We upgraded from a Defender system that was several years old. This 4K system is awesome. The pictures are very clear, even at night. I also like that the color comes on when the light is activated. The system is easy to use and search and playback are also easy to use. I also like the advantage of having sound available which we did not have before. I highly recommend this system.

The Sentinel 4K Bundle has all the features that I wanted in a video security system. No ongoing fees, no batteries to ever change, 4K video resolution, and simple to set up and operate. My total installed cost was about 20% of the cost of a similar "professionally" provided and installed system. I have already recommended it to a neighbour, who proceeded with his own purchase of a system.

After several weeks of research I decided to replace my old battery powered security cameras with Defender. I was tired of changing batteries and also wanted to have a system that used POE, 24/7 recording, 4K resolution and color night vision. When I received the system I connected everything and proceeded with the set up. System is very easy to set up right out of the box. Then came the challenging part of running wires in the attic and dropping them down the wall to my office where I set up the NVR and Monitor. After getting the wiring pulled the camera mounting was easy. Once done , I connected everything in my office and has been working great. One recommendation would be that the design engineers think about upgrading the adjustment screws to a torx head high quality screw. The phillips head screws are subject to stripping so just a suggestion. App works great and is easy to use.

System was pretty easy to install and works well. Like having a powered system. Package was complete which was nice. Wish you had better quality screws or perhaps change to hex screws for camera angle setting. Found that the current phillips screws are soft and strip pretty easily.

This is a great camera system for the money. I actually bought the 4 camera system first and then realized that I needed more cameras to cover our large property. My advice is to buy a system with a box that can handle more cameras than you think you need right now. That way you can add cameras in the future without having to replace the main unit. Picture quality is very good. multi view, notifications, and incident search all work great. The only small issue is that it pauses frequently during playback for a few seconds each time. Other than that, this system rocks.

The system could have came with better quality Ethernet cables like cat 6. Also I would have loved to known that the nvr needs to be within 30ft from internet modem before I set all the cameras and wires up 95ft away from my internet modem. The last thing i don't care for is video playback is rather complicated. There is only pause and fast forward, no rewind to go back in case you want to watch something over again and you cannot zoom in on playback footage. The instruction manual is rather lacking in a lot of details. Very informative on setting it up with you phone, everything else isn't. However, the picture quality is absolutely amazing

Love it but.... The set up was simple. The quality so far, so good. The human detection is meh. It keeps telling me every 15 minutes the same tree is a human. Or the bucket in my yard is a human. Trying to figure out the human setting. I wish the scheduling was easier too. Not intuitive. I hope I can figure it out. Follow the YouTube on how to share access. It's wonky. But it works if you follow the video's guidance.

This is actually an upgrade for me so I think I would appreciate this more, but I definitely love the wired cameras better. The quality in video is also a noticeable improvement and now that I can monitor from the DVR and not from the app, it’s more streamlined and not put together clunky to get the outcome I wanted which I now have. The quality of the cameras is also an improvement. You can feel how robust these cameras are compared to the previous wife ones I had. I did have one that had an issue with water intrusion which distorted the image, BUT I can tell this was a one off situation because these really are better in quality. So much that even with water inside the camera, distorting the image, it never shorted out and it still ran, so that also makes me think this is a one off situation. Also, Defender was quick and professional about making sure I got a replacement camera with ZERO headache. Lastly, the DVR seems a little flimsy and the software running on it is also very rough, but it’s in perfect working order. My only concern is “Time”. How will this DVR hold up by this time two years from now? Overall though, I think this is a great deal for the price point and would certainly recommend as a legacy customer.

Good system. Easy to install. We enjoy the wide view. Can see a lot more than expected. Only issue is that we get alerts that they are picking up human body but when you look, it's nothing. We tried turning sensitivity down but it didn't help. So we get a lot of notifications for nothing. And it's the same spot over and over. Maybe it's a ghost? Lol otherwise we are happy with it all.

This is my 3rd Defender camera system. By far my new system has better cameras, audio and even security motion lights. The system is priced lower than the original system I purchased over 12 years ago. My only complaint is the user interface which to me, is not intuitive. It takes real digging to find out how to replay and save videos.
