Heat doesn't spread evenly

Seems like Crockpot copied those other cheap electric lunchboxes where there's only a heating plate on the very bottom of the warming base instead of lining the entire base's inside with metal like their slow cookers. The bottom of the inner container gets very hot but the sides are barely warm. The heat does not spread well. I guess it's easier to remove the inner lid because the top of the inner container isn't hot at all (ie. pull the lid while pressing on the inner container). However, I'm left with unevenly heated food where the bottom is hot and the top is slightly warm or still cold. Not a worthwhile tradeoff. If I leave it in longer, the bottom food can become very hot and hard. As far as heating goes, the 20 oz Lunch Crock is better but it has too little capacity. Too bad the 24 oz size seems to be discontinued (still smaller than the CrockpotGo but it'd have more even heating).

Uneven Heating

Unlike the smaller round Crockpot lunch warmer, only the bottom of the base has the hot metal so the bottom of the inner container gets very hot. However, the heat doesn't spread very much to the sides of the container causing uneven heating. Depending on the food being put in, I've had the part touching the bottom actually getting dry/burnt while the sides weren't that hot. I also had 1 of the rubber feet missing. They're easy to pull off. Since the CrockpotGo doesn't actually come in a box itself (just slipped through a paper roll with mostly everything including the feet exposed), I'm guessing the feet gets rubbed off/caught on something while being moved around the warehouse before being put into a shipping box.

Cute feature's

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was not quite what I expected… smaller than I expected… I thought I could use it to take on small picnics…this will work for lunches on the go… I like the color and it's compact… I think it would be good if your a person always on the go.

Downgrade from the Lunch Crock

If you haven't used the smaller Lunch Crock, then you probably wouldn't know that the CrockpotGo has a worse heating design than the Lunch Crock. The Lunch Crock heats more evenly from the bottom and sides while the CrockPotGo only heats from the bottom. Plus the bottom needs to be at a higher temperature to heat the food which causes the food at the bottom to get dry/burnt unless you have very moist food or don't leave the food inside for too long. The Lunch Crock doesn't have this issue even if the food's been inside all day long. The CrockPotGo is no better than the other cheaper electric lunchboxes out there. I went back to my Lunch Crock. I hope they make a larger version of it.

WOULD BUY ANOTHER!!!

This thing is revolutionary in my opinion. Once I discovered plug-in Crock-Pot lunch boxes, my lunch game at work completely changed. I was able to take stuff to work that I normally couldn't take or that a microwave would just mess up. I could take you know ramen and raw eggs and raw meat to work and it would cook it really nicely while I'm working. This the lunch box also heats up at an even level versus how. If you use a microwave every now and then you know you'll take a bite and I'll be a hot spot. Then you'll take a bite and they'll be a cold spot this distributes the heat evenly across the food. This is very nice if you work in an office setting. I have recommended these to so many people.

Uneven heating

I also wish I would have read the reviews here first. I had the lunch crock for 17 years, yes it lasted that long! The only reason I had to get a new one was because my cord dry rotted. I bought this design because I thought it would be easier to take other things besides soups and pastas. I am disappointed in the heating. Like others have stated, the bottom gets super hot but the top gets a tiny bit warm, sometimes still on the cold side depending on what you pack. I would recommend buying the lunch crock instead of this.

The bottom gets way too hot.

As the others at crock-pot.com have said, the design of this results in uneven heating. Crockpot knew of this by making the only side (the bottom) that has a heat source get very hot just so the other parts can heat up too. However, this results in the bottom being too hot. I can even hear my food/drops of liquid sizzling on the bottom. You can cook an egg on this.

I like that is a good size for a one person meal. I have not used it yet or else I would give another score

Lunch slow cooker

Love it, being able to have a hot lunch without having to go to the microwave to heat up my food is great. Working well with my low carb eating.

Not as good as the Lunch Crock

If you had the Lunch Crock, then you'd know how bad the CrockPot Go is and wouldn't know what you're missing. I wish they made a larger version of the Lunch Crock instead.
