I bought 10x18 louvered pergola purposely to fit our deck. It looks great but the 18 foot length is probably a bit to long for the way it is made. It does dip in the middle of the gutter and the water flows out of the gutter onto the deck and now TV. I have tried to put shims under one side pillar to help the flow of water but the middle still leaks. How can I address this issue?

We have intense sun on our deck in the summer. We purchased this pergola for the deck and had I think it will be very effective in the summer. One of the factors in choosing this particular model was its strength and ability to withstand high winds which we get occasionally. I do wish there were options for side curtains to block the sun in the late afternoon. We found the installation to be a bit more complicated and hired someone to finish the frame and secure the pergola to the deck and install the louvers.

We bought two of these and absolutely love how they look in our yard, and enjoy being able to open or close the louvers as desired. All parts arrived in excellent shape, and our contractor did not have any problems with the assembly (we're not the DIY types). The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the built-in rain gutters are very shallow, and woefully inadequate during anything other than a very light rain. If it's really raining, the water either drips or pours down from the inside edge of the horizontal supports at the top of the pergola.

Our family purchased this 14x10 after deciding the louvered feature would be perfect for the inconsistent weather Oregon can provide. Already we have seen it work wonders in diverting rain when closed and keeping my kids happy and dry while they do school work. Installation was easy enough and all items were in great condition. Great functionality vs standard non-louvered pergola. This makes a 95 degree day in Kentucky feel very comfortable. Setup was easy. Two people spent one full day installing. We were missing one small piece, which was rushed out to us with no questions asked. It has also shown great wind resistance, which is a must where I live. Aluminum frames just don't hold up like steel. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because you cannot hang things, like a chair, hammock, etc from the frame, despite it being steel. I would also like it if BD made add-ons, like curtains for privacy and shade when the sun is at a low angle. Overall, I do love having this pergola.

Product is quality....all pieces came wrapped in plastic and are flawless in finish....4 boxes. 1 & 2 are the structure and 3 & 4 are the slats....hardware is blister wrapped with easy identifiers and plenty of extra pieces of each and several drive bits included...direction book was awesome, with detailed drawings and clear instructions, every step was detailed.....I constructed 90% of it myself with just some additional help to stand it up and add the 2 end pieces, once up, 1 person can complete adding the slat top....took me about 4 hours to construct the structure and about another 4 hours today to add the slats, and works as advertised with smooth rotation of the slats from full open to full closed....another nice feature is all the screw in hardware has a drop of loctite added....I still need to move to its final location and use the included concrete anchors to attach to my patio....I have to give this product a ten...I did not have ANY connections that did not line up perfectly, and it zipped right together.

My patio desperately needed some shade and though I love pergolas, I didn’t feel that the traditional wooden pergola would work in my space. And temperature extremes plus wood leads to expensive replacements. This pergola is the perfect solution. Love the look. Structure is heavy duty. I added curtains and cafe lights. Couldn’t be happier.

I bought the Sarasota Louvered Pergola 2 weeks ago and I love it. The louvered is adjustable it opens all the way or you can close it all the way if it’s raining, what a genius idea. I love the no maintenance with the galvanized steel and its sleek stylish black color. The instructions made it easy to install and came with all the anchoring plates and a 5 year warranty. I think I might buy one for my mom for Mother’s Day.

We just got our BYD pergola set up and it is absolutely perfect!!! We love it so much! The assembly took about 10 hours for two people. And its features of opening and closing are fantastic! We love having a nice place to enjoy dinner as a family outside!! And it offers a great amount of shade, which will be especially nice this summer!!!

Bought and installed May of 2025. Took me and a buddy about 3.5 hours to fully assemble. We noted that some paint had been damaged during transport, but otherwise all parts, hardware, and assembly tools were there. Given all the rain we've been having, it was perfect weather to put the folding louvers to the test - needless to say, we grilled and chilled uninterrupted by mother nature. My only concern is the linkage for opening and close the louvers; but time will tell if it holds up.
