I thought for the higher price and the steel beams that this would be a much sturdier shelving unit. Rivets are supposed to lock the shelves into place, I would say only 60% do. Maybe I received a bad unit, I don't know. The unit is to heavy to take back so I will use it but it will be for lighter storage items. I had intended the shelving to be used for 15-20 lb totes.

Just bought a second set of these. They don't feel super sturdy, but they're fine for what I need: storing boxes of art supplies. Here are a couple of tips for putting them together: The little holes on the uprights are a teardrop shape. The narrow end points down. The instructions say to partially assemble the first set and then tap the protective caps onto the uprights. Don't. Put the caps on a set of of uprights for the top and a set for the bottom. Much easier to do than trying to do it on wiggly partially assembled shelves. Have someone hold the first ones you assemble. It's possible for one person to do it, but infinitely easier with a second set of hands.

Bought 4 on a Saturday only special. Ordering was an ordeal, my husband tried for 2 hours with no luck. I was finally able to place the order at 3am! These go together fairly easy with two people, harder with just one. Wish I had ordered more st the price!

These shelves really do go together without tools. They look good and are extremely solid. This was my fourth purchase of these shelves and I don't even bother shopping around when I need more shelves because these shelves are just that good and reasonably priced.

They do what they need to, and the assembly is rather simple. The main reason I gave the shelves a 3* is because they are pretty flimsy. While building and when they are up, not a sturdy material. While we were putting one together the metal of one of the sides of the shelves bent.

Great shelving. No tools needed, but sturdy, easy to assemble, variable shelve heights, and extremely durable. I bought 2 and liked them so well that I bought 3-more. They are very affordable. As a matter of fact, they are extremely affordable especially when they are so sturdy and versified

I bought the only 3 sets available in town recently. These shelves make a sturdy addition to the basement or garage. I did have two broken shelves in the 3 sets I purchased, but I used them anyway because it was too difficult to return them. That could have been caused by rough handling in the store as most of the boxes were dented. The woman helping me let the box fall from the top of the stack because it was heavier than the two of us could handle and no one else around to help. You do need to have shims to level up the feet or the shelves do not fit into the brackets or the brackets pop out of the support posts. I've had 5 similar sets in my basement for over 15 years and have moved them several times. My college-aged kids split the set put both halves back to back as a kitchen island with a wooden top. Worked well for additional storage.

I bought this to alleviate storage problems for bulk purchases of toilet paper, paper towels and water. Assembly was fairly simple, 2 people make the job super easy. The shelves lay into place which is convenient if they should break in any way (plywood can be used to replace). I found the rubber pad inserts were the most difficult part of installation - I wound up destroying 3 before I decided to not use. Since the water was on the bottom shelf, I decided not to install the rest. I really like the ability to customize the unit to fit my needs - I'm using 3 shelves for storage and the rest is currently in another room as a desk for crafting in another room.

They go together fairly easily - you will need 2 people! I had to assemble by myself and it took over an hour to do 2 separate shelves. I feel they are a bit wobbly even assembled, so it's hard to maneuver them into place. Glad I only had to slide them a few feet.

I have many boltless shelving systems in my garage and this one is by far the easiest to assemble. It is very sturdy and actually has some eye appeal. I wish I had bought these for the other 10 that I already have. And, these are about $20.00 per unit cheaper.
