The daytime images are crystal clear and detailed. The night vision is very good close to the house but a bit blurry farther away. That's the same as most other systems. The motion detectors are very sensitive. We had a good laugh because the alarm would go off for our backyard saying a human was detected. It ended up being our smoker with the cover flapping in the wind. After moving it a little, everything was fine. The app works well and you can handle most of the NVR functionality from it. The only thing we miss is 2-way sound cameras. We would have used those in place of the 2 pointing at our doors. We would recommend this system to anyone wanting good day & night coverage for your home or business.

I purchased a couple months back and I got to tell you it's a great product. It's relatively user friendly. The only downside is customer service which I understand and respect and hopefully that will change the staff is good at getting back to you ASAP when confronted with an issue..

Install and set up was easy. Running wires in the attic is a challenge but would be for any brand. Recommend that you test all equipment and then pull wires and mount cameras. Note for possible improvement would be to use a better quality adjustment screws. They strip out very easily. Suggest using a high quality torx head screw. Had a problem with a couple of the cameras going offline, not sure why. I rebooted the NVR and they all reconnected. I had Lorex cameras for many years and I believe these are better quality and set up was much easier.

The Sentinel system is exactly what I have been looking for! We loved the easy set up with 1 cable for footage and power! We didn't have to worry about power adapters or power bars. The great 4k resolution with motion detection is awesome! I have 1 camera in the backyard to check what critters that may be running by after the winter thaw!

We had 2, 16 camera systems installed in our business. They replaced our older system. The installation of the cameras was quite simple and the set up took little time. From a security perspective, we are pleased with the high quality of the video/feed and in reviewing past recordings, we found it easy to go back and find specific dates for review. Over the years we have had three systems and following our research, we are certainly pleased with the Sentinel Defender camera systems.

The Defender Alarm System is AWESOME!!! The cameras now clearly monitor our hallways. We previously had major issues with students running up & down our hallways. The cameras recorded very clear & distinct photos that were given to the local high school. Problem solved!! The pictures on the monitor alert our staff when there is activity in the office. We love our system and Our staff are feeling very secure & safe. Patient & staff safety are Our #1 concern. ‘Wish We had installed The Defender System before. It’s very user friendly & We can observe any movement from across the room. Recently the hydro was out (4hrs) the emergency lighting allowed Our office to carry on as usual. Less stress, NO more worries! Thank YOU Defenders!

Giving it 4 stars because it is a good system with nice quality cameras but: 1. It came with a faulty Cat5e cable, it has power but no connection is detected. 2. The human body alarm is faulty when camera is set on an angle, I have one installed at my porch area and it keeps thinking the tree or even my front door mat is a human body.. 3. The night vision light can be a bit annoying sometimes, I don't think I've found a promising solution to have it turned off completely or not that sensitive.

We've used Defender systems for many years and run a number of their systems and devices. We recently updated to the Defender 4K Sentinel POE system and pleased to have done so! The setup was simple, well documented, great image quality, ease of updates and love the functionality coupled with the Defender Empower App, that we use on both IOS and Android devices.

I bought this system 3 months ago and have enjoyed using it. The image is very clear and the 24/7 recording is great to capture any activities. The ability to zoom and audio are great features.

Have had the system for a month or so and has done a good job recording. It is supposed to have sound, but I have not been able to hear any on video playback (may have missed a setting tho) Perfect for my outbuildings.
