We purchased the Extreme Coaster for our two grandsons, ages 1 1/2 and 3 1/2. We were quite sure that the boys would like it and we were quite sure that we would be happy with the quality since we have purchased quite a few other Step 2 items. The Extreme Coaster surpassed our expectations. The boys LOVE it and so do their young cousins. The 3 1/2 year old can "coast" independently and it won't be long until the 1 1/2 year old can push the car to the top. Our son-in-law was able to set up the Extreme Coaster on an incline.... so the kids really get a super ride.

I ordered this for my son's 4th Birthday party [...] My husband and father put it together in about 10-15 min.s. When I saw it in the living room I thought it was too big and I had made a mistake but I was wrong. My son was scared at first but from the first ride down he was hooked. All the kids at the party loved it. Even a 1 year old loved it but he's extreme! All the parents said where'd you get it now I have to get it because my son/daughter LOVES it. What my husband loves is that he can just relax while my son is on it he doesn't have to do anything. We had my son wear the helmet at first but he doesn't now. I still think he should but the ride is very safe and sturdy. Love it.

Fantastic Item! I bought this for my 4 yr old & she loves it. She'll spend at least an hour at a time on it. Make sure you try it on grass first because it is fast! The only problem I had was that it didn't come with a seatbelt. [...] This is well worth the money.

We bought this for our grandson's 3rd birthday present. I can't even put into words how very much he loves it. He and his 1 year old brother both have played on it almost non-stop since he received it. It is the hit for outside playtime plus the bonus of exercise. My husband put it together in about 1.5 hours. This was in mid 90 degree heat and he took several breaks. He said now that he has done it if he had to put another one together it would take about 20 minutes. We had all the parts included except one washer but we had one that would work. The only con is that if you move it watch that middle green ramp support. Make sure it stays vertical. It would have been better built if there were some kind of lateral bracing to hold the middle support more stable. Some have said it is to costly a purchase but for us… it was bought with pure 100% love and worth every bit of it. We highly recommend this extreme coaster!

I've had this coaster for over 7 years. At that time I had two granddaughters. I now have 8 grands and this thing is still going strong! Absolutely everyone loves this. As soon as the weather gets warms we take it out of storage and it's the last thing we put away before winter. It's fun, safe and a great form of exercise! The product is very well made. It's held up well after all this time with lots and lots of use and abuse! The only reason it's not like new is because the colors have faded in the sun and the stickers have peeled off, but other than that it's like new! I highly recommend this toy. It's AMAZING!!!!

I thouroughly reviewed this toy before purchasing it. I read dozens of reviews which convinced me to give it a try. I had every expectation it would be "the gift" of Christmas 2008 (even though the wife disagreed) and I was right! I had it assembled inside the house for when the kids (ages 3.5 and 26 months) woke up and their eyes lit up as soon as they saw it. The first time down they were a little unsure and their eyes were wide, but after that it was "game on" and non-stop fun. The great thing is they have to push the car back to the coaster, which they usually do running, which gives them exercise and tires them out! We have been using it right out our front door so the kids shoot down the sidewalk, across a small patch of grass and into the cul 'de sac - a parent will have to supervise unless the "path" for the coaster doesn't take them into a street etc. Our boys actually ride in together with the older boy wrapping his arms around his brother while riding on his lap! Every family member who came over, especially those with young children, were envious and emphatic in their pronoucements it was "awesome" "incredible" and "amazing". I bet several of them will be buying one for their kids next birthday. Step 2 hit a homerun with this toy. Hands down, the best gift of this Christmas!

We bought the "little" roller coaster when our son was about 2 and he loved it. When I saw this coaster in a parents magazine for best Christmas ideas, I knew he would love it now that he is older and bigger. I DO make him wear a helmet, not so much because of the height, but because it goes FAST when it comes off the ramp. We have actually had to make a "bumper zone" to stop him coming down the side of our house. This would be my ONLY safety suggestion- to make sure you have a stopping zone! Otherwise, this coaster is truly a find, very durable yet light enough for one person to move. The little car fits my BIG 4 year old (55 pounds) securely and he has hours of FUN! I only wish there were more outside toys built as well for his age group.

I purchased this for my grandson's third birthday, and it arrived early enough for his birthday party with half a dozen toddlers from ages 2 to 5 in attendance. They all played on it without any difficulty and loved it. Where it was installed they had enough room for the run out of about 15 ft. Since then, it has been the new favorite toy. What's not to love! They can push the car back up the ramp themselves using the cleverly placed steps in the middle between the car tracks. It was amazing to see how quickly they "got it". My son said it was easy to assemble and like everything else they own from Step2, it is weatherproof. That is great since this is the Pacific NW where rain is frequent. It even shipped earlier than what was stated on the website.

My five year old and three year old twins love the extreme coaster. They could play on it for hours but someone has to be with them when they ride it to make sure they don't get in front of the car when watching. I was surprised at how far the car actually goes. It is a great toy to teach them how to take turns.

My son uses it often, always a great toy to bring out when company is over always a hit. Everyone ask where to get one. We have had ours a year now and still love it and still looks brand new, we do keep in garage when not in use. Would buy again for sure even though it takes room for storage. Will have many more years of fun with it!
