My screen has been up for all of two days and the mesh/screen is already ripped and the flimsy plastic magnet holders have flown off three times now. The first day, one flew off twice so I had to super glue the magnet inside the plastic holder and then super glue both sides of the holder together on the screen to prevent it from coming off again. Day 2, my Boxer jumped on my closed sliding door to be let in (it was cold outside) and ripped the screen and made 3 of the magnets and their holders fly off. This is now virtually useless as the screen has a hole in it. I got this to keep bugs out but also for security to prevent my parrots from flying outside when the sliding door is open for the dogs to go in and out of.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took this product out of the box, and my first thought was it was flimsy. The mesh is very thin, and the panel is very lightweight (that part is actually a good thing). I just thought the mesh would easily tear. So, for the purpose of this review, I tried to see if I could tear a small area of the mesh. It didn’t tear! The panel hung quite nicely in the doorway with the included tape strips and stayed in place. The magnets were also powerful and joined again very easily after separation. This mesh panel serves its purpose and does it quite well.

This simple mesh screen is great! Simple to install, even though I had to modify it (shorten it lengthwise and height wise) so it would fit our horse trailer sleeping quarters. It works super- just walk through it and it pops open for you, then closes behind you...kind of like magic! Love that it keeps the flies, gnats, and mosquitoes out of our little room when we camp.

Bought two of these and they seem to keep tearing at the top. We cannot use the tacks because outer frame is metal. Used industrial strength velcro the second time and it still tore. I may but another this weekend and try a suggestion I seen not to tape down the ends. It will certainly keep the bugs out if you can keep it up. I would be a great product with some minor adjustments. Good Luck!!!

I really was worried before we used this product but it is great. we have a new steel door on the back of our house and it needed some type of screen to keep bugs out. We have less problem with flies and wasps in our house since we put this up. The only problem is that it is too easy and fast for our 20 month old great grandson to get outside if we turn our backs on him. I have recommended it to neighbors already.

Super-gluing the magnet casings together with a few drops each (during assembly) and keeping the unit tight when installing it over the doorframe will optimize the mechanics of closing. Also, reinforcement of the velcro with better upholstery grade tacks will prevent sagging and ripping. The black will fade to gray over time, but it does stop flying insects very well.

It works the first day, but once you use it the material streches and cant hold firmly to snap the magnets back. I have to manually pull them together. Also, critters do get inside from the bottom. I got a nasty salamander in my kitchen yesterday. Other, flying insects do get in from small gaps but definatly less with out the magic mesh. Overall, not worth it for me.

I read the reviews before I purchased and gave it a try and I am so glad I did!! I bought a similar product from Aldi but had to put it together and I didn't have time for that and tossed it. I like this product because all you have to do is put the tape on and hang it!! I do agree with reviewers in that, you need to use the tacks that come with it to keep it up. I had to make sure the top was tacked pretty well but besides that it is an excellent product and I appreciate that I can keep my patio door open and get fresh air in the morning!!

Just what I needed! Love opening the doors for fresh air. It allows the air to flow and keeps the bugs out. Love that it’s easy to open and closes right behind you on its own. Great when you don’t have any screen doors! Our cats and dog figured it out pretty quick too.
