Flimsy, cheap, and dangerous

Was hoping to get additional shelves in the Gorilla Rack style that we've had for about 15 years. These are not even close to that quality. The frame is so flimsy that you can't put it together by yourself. The shelf supports keep popping out at the slightest flexing, even when the shelves are mostly assembled, and you can't trust *any* serious weight on the upper shelves. Who knows when this shelf will come toppling down on our children? Pathetic, Sam's Club.

Very good shelving!

This is a very good shelving unit for the price. It was relatively easy to put together, my husband and I had it up in about 40 minutes. The only thing I would want the manufacturer to improve is the thickness of the plastic shelves. But it does the job, looks great in our garage and has plenty of shelf space. I recommend this for home garage use, not so much for warehousing.

CHEAP JUNK

The original gorilla shelves were AWESOME! then the Members Mark first run was ok. These are thin junk with a nice paint job. If you do buy make sure to wrap each shelf with duct tape so the particle board doesn't fall out when you put something on the shelf.

Unsafe shelf

We bought three of these in the past from Sam's and they were great for what they are. Five stars. So we bought another one the other day. However it is not made by the same company - Sam's has contracted with someone else, obviously cheaper or they wouldn't change providers. Prior shelves had some metal connectors to hold the shelving sections together when building it in the vertical design. It made the system secure from the top part tipping off and over from the bottom half. This new one has little plastic inserts. I contacted them asking for some of the metal pieces and of course as a different supplier they don't have any. I can just picture one of my grandkids climbing the shelving, grabbing the top and having the whole top section tip over on them. It is my opnion as a parent and grandparent that this is inherently unsafe in the vertical build and I'm shocked that they claim it is safe and that Sam's buys that. Wait until someone gets hurt. It also makes you question the quality of the other Armadillo products.

Older models were much better

Armadillo brand that has been substituted for members' mark is nowhere near as good. I trust it once I have it put together, however, its very annoying to assemble these new models with the plastic post connectors. As soon as one beam is connected, another comes loose. Bring back the original model. They are 5 star quality.

Excellent shelving!

These are super sturdy shelves and VERY easy to put together. My husband and I have now bought 4 sets to use (garage and basement). They come together very fast. I do suggest using a rubber end mallet (inexpensive one), however it is not necessary.

800 lbs/shelf is not 100% accurate

I like the shelf, but the rating of 800 lbs/shelf is likely under lab conditions with most of the weight towards the (supported) edges of the shelf. I had a 221 lb generator stored on the bottom shelf (the only thing on that shelf besides 5-10 lbs of potting soil on the opposite side) and the shelf held for a few months, but I just moved the generator yesterday and the shelf snapped. It’s still a OK shelf, but I’m very disappointed that the rated weight capacity is nothing near what is advertised.

Single = Not so simple

These shelves are great for for storage and plenty sturdy. "Simple" assembly gets pretty difficult without a second set of hands. The box is heavy, but that speaks to the sturdiness of the shelving. Keeping the base square and upright during assembly without help proves extremely challenging.

Best shelves for the money!

I've got several of these shelves for my garage and basement and never had a single problem with them. Great quality and they sustain a lot of weight! You can configure the shelves to whatever heights you would like. Very easy to assemble and at a great price - for high quality shelves.

Great shelves for the price

I shopped around before choosing these shelves for my basement storage room and I am very happy with them. They are fairly easy to assemble, fairly sturdy, and work just as I had hoped. There are some that are much more solid and heavy, but these do the job and are priced right. I will likely buy more of these.
