Well I brought Fresh Pet because of the commercial about food allergies in pet. So I have a 6 year old yorkie (Charlie Sheen), that has had a skin allergy for the last year. Shots and all. So I thought I'd give Fresh Pet s try. Do the weaning process started, I would mix a bit of his old food with Fresh Pet. He really likes it. Okay this will work. I left for work one morning feeding him the mixture and within seconds it was gone. My husband decided he needed more food a bit later in the day, so he placed abit of his old food in the bowl. When I returned from work he was a constant on my heels and legs while I got in the house. I asked "what you need, what's wrong", several times before making it to the kitchen. Still he's hanging on my legs. Again I ask "what's wrong, what you need. He sat down by his bowl and motioned to the bowl then the refrigerator and back to his bowl. Giving me a signal that he didn't have the right food. I opened the fridge and that was it. I poured Fresh Pet in the bowl and poof it was gone. Smart dude should I say. He loves it..

Dear Freshpet, Our sweet angel Bailey is 16 years old and since we’ve introduced Freshpet two years ago, her energy level and spark in her eyes is back! I have been giving my 3 year old male Shih Tzu this food for over a year now. We had tried numerous different kinds of food before this and he either refused to eat it or got diarrhea from it. From day one as a puppy he wouldn’t eat dried dog food, no matter what can food we added with it , he ate around the crunchy food. Different canned foods made him just have diarrhea even a food made specifically for his breed. Adding water to crunchy to soften it, he refused to eat it. We even tried the raw dog food kind but that was hard to figure out with having to rehydrate it but he wasn’t found of it so I went shopping again. We started off with the Pet fresh chicken recipe, the pieces were big but he loved the real chicken and veggies. When I saw the small dog formula I grabbed it and haven’t looked back since. He loves it. My kids love that it doesn’t smell like normal dog food tends to smell, so I get them to even feed our boy when I’m busy. It’s helped with his skin allergies, his bowels and he’s even gained some weight when he was skinny from not eating right. Please don’t do anything like change the formula or stop selling it, I don’t know what I’ll do.

This is literally my first time that I have wanted to review anything, but it has been amazing to watch my nine year old dog go from barley eating hard and wet food for weeks, to being extremely excited to eat every day AND from being very lethargic to energetic within days after eating this.

My yorkie-poo is just under 5lbs. She has a very small & sensitive stomach. We have tried store brought food as well as vet recommend food, but without fail within a week she would either turn away from it or throw up. Then we found Freshpet! She loves it & never turns away, she keeps it down & is finally gaining weight. I love it for its freshness and simple ingredients. My 11 1/2 year old Goldendoodle has always had digestive issues. Even tried prescription food. After an unrelated surgery, we tried Freshpet to get Zach back to eating. I was so surprised when I opened the packages that this does not even smell like dog food. Smells like delicious chicken. To our delight he loved it! He is like a new puppy. Amazing quality. Perfect bite size morsels. Our 13yr old Yorkiepoo rescue absolutely loves this food. The food smells amazing! He has more energy, coat has become fuller, and his stool quality has improved. The morsels are tender enough for him to "gum" since he no longer has teeth.

I adopted a senior pug last year. Terribly picky eater. I was stressing out. His little teeth needed something soft. Tried fresh pet small breed and he loved it. I often find it at the grocery store and find it cheaper there than at a pet store. I will say it's not cheap because I go through 3 bags a week. Small breed in a bigger bag would help. Thank you though! My sweet pup is happy and healthy. Ps- ask ur grocer to carry it. Worked for me.

My Sassy has immune mediated meningitis (which caused her blindness) and is on immune suppressing medication. One of the side affects of the meds she is on is poor coat condition/growth. I began feeding her Freshpet Select chic & rice rolled food 1 year ago. After about 4 months,her coat was amazing despite the meds she was taking. Thick, fluffy, soft and shiny! And her skin that was slightly dry and flakey,was in perfect condition! And the BEST part... she ate Science Diet C/D previously due to crystals in her urine and even though she ate the "prescription diet", she still had crystals present. I just checked her urine after a year on Freshpet... NO CRYSTALS!!! So needless to say I am very pleased with this food and even more pleased about the dry kibble. Sassy goes every where with me (including work, I'm a vet tech in an emergency animal Hosp) so I need to be able to carry food in my bag for her that does not require refrigeration. With a rescue dog of unknown history, finding a food that satisfies and is healthy can be a chore. My saga took eleven months with multiple types and brands, even vet recommended types. With only six teeth, some types were immediately rejected. The poor dog, who was named Bella, had a very sparse coat and an underweight appearance; nothing seemed to help. While walking past the Pet Refrigerator, on my way to purchase another product, the FreshPet Small Dog package immediately caught my attention, so a single bag was purchased as a trial.
