I bought this last month to replace an old one which had died after years of extensive use. This new model has WiFi built in, so you don't need the WiFi bridge. It uses 2 CR123 lithium batteries instead of 4 AA alkaline batteries, and so far, it appears the lithium batteries last much longer. The new design looks sleeker, is slightly smaller, and feels much smoother in the rotation. My only feature request would be the ability to transfer owners and guests settings, passcodes, etc. from one device to another. I had to copy all that info down from the old lock account and manually enter it for the new lock. A little bothersome, but not worth deducting a star.

Unfortunately the lock was not pictured as incompatible to the current lock or I would not have purchased. Returned lock, paid for shipping and insurance now waiting on refund (week2 no $$) which will not cover total purchase. I have purchased lock set before and it worked.

I had to replace another failed August lock, that one a Gen 2. I installed the lock, brought it online, and everything was working as designed (the concept of not needing the WiFI Bridge is great). Unfortunately the lock failed inside of two weeks. August told me that I need to go onsite to make the fix and update the software. I live almost 200 miles away from the property this is used on, so this is far from ideal. I'm not sure why the lock completely shuts down (bluetooth connectivity isn't working either) due to software updates, as the older models would still operate. For owners who intend this lock for a secondary or rental property, beware.

I have 2 of the August locks that require the bridge and 2 of the smart locks. They have all the features that I had been looking for which is why I bought them. The main issue with them is that they drop (off line) a lot but reconnect by themselves though. The smart lock sometimes takes over a minute to finally wake up and react and sometimes it is instant. My signal, according to the app says is all good but the reaction is inconsistent.

I bought this a couple of moth back, the door sense doesnt work. When i reaching the door sometimes it wont open. When i click to Open via wifi it takes a long time compared to the previous lock. I owned the first generation for almost 3 years until it stoped workig all of a sudden, but i had none of this issues

Bought the new August Wi-Fi Smart Lock + Keypad as a bundle. Love the new Smart Lock and the fact I don't need the bridge anymore. Also like the smaller size of the new lock. I wish I could say the same for the Keypad. It is about 12" from the lock and yet continually disconnects and needs to be reconfigured. It is pretty much a waste. I would have given 5 stars on the lock if not for the fact that the keypad was bundled with it and we can't use it.

It took several emails and almost 30 days to receive the product ordered. August was kind enough to offer me a wifi bridge for the continued product shipping delay issues, but I had to contact August again to get this promised item sent. The product works very well. I now have three of them.

This is our second August lock. We had the Smart Lock Pro at our previous home and it was amazing. Now in our new home we installed the new Wi-Fi Smart Lock in the sleek matte black and August continues to provide a great product which does everything as promised.

We bought this for our first home and loved it so much we convinced my in-laws to get one as well. We sold our house and the buyer loved it so much during showings, they requested to buy the house with the august lock and keypad included. So when we moved we bought our 2nd set of august locks. If that doesn't tell you it's worth buying then I don't know what will!

I like the instant lock feature. It's convenient to allow people to enter without a phone. The process of setting it up took multiple attempts and several hours. The phone support really wasn't great. They suggested that I use a different phone operating system, not a very reasonable suggestion. It finally paired properly and is working. It works fine but the mounting plate/system feels pretty flimsy
