Good quality camera, easy to install. Design needs more flexibility to position anywhere and see image upright. Also gets a lot of false positive “human detection” even though we turned sensitivity to Low.

We upgraded from a Defender system that was several years old. This 4K system is awesome. The pictures are very clear, even at night. I also like that the color comes on when the light is activated. The system is easy to use and search and playback are also easy to use. I also like the advantage of having sound available which we did not have before. I highly recommend this system.

This is my 3rd Defender camera system. By far my new system has better cameras, audio and even security motion lights. The system is priced lower than the original system I purchased over 12 years ago. My only complaint is the user interface which to me, is not intuitive. It takes real digging to find out how to replay and save videos.

This is actually an upgrade for me so I think I would appreciate this more, but I definitely love the wired cameras better. The quality in video is also a noticeable improvement and now that I can monitor from the DVR and not from the app, it's more streamlined and not put together clunky to get the outcome I wanted which I now have. The quality of the cameras is also an improvement. You can feel how robust these cameras are compared to the previous wife ones I had. I did have one that had an issue with water intrusion which distorted the image, BUT I can tell this was a one off situation because these really are better in quality. So much that even with water inside the camera, distorting the image, it never shorted out and it still ran, so that also makes me think this is a one off situation. Also, Defender was quick and professional about making sure I got a replacement camera with ZERO headache. Lastly, the DVR seems a little flimsy and the software running on it is also very rough, but it's in perfect working order. My only concern is “Time”. How will this DVR hold up by this time two years from now? Overall though, I think this is a great deal for the price point and would certainly recommend as a legacy customer.

Good system. Easy to install. We enjoy the wide view. Can see a lot more than expected. Only issue is that we get alerts that they are picking up human body but when you look, it's nothing. We tried turning sensitivity down but it didn't help. So we get a lot of notifications for nothing. And it's the same spot over and over. Maybe it's a ghost? Lol otherwise we are happy with it all.

The Sentinel 4K Bundle has all the features that I wanted in a video security system. No ongoing fees, no batteries to ever change, 4K video resolution, and simple to set up and operate. My total installed cost was about 20% of the cost of a similar "professionally" provided and installed system. I have already recommended it to a neighbour, who proceeded with his own purchase of a system.

After a lot of research I chose to install the Defender Sentinal system. I was excited to buy from a Canadian company. This system checked all my boxes including non of the gimmicky features like flashing lights and sirens. Overall quality seems to be what it should be for the price. Installation is only as difficult if you want it. Set up was relatively simple. Picture quality is great in daytime and acceptable at night using the IR feature. The layout of the NVR systems OS could be refined but overall it works. Improvments in the app would be beneficial but again it does its job. I installed this system about a month ago and would definitely buy again.

Giving it 4 stars because it is a good system with nice quality cameras but: 1. It came with a faulty Cat5e cable, it has power but no connection is detected. 2. The human body alarm is faulty when camera is set on an angle, I have one installed at my porch area and it keeps thinking the tree or even my front door mat is a human body.. 3. The night vision light can be a bit annoying sometimes, I don't think I've found a promising solution to have it turned off completely or not that sensitive.

Replaced my old nightowl bnc system with this one. Great upgrade. Picture quality is a whole lot nicer. The app to see what is going on at home while your gone is great as well. System looks well made. Cameras have some weight to them and feel like good quality. Forewarning the nvr was set to human detection at first start up and does beep if there is anyone outside in the camera field of view. Kinda scared the bajesus out of us.

We've had this system installed since the beginning of October and I could not be happier. Everything took about 8 hours to install properly and everything looks great. The quality of the video far exceeds my last system. The colors are sharp and the details are crisp and clear. I've got 6 of the camera's outside and they are able to cover everything that I need it two. The other two cameras I have inside pointing at my doors so that I can see who is coming and going. Being able to view the camera's in real time using the app has been extremely useful, especially while expecting deliveries or watching the driveway to see when my kids come home. Anything that you can do with the recording unit (NVR) you can do with the app, and I don't think I've had to plug the NVR into my TV for a while now after discovering how powerful the app is. Everything records in 4k and with audio so you can hear whats going on as well. I don't record 24/7, so I only have the motion and human detection turned on. Notifications are recorded in the app as well with a thumbnail, and when you click it you are taken right to that time so you can view the event on the player. If you need a system, you can't go wrong with this one.
