we bought 3 of these. one of the boxes arrived dented from underneath, couldn't see the damage till we removed the top and got down to the bottom 3 shelves. an appx 5in chunk of each particalboard was broken. 2 of the side bars were twisted beyond use. so that pack was only partially used. had to borrow 2 shelves from the 3rd pack. however when I opened the 3rd pack, the bottom three of that pack had multiple cracks in the boards. had to make a short shelf out of these and turn them opposite the crack, hope they don't break. so paid for 3, only really got 2 full shelves because the shelves are too weak for heavy things.

Each individual piece of metal: beams, bars, brakets are flimsy during assembly. The columns/pillars are solid and have no give during the set up. Once the whole thing is put together the flimsyness subsides and it seems to be very solid and hold weight. Upon taking the parts out of the box don't be saddened as I was that it felt cheap, I think the flimsy lightweight parts are smart design to keep weight down where weight isn't needed.

The new modifications (upgrades) moved this storage rack from a good item to an excellent storage unit. Specifically, the deeper depth of the shelves and the redesign of the connecting mechanism (of top & bottom halves) is so much better, more solid and quicker to assemble. I've already bought three and plan to buy two more for my climate control storage unit.

I bought 3 of these Storage Racks about a month ago and I am so happy that I did, that I am going to buy 4 more this month. They hold 800 LBs per shelf and are great to look at. My son said that they were so easy, that he enjoyed putting them together for me.

Overall a good quality product. You will have to place one shelf at the connection point between the beam sections, in the middle. I have similar shelves and they came with a clip to secure the two beam sections together so you don't have to place a shelf in the middle and place the shelves were you would like.

Bought three to go in my garage and only one wasn't broken. I took the two broken ones back and the pallet of shelves looked like it had been dropped. These seem to be very fragile and prone to shipping damage. If you purchase, go to the store and pick out the best looking boxes and stay away from ones that look beat up. The one shelf that was ok seems fine and sturdy but these are too heavy to bring all the way home to discover they are broken and need to bring them back.

This is the third and fourth shelf I bought. I bought the plastic ones that Sam's sold because they were out of these, and they lasted 6 months and collapsed on itself. It doesn't feel sturdy until it is loaded down and because it is so deep you could leave it away from the wall and access it from both sides which is what I did.

These shelves are sturdy and easy to put together with two people. The price is great compared to other stores. I was able to get two sets of shelves from Sam's for the same price as one set from Home Depot. Delivery to my house was quick and arrived early.

I purchased three of these shelving units to organize my garage. They were too tall for where I wanted to put them, but I was able to reconfigure them. Instead of three units that had five shelves, I was able to get five units of three shelves that work great! I'm very glad I purchased these. Great sturdy product!

My husband and I enjoy these shelves. It took us around 20 minutes to put it together. It didn't take long and was easy to put together without having to refer to the instructions much. The assembled shelves feel sturdy. The body is metal and the shelves are black MDF boards I think (they are wood). Overall, they look and fit great in our garage. Even after putting all of our stuff on the shelves, they seem secure and hold our stuff nicely. We bought two of these. I think for the price these are great, especially after the hassle we have had with other brands from other stores. These are cheaper, better quality, and easier to put together.
