I waited months to find one of these shelves in stock in our local Sam’s. In the meantime, I bougt two, admittedly more expensive, units from Home Depot. While the HD shelves were solid and easily assembled, the one from Sam’s is a real pain. First, it is made from relatively thin steel, but more significantly, one of the uprights was very warped. After struggling to get the upper shelves to connect, I discovered that I needed to connect one corner to the twisted upright and then torque it into position with a nylon hold-down strap diagonally across the two uprights. The required torque convinced me that I needed to leave the strap attached in the final assembly. The unit is now level and stable, if rather strange looking. I suppose I could have returned the unit once I discovered the twisted upright, but these units are heavy and would be a bear to repack. The moral here may be the old adage “You get what you pay for.”

Very easy to put together, once you get everything out of the box and move it where it needs to go (it's 125 lbs otherwise, and too heavy to move far!) But once you get the frame set up, the shelves are easy to do and I can set up one in about 15-20 minutes (I did 5, so I got pretty fast!)

If you're looking for some heavy-duty shelving units then look no further. Specs say they can hold 2,500 lbs per shelf for a total capacity of 10,000 lbs. That is way more capacity than I'll need but I'm confident they could handle it. They are lightweight but very solid. The price is amazing as well. In fact I purchased two of them for less than what it would costs for just one at the big box stores. So if you're thinking of making a purchase, Sam's club is your best bet.

These shelves are amazing! They are the sturdiest shelves that I have ever seen. They are much like the shelving you find in Sam‘s Club when you are shopping. Each shelf can hold 2,500 pounds, for a total of 10,000 pounds. We bought two units, and my husband put them together end to end, three rows long and three rows high. We now have a unit that is 19.5 feet long with plenty of room to stack and store items upon it. Both end sections have three shelves, and the middle section has two, with a bare opening on the floor, as there are four shelves in each unit. Absolutely worth the price. You will not regret this purchase. Product is extremely heavy. You will need help to move it.

After taking this 128 pound box home, straps intact, revealed damaged end piece (unknown at store). Employee let box hit floor before proceeding to still give the item to customer WITHOUT obtaining another undamaged shelf. Only purchase boxes without ANY damage present. The second unit went up with no problems, 90 minute install.

This is a great shelf, but beware-the box is heavy! Once you get the parts where you need them (we unpacked it and moved the parts in sections, couldn't carry the whole box ourselves) the shelf is great and very sturdy and durable. Holds a ton of bins, crates, etc.

I might want to knock off 1/2 star if that were a choice, since 1 set of holes didn't line up even with trying to force them, so may have to drill a bit. But out of 5 shelving units (over 150 of these sets of holes), that isn't shabby! Perhaps 6 others took a lot of "convincing", but got them to line up for the pins that were needed. Overall, not one screw was needed and once I got going, it was very fast to assemble these. They are really rugged and strong, and will be a very successful addition to a new shed. I'm really happy with them!!

I got one and was so impressed, I bought another. It's easy for one person to put together, with no extra tools needed. It holds 16 twenty gallon totes, 20 if you double stack the top shelf. There's nowhere near 10,000 pounds on mine but I do have some pretty heavy tools on one and there's no sagging. After showing them to my friends, 2 of them went out and bought their own. I plan on getting 1 more. And btw, these are gorgeous. The powder coated finish makes my whole garage look better.

Great storage shelves. I did my homework and found that the shelves at Sams Club had the best price for this type of shelf. Also, this shelve had one of the best overall weight capacity. I am extremely pleased and have received many compliments. I would highly recommend this product

My husband's old shed and everything in it was destroyed by a huge tree limb. We built a new shed. I bought him one of these storage racks. He loved it so much that I ended up buying him a second storage rack. Both storage racks were easy to put together and very strong.
