Fantastic security system for monitoring our manufacturing facility. Installation was easy and the cameras have a simple, yet robust UI. Would recommend to anyone looking for a simple yet effective security system.

Purchase 1 month ago, works as required. Quality very good. Easy to set up. Downside, I cannot add a software like I did with my Swann system to view my cameras on my home laptop : (

The video quality on this system is outstanding. The NVR records without fail. Easy setup. Highly customizable settings if interested. The App also works great and playback is not an issue. My only negative comment is that I get many false motion readings, but it does capture all the real ones too so you are not missing anything. If you want a DIY standalone system that does not require a contract you really can not beat this system. This being a Canadian company was also a selling feature for me too.

This is a great security camera with great features. The hardware is pretty good and easy to connect. The setting up the devices app is very smooth. The instructions are pretty accurate. The features of camera like setting up the color of the video recording and images is outstanding. Motion detection and night vision which are the main best features of the security camera is excellent. The only downside of this, is that this is wired camera therefore installing this by yourself is not that easy. If you want to run the wires clean in the house you have to do it in the ceiling along with electrical wirings and it may require professionals. For DIYers can still be done with a careful consideration of the aesthetic of the house. Other than that this security camera is perfect for the price and its features.

I have been using this sentinel camera set up for about a month now. The installation of the cameras was easy to do. It did take some time to hide all the wires, which is to be expected. The NVR was very simple to set up and I did it without any problems. The picture quality is amazing on a 4K tv. I had no issues with setting the app up either. The steps are very well layed out. The quality of the picture during the day is absolutely beautiful. There is an option to record with black and white, or colour, or in smart mode. It's crazy how in smart mode when motion is detected at night, the scene gets lit up in colour and it is just as good as in the daytime. This was a nice surprise. For most of the camers I kept the sensitivity level on low. When turned up it will pick up rain and you will get a lot of notifications. Turning down the sensitivity helped with this issue. The cameras that are semi protected under an eve also help reduce false alerts. Just something to think about when doing the camera placement. I really like the app. It's easy to find and play your motion alerts. It has a playback feature that you can watch all your alerts for each camera. After playing the first video, it jumps to the next one automatically. We've had problems with bears in our neighborhood, so I use the playback feature to view captured motion alerts that happen at night. Overall I have had a good experience with the defender 4K Sentinel security system. I highly recommend this system if you want or need a good quality system with the best quality of picture. It's nice that the price doesn't break the bank too!

I purchased this system to upgrade my old camera system. The picture quality is top notch during day or night vision. The audio was also an upgrade as my old system did not have any audio capability. The app is also very powerful and quick. The ability to see, monitor and make changes from my phone is very convenient. I love this system and would recommend this and purchase this again.

this is my second Defender system, the first being the 2k wireless. the difference between these two so far is night and day. a little more work to set up but worth it. down the road i'll be replacing the 2k system with another of these 4k nvr systems. hoping to have a video review up on youtube soon

The daytime images are crystal clear and detailed. The night vision is very good close to the house but a bit blurry farther away. That's the same as most other systems. The motion detectors are very sensitive. We had a good laugh because the alarm would go off for our backyard saying a human was detected. It ended up being our smoker with the cover flapping in the wind. After moving it a little, everything was fine. The app works well and you can handle most of the NVR functionality from it. The only thing we miss is 2-way sound cameras. We would have used those in place of the 2 pointing at our doors. We would recommend this system to anyone wanting good day & night coverage for your home or business.

We've used Defender systems for many years and run a number of their systems and devices. We recently updated to the Defender 4K Sentinel POE system and pleased to have done so! The setup was simple, well documented, great image quality, ease of updates and love the functionality coupled with the Defender Empower App, that we use on both IOS and Android devices.

The Sentinel system is exactly what I have been looking for! We loved the easy set up with 1 cable for footage and power! We didn't have to worry about power adapters or power bars. The great 4k resolution with motion detection is awesome! I have 1 camera in the backyard to check what critters that may be running by after the winter thaw!
