. I'm in the process of connecting the AVR fully with in wall, ceiling, center speakers along with a sub in my Gator Lounge (Man Cave), I really like all of the options I've read a lot and view many videos about the AVR-S760

New to me!

Ok, I admit I'm a dinosaur! I'm used to the old style of plug in and play receivers. This threw me for a bit of a loop but I read the manual and had some help from some friends. I never had a surround system before so a lot of this was new to me. But once I learned how it all works, it came fairly easy. This refurbished unit came looking brand new, with everything you need. The sound is fabulous and the option to have a phono input was a must. I never owned a Denon before and now I wonder why I waited so long to get one. This is a great receiver!

Surround Sound

This has performed as all Denon products I have products I have purchased in the past. I am a Denon person, I am only sorry that they seem to have stopped producing dvd, blu-ray, and tape players. They produced the best that I found, and I had all of them. But my ex ended up with all of them, so I'm trying to replace what I had and it's hard

Solid Upgrade With One Annoying Alexa+ Quirk

I picked up the Denon AVR‑S760H as a replacement for my 8‑year‑old Marantz receiver, which had started struggling to pass video from external components. Since the Denon uses the same operating system as my old Marantz, setup was refreshingly easy — almost plug‑and‑play. Within minutes I had everything configured and running. One of the biggest improvements for my system has been eARC, especially with my 7. 1 speaker setup. Even though the S760H is rated at only 75W per channel, my room is on the smaller side (about 13' x 14'), and the receiver fills it effortlessly. TV and movies sound fantastic, and the surround performance is noticeably cleaner and more dynamic than what I was getting from the aging Marantz. For music, I mostly use Apple AirPlay, and it works beautifully. Setup was simple, and the sound quality is excellent for casual listening. I did knock off one star for an odd Alexa+ issue. The Alexa app sees the receiver, and interestingly, if I include the Denon in an Alexa+ routine with my Samsung TV, the routine works — power on/off included. But when I try to control the receiver by itself (power on/off or streaming music), Alexa+ insists the commands are working even though nothing happens. No error messages, no “device not found,” just… nothing. It seems like Alexa+ can communicate with the receiver through the TV when the TV is on, which explains why the routine works, but direct control is hit‑or‑miss. It’s a minor annoyance for me, but it could be a bigger frustration for someone who relies heavily on voice control. On the positive side, I bought this unit refurbished directly from Denon, and you’d never know it. Packaging was pristine, and the receiver looks brand new. For the price I paid, it was an absolute steal. Aside from the Alexa+ quirk, the AVR‑S760H meets — and in many ways exceeds — my needs. It’s a great performer for movies, easy to live with, and a worthy upgrade from my old Marantz. Watching movies is genuinely more enjoyable now.

It doesnt seem to have the option for bi-amping so if you have front speakers with dual set speaker posts, you will need jumpers. Easy to use and sounds great

Solid little receiver

Decided to get a refurbished model because I expect Denon's high quality to last a while. The setup was relatively easy; the menu options are straightforward, and with any LLM you can troubleshoot the process. The sound is definitely an improvement over my old speaker. I like that it's future proofed, in case I upgrade from a 5. 1 to 7. 1. One caveat is the display, where some of the indicators (e. g. input signal indicator) are very small and closely spaced. If you're more than 6 feet away, it can be difficult to tell them apart. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the purchase and will wait until I'm home by myself before I crank the volume and put on the bank heist scene from "Heat"

Nice upgrade

Was rocking an old Harman Kardon AVR, this Denon really improved my connection options as the HK had major trouble with HDMI handshakes. Definitely needs it's GUI updated as it is very rudimentary.

No video after 2 months

It was working one night and then it wouldn't workin the morning when I turned it on. No video. I contacted support. They will not respond to emails but they have tried to help over the phone. After much trouble shooting they determined it needs serviced. What a disappointment.
