The August Wi-Fi lock performs well. It locked and unlocked instantly using Alexa and the app and was super quiet. In fact, with the chime disabled, the lock is virtually silent. Manual operation was smooth and easy, and push alerts of of lock activity arrived quickly.

This was very easy to install. August has done a great job keeping it simple and providing features that help make the install very easy. Our only hiccup was when the firmware update kicked in connecting through my Samsung S9 (Android) phone, it kept hanging up. We reset everything and my wife connected with her iPhone and everything worked fine. We love it. We also installed the keypad, which is a nice feature for contractors, family members, etc coming in and out of our house.

I have installed the Wifi Smartlock Pro plus the keypad. Install was easy and the app provides good functionality. Apple Watch function is working as well, sharing app access also. So far so good. What really sucks is the connection to Apple HomeKit. I have not been able to connect the two, had to call tech service at August. The good thing is that they are very responsive and one doesn't have to spend hours on hold. The bad thing is that the fix apparently requires to reset the whole lock, disconnect the keyboard and do a factory reset of the wifi lock. Who wipes out everything and I think it's just "trying" something. I don't get why the August Team can't get this right when all else works ok.

I am very happy with the lock and keypad. They were easy to install and both work well. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the doorbell and it's camera. I'm disappointed with the doorbell's performance. The camera is very slow to react when I want to see interact with someone at the door. Often, I can't even get a live feed. I can't watch a recording unless I download it first. I'm VERY disappointed that there's no HomeKit integration with the doorbell. I'd recommend the lock and keypad and hopeful that August will sort out the doorbell.

I bought this a few weeks ago and each day I have the lock connect and disconnect from wifi at least 5-10 times per day. Why can't it stay connected??? No problem, it still works when I need it too. Well, sometimes. I set it up to work with HomeKit and that worked the first day but since then it always says it's unable to communicate. I even reset the device and set it up again with no luck. So now I can't use it with iOS except through the August app. Which works, but only when the actual lock is connected to wifi. My batteries are also “critically low” after owning the device for about a month. Not really impressed with that. I also bought the keypad and that worked for a few days and then kept saying my code was incorrect. So I opened the app to check and nope, I was typing in the correct code, it just wasn't unlocking the door. So I did the reset and it works intermittently. I still have to carry my keys because I can't trust that the device will unlock with my phone or keypad. And that's really unfortunate because this device was supposed to make my life easier.

I owned the previous version of the smart lock and really enjoyed the convenience of not have to use a physical key. The old one sometimes had connection issues with the bridge(could've been my WiFi and location within my house). The new lock doesn't need the bridge and has a much stronger connect. Reacts very fast to me getting home and unlocking automatically and it is in a much smaller form factor. I will add that because it's so much smaller, when you remove your old lock and replace it with the new smart lock it might not cover up any paint imperfections from the old lock. I can see a different color paint square around my round lock. Not a big deal for me still love it. Highly recommend the new lock!

I did my pre purchase research and August was clearly on top. I was still somewhat skeptical on the install time so I allocated 3 hours to install my first lock. Wow was I surprised when the entire setup process including both the lock hardware and wifi/phone setup/adding family members only took 30 minutes. Easy to follow well thought out instructions. I added my second lock on a more difficult door set and still made it within the 30 minute timeframe. Adjustment in the deadbolt included in that timeframe. The two locks have been running now for 30 plus days. Mechanically they function as well as the deadbolt knobs. The added features of wifi control, family logs, allowing temp access to repair people, integrating with apple HomeKit, geo fencing for door lock unlock function is amazing. I love the fact that my evening scene starts at a certain time and all doors are locked. I highly recommend August smart locks.

I thought the keypad might be useful, but the ability to lock the door as you leave with the August symbol on the keypad is excellent. The lock itself is much smaller than my old August. I love the built-in wifi and being able to eliminate the Connect.

With the cost I was hoping for more. Not as convenient as I was hoping for. The auto-lock is useful and the ability to get in using a key pad is good, but the auto-unlock is not convenient. If it does recognize that your phone is near it takes so long for it to actually activate that I could have already opened the door using a key. The door should already be unlocked by the time I walk up to it and reach for the handle.

I bought this amount a month ago and since then it's brought me nothing but literal joy—I didn't even know simply locking my door could be an experience of joy. Locking my door is so easy and I love being able to check that it's locked from home or when I'm out. I also love that I can set codes for guests and visitors and that it's all up to me. This has made going keyless super easy if I'm going out to grab a drink and don't want to chance losing my keys! I'm so much happier than I can put into words, I'd recommend every single person get one of these! I'd pay the price a few times over!
