Decent shelves for a decent price

Bought two sets for garage. Are they a bit flimsy? - Yes, if you're comparing them to $300 welded-steel industrial racks. If you have normal expectations you'll find that they are certainly adequate and serviceable, and the folded steel legs are considerably better than the thin crap you'll get at other stores at this price point.

Good, but not as good as they used to be!

We have bought these both many years ago and more recently. My 4 start is because they are not as good as they used to be. In particular during assembly. They use a softer metal from what I can tell. They have bent and been difficult to get put together without issues. The previous ones I could brute force together and they never bent. From what I can tell, they are still solid once assembled. Haven't used the new ones for very long though. The nicest aspect to the new ones is both the plastic feet and the softer edges of the metal itself. The previous had cut me a couple times when I wasn't careful. Still had issues with boards always fitting well (this hasn't changed). Overall I'm still very happy with them, but not as happy as I was with the older ones we have.

do not buy this trust me

This looked like it would tidy up the garage. I had wanted a plastic shelf that I had bought for the shed but they were sold out. This thing broke on me. Bent on me. I threw away a bunch of wood chips and returned the rest. This is not sturdy at all.

Compared to two other brands, lowest quality.

This is the third different brand of this style and price range of shelf. This is the lowest quality. There is excessive flex in the posts, beams, and braces after it is assembled. You loose top and bottom shelf space due to "skipping one hole" per the instructions (no choice on the bottom).. It got 3 stars for having a better system for holding the two post halves together with a "post coupler". The other two brands I've used did not have that.

Junk

The shelving is easy to assemble and if you try to move it it easily disassembles. Moved the shelving from one room to an adjacent room and the whole thing fell apart down to the lower shelving. Parts were bent and the plastic joint pieces are junk also. Would not even recommend this shelving to my worst enemy.

Ok shelf -- so-so quality, frustrating assembly

The way the rivets slide into the long and short cross beams can be very frustrating. If they aren't lined up just perfectly, they don't slide down. You have to get 4 cross beams (2 long and 2 short) to all sit tight and stay -- and depending on manufacturing tolerance some will fit ok and others will not. At that point, it's a giant "jenga" toy that will topple. If you try to set up the bottom shelf in the lowest slots, when you push down the other cross beams down the first one will pop up from floor pressure -- so I didn't use the lowest slot. The cross beams are thin metal, so a little force and then bend/flex, making the rivets harder to go in. If you use a mallet (as direction recommend) it's easy to bend the cross beams -- I finally assembled these using body weight (carefully). If you make them full height -- you have to stack the second set of beams on little spacers until you assemble the 4 cross beams that join the top/bottom legs, which is an odd design and doesn't feel sturdy. The laminate shelves are reasonably sturdy (I stood on the lower one) but I can't imagine loading 800 lbs on one -- you can hear some wood cracking/compression noises when you seat the shelves on the metal beams and put more than 150 lbs on them. I bought two of these...and they work okay for what I'm putting on them, and I didn't want the hassle of returning them after I got the first one assembled, but I would not buy more of these.
