Disappointed bad purchase

Shelves do not even hold 50 lbs and the poly board racks on steel no brass shelving bows. I will have to buy center brass rods and wood shelves to actually fix this suppose heavy duty shelf. I want to take apart and take back but the hassle 😔 never buy again

Don’t purchase this rack

Don’t not buy this!!!!! Nothing snaps together like they say on instructions and when you try to move them around it’s pretty much impossible to do so since they come apart really easy and you have to start over. The shelf’s are very thin and two of them snapped in half already within just a day of building. Worst rack I’ve ever bought. Called the number and they want me to return the item back to the store. They don’t understand that it takes a while to build and they just want you to take everything back instead of them sending a replacement. DONT BUY THIS ITEM

Good product, crappy delivery service

Getting things delivered by sams is almost more trouble than it is worth. If you are thinking about upgrading to plus to get cheaper delivery dont bother - you can't get anything delivered without dividing it into multiple deliveries. All so you can pay multiple delivery fees. Apparently there is a 350 lbs limit. They don't mention it until you try to check out. Turns out (after souring the picture for a weight because sams doesn't tell you) that 4 shelves weigh in at 350.4 lbs. So two orders later with double the delivery fee and they all come on the same ONE truck. What a rip off.

Ok shelf -- so-so quality, frustrating assembly

The way the rivets slide into the long and short cross beams can be very frustrating. If they aren't lined up just perfectly, they don't slide down. You have to get 4 cross beams (2 long and 2 short) to all sit tight and stay -- and depending on manufacturing tolerance some will fit ok and others will not. At that point, it's a giant "jenga" toy that will topple. If you try to set up the bottom shelf in the lowest slots, when you push down the other cross beams down the first one will pop up from floor pressure -- so I didn't use the lowest slot. The cross beams are thin metal, so a little force and then bend/flex, making the rivets harder to go in. If you use a mallet (as direction recommend) it's easy to bend the cross beams -- I finally assembled these using body weight (carefully). If you make them full height -- you have to stack the second set of beams on little spacers until you assemble the 4 cross beams that join the top/bottom legs, which is an odd design and doesn't feel sturdy. The laminate shelves are reasonably sturdy (I stood on the lower one) but I can't imagine loading 800 lbs on one -- you can hear some wood cracking/compression noises when you seat the shelves on the metal beams and put more than 150 lbs on them. I bought two of these...and they work okay for what I'm putting on them, and I didn't want the hassle of returning them after I got the first one assembled, but I would not buy more of these.

Quality went down

I have 3 of the older version of this shelving unit. The newer version definitely skips out on the same quality as the previous version. The newest version is slightly darker in color, and it has cheap smaller plastic tabs that are supposed to connect the lower and upper rails. The 4 pieces that connect to the vertical rails don't fit very well and even when hammered with a rubber mallet still barely want to fit. The older version isues metal connectors for the upper and lower rails that are stronger and overall just work better. I won't be buying this again. Very disappointed they quality went down so much with the price increase.

Buy something better

It took me (a woman) about 30 minutes to put together by myself. My issue, as I was putting the shelves on I noticed 2 of the 5 shelves are broken. I called the 800# on the paperwork and had to email my receipt and photos of the damaged shelves to start a "warranty claim", but I haven't heard anything back. If I had 5 functional shelves I'd probably give this 5 stars, but im giving it 3 stars (1 star for each shelf I can use). Also, being these shelves are made from particle board, there's no way I'd say they'll hold 800 lbs each!

Decent shelves for a decent price

Bought two sets for garage. Are they a bit flimsy? - Yes, if you're comparing them to $300 welded-steel industrial racks. If you have normal expectations you'll find that they are certainly adequate and serviceable, and the folded steel legs are considerably better than the thin crap you'll get at other stores at this price point.

Very sturdy!

I never leave reviews, but this product is worth it. We bought two of these shelves, almost 2 years ago. They were easy to put together, and they have held up beautifully! We have them stacked full of storage stuff, and a lot of it is quite heavy. These shelves haven’t bowed, or showed any signs of weakening. 5 star product for sure. I would absolutely recommend purchasing!

Not the Same as the Older Shelving Units

I bought two units today and put them together. All of the reviews are valid that state how cheaply made these are compared with the ones they used to carry. I bought five of the previous models and were able to assemble them quickly and without help. These two are flimsy. The short plastic pieces you use to joint the two uprights at each corner are laughable. I will have to reinforce the joint with a mending plate because I am afraid of the top half tipping. Also, I couldn't use the bottom holes for the shelf brackets because the corner upright would not sit on the floor; and, the brackets kept coming out of the holes. Also, the little plastic pieces to put on each end of the uprights are on the opposite end of the robust spectrum. Would I buy these again? Probably, if I grit my teeth real hard. If you have another alternative for a shelving unit with solid shelves, I would look at them first.

Extremely difficult to put together

Do not believe any of these people saying it's easy to put together. I brought 8 of these and so far out of the first four two of them have been extremely difficult to put together. Random pieces have come broken and or bent. Not worth the purchase unless you have time and lots of patience to put this together. You're probably better off buying something with screws.
