Magic Mesh® Hands-Free Screen Door

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a Bichon Frise that likes to run in and out of the house yet it often takes a beating on my screen doors. I used to have a “doggie door” except pets other than mine ended up in my house. The alternative was to work with a screen door that my pet can maneuver in and out. Since my pet is less than 14 pounds, I tried the Magic Mesh Screen Door to facilitate his needs to go outside. The Magic Mesh was very easy to assemble and mount with the provided double tape/velcro pads. The screen held up OK except it had to be remounted when it came loose from the double tape. I had to re-tape and reinstall which was an inconvenience. Once remounted, it held up for a lengthy period of time with no further issues. During the day it’s great having the option to allow outside air to cross through my living room. It also does a great job of keeping flying insects from penetrating the screen. The only challenge is it takes some effort to split the screen to allow for egress. Other than that, it reattaches itself very quickly when passing through. I give the Magic Mesh Screen Door a 4-STAR Rating.

Terrific item

We had only one fur baby when we originally purchased this product and she enjoyed the freedom it provided BUT since we moved and acquired another little dog they are nearly worn the magnets out coming and going at will - saved us from getting up and down to let them in and out. Best buy we have made in a while.

i bought my first one that lasted 4 years till a crazy squirrel got attached to it. i loved it. unfortunately my second one the magnets weren't working well with gaps due to misplaced magnets and screen was torn by someone going through it after being up a short time. maybe they have cheapened it??

Works well and easy installation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Enjoying this easy breezy screen! Quick setup for temporary or long term use; without having to install an actual screen door. Includes the needed hardware; sticky strips and a small box of wood tacks for added security (careful opening the small box, they’re sharp!). The magnets are quick and effective, detaching easily and quickly snapping back into place. The meshy screen is tight enough to keep the bugs with still maintaining a visibility through the material. 🚫🦟🦟🦟🚫💯💯

A Good Concept With Some Lame Accessories

The mesh panels were easy enough to put up using the velcro strips and the user-friendly instruction sheet. In addition, the product works about as well as advertised. However, the mesh fabric is entirely black. The tacks they sent with it, to reinforce the strength of the velcro strips were bright blue. What a dorky combination. I bought two of these screens for two doors I have on opposite sides of my garage. Why couldn't the manufacturer have the sense to match black tacks with an all black product? I ended up using some antique bronze upholstery tacks because of the black-blue color disparity making the finished product look downright ugly.

Does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was easy to put up. I feel like the magnets could be a bit stronger, but it does the job. It will definitely benefit is more in the summer months when the flies and mosquitoes are out. I would buy and recommend.

Bought two of these and they seem to keep tearing at the top. We cannot use the tacks because outer frame is metal. Used industrial strength velcro the second time and it still tore. I may but another this weekend and try a suggestion I seen not to tape down the ends. It will certainly keep the bugs out if you can keep it up. I would be a great product with some minor adjustments. Good Luck!!!

Decent product for the price

Fairly east to install, and gets the job done. We have a 36" opening, and it is barely wide enough for the doorway. Also, the tacks that come with it were very flimsy-most bent or broke as we tried to hammer them in. This is an inexpensive solution until we can install a screen door, though.

it looked great, but not a great product

it looked great, but not a great product. it was definitely easy to install, and I like the Velcro.. but it was really awkward to walk through. only lasted a month for us with our Rottweiler and pit walking through to the yard from the porch. the screen material breaks really easy from the magnet curtain part. good if you won't use it often, but won't last for high traffic

Overall, did exactly what I wanted it to do!

We got a puppy & after 5 months of scratching to go in/out of the house, he made a huge whole in my screen door. Bought the Magic Mesh & it works great. Found that the Velcro didn't hold up too well to the door frame, but with an active puppy, I was kind of expecting it (he keeps pulling on it!# TO MAKE IT PERFECT, went to the curtain department & bought a spring loaded curtain rod #kind of a mini shower curtain rod) Put it up against the top of the door, trapping the top border of the mesh against the door frame & poof, hasn't fallen since & works perfectly! Only cost a bit over $3. for this fix. Now my puppy is in & out as he pleases and no bugs! Love it!
