Very Useful cleaning tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first experience with a robot vacuum. The set up was simple and after mapping was complete it was easy to set up my rooms and borders to be able to switch them between vacuum or vacuum and mop. I love the ability to have it double clean or vacuum then mop. This is a huge help around the house and makes my life easier. I can’t rely on this to clean everything perfect but it does a really decent job at 80-85%. It has a tricky time with corners and objects, so I just move everything out of the way when I have that room being cleaned (like kitchen table chairs, trash bin, etc. The mop could be a little better but again, does a decent job without me needing to do anything. I’d recommend with the understanding it’s not going to be the only cleaning, but will make your life a lot easier!
Mopping made easy once roomba is set up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I am very pleased with this mop/vacuum combo. I did have some initial frustration, but once I figured things out, the results were great. First of all, it is easy to unbox and set up. It is quite a bit larger than the regular roomba that empties its own bin, so you will need space. I needed a different app, and the roomba got stuck on updating. I had to reset and start over to get past this. The first thing the roomba does is map the space. The majority of my area is vinyl plank but I wanted to keep it out of the carpeted living room. I should have let it map everything instead of focusing on keeping it off of the carpet when mapping. You can adjust the map in the app later. The second frustration was the map. It wasn’t entirely accurate and i couldn’t split a room. I was still able to make it work and place keep out and no mop zones. Finally, you do need to pick up any rugs. Once that was all set, the roomba swept and mopped the whole hard surface of my first floor. The floors looked good and I didn’t have to do anything. It did go back to the dock multiple times to clean the pads and get water but it went right back to the spot it was at to keep cleaning. Overall, very impressed with this roomba and glad to have the ability to mop without having to do it myself!
Love Roomba mop and vacuum
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We already have a Roomba with vacuum base dock that we love using, so we were excited to try the vacuum/mop combo. Having an automated vacuum really helps throughout the week between regular vacuuming to keep the dog hair from our 3 dogs from collecting as much. I didn’t like that I had to get a whole new app for this version and that the new app can’t control my older one even though it recognizes it through Wi-Fi. I thought it would have a separate tank for the water on the actual vacuum, but it wets the pads from the tank at the base and periodically goes back to re-wet. I like that I can set how often it goes back. I was wary as to how well it would mop, but the dirty water tank shows it’s doing a good job. Again, just using between hands-on moping sessions it’s nice to maintain a clean feeling floor more regularly. I have had some issues however. When first setting up I tried placing it next to the old Roomba but found out through support that it really does need to be placed away from other units and a few feet away from surrounding walls and objects. So, that decommissioned our old one as we don’t have much floor space or plugs to keep multiple bases. Also, the first time I used it there was a puddle of water forming at the base, thankfully that seems to have resolved and may have just been where it was the first time being used. Once it makes a map of your house you can designate areas as cleaning zones. However differentiating them doesn’t seem to affect the cleaning cycles. For instance, you still have to select how you want each room cleaned. Whether it’s vacuum only, mop only, vacuum then mop, or vacuum AND mop. So even though during setup I selected the rooms without carpet that I would want it to usually mop, I still have to go in and change the cleaning type for rooms with carpet because it defaults to vacuum and mop. I wish I didn’t have to do this EVERY time and that the mop mode would stay dedicated to the proper rooms. I also observed it only vacuum, return to the dock and not start the mop cycle when I had selected different tasks for different rooms, as if it couldn’t handle all the different information. My older roomba would return to the dock every now and then to empty, but this one doesn’t seem to do that until the end. Which is crazy because I have to empty my upright vacuum several times from all the dog hair. It doesn’t even empty when returning from vacuum to wet the pads before mopping. It will build up the dog hair under the rubber roller and form a little log of hair that it leaves around sometimes. When it forms I noticed it starts making a loud clacking noise. I also had to pull a wad of hair out of the back flap where it had gotten so full and couldn’t suction it out at the base. I think this issue could be solved if it would just empty more frequently. Over all, I will continue to use but these little issues, besides regular maintenance and cleaning of brushes, add up and defeat the purpose of an automated vacuum.
Good vacuum, average mop
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used the Roomba with mopping capabilities for a solid month and here is what you need to know if considering a purchase. Pros - very good vacuum, running every three days kept our 1200 square foot home clean and we have three dogs. - long battery and has smart recharging, remembers where it leaves off - Mop keeps floor free of dust with water or Roomba solution - AI is very responsive and the unit handled rugs and hardwoods without any problems Cons - Only takes Roomba brand cleaner which is kind of annoying and a little more expensive. - Mop does not scrub hard enough for most floor stains, just basically like wiping, no scrubbing - The app will drain your phone if you let it and don't have the right settings, be aware. This was my first experience with a robot vacuum and we have been pleased so far. I have read they don't last very long so taking good care of maintainance and parts is recommended.
Decent for Daily Maintenance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to assemble. I have an older, non- mopping version. I was disappointed in how loud this one is. It also doesn’t pick up dirt as well as my old one. The mopping is nice but since it leaves a touch of dirt, even on the highest suction, I feel like the mopping just moves around the debris. Good for maintenance but not for deep cleaning. Appears to be quite durable and battery is great unless you have the mop turned on, then it returns often to charge.
It’s a life change with a hard floor.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Roomba Plus 405 Combo and really like it! You can schedule cleanings and choose vacuum only, mop only, or both. It’s quieter than my old Roomba i7, and it even has a light indicator to let you know when to change the water. The mop pads lift off carpets automatically, and the AutoWash dock empties and cleans everything for you—super convenient!
Good cleaning performance, but leaves the floor a
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setup was super quick—just 5 minutes to unbox and connect the robot to the app. Adding it to the app was also easy and smooth. Performance-wise, the robot cleans well, and the hardware feels solid. The vacuuming and mopping are effective, and it’s great that it empties its dustbin and washes the mop pads after each session. The water tank lasts about two days, and the hot air drying feature is a nice touch. One thing to note: compared to my other robot (from a different brand), the Roomba leaves the floor a bit wetter after mopping, so the drying time takes longer. You can set up no-mop and keep-out zones, but there are some downsides. Keep-out zones can't be rotated to match your furniture layout, and there’s no virtual wall feature to create custom-shaped boundaries. Also, you can't set a no-go zone too close to the dock. Spot cleaning works, but you can’t adjust the size of the area. Another thing missing is a button on the dock—you have to use the app or press the robot itself to start a clean. Unfortunately, the app froze twice on the first day, and it doesn’t show any dock status info, which would’ve been useful. Mapping is slower compared to other competitor, but extra mop pads are included, which is a plus.
iRobot Roomba 405 Combo with Auto Wash Dock – Auto
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The iRobot Roomba 405 Combo with Auto Wash Dock is a cleaning dream come true! Assembly was a breeze, and the iRobot app setup was incredibly intuitive. Connecting it to my Alexa network was just as effortless, and the voice automation works flawlessly, letting me control it with simple commands. This robot vacuums and mops with unmatched precision, automatically switching between carpet, tile, and wood flooring with powerful suction and spotless mopping. Its auto-sensing technology is seamless, and it effortlessly mapped my seven-room, 1500-square-foot floor plan without any input. The Auto Wash Dock elevates automation by cleaning pads, emptying dirty water, and refilling mopping solution hands-free. I customized schedules and named each room, and it tackles everything perfectly. This automation saves me hours weekly, letting me set it, forget it, or just tell Alexa to start while my floors stay pristine. The only challenge was clearing floor clutter—my house clearly needs more than vacuuming and mopping! This robot is a must for anyone wanting a time-saving, voice-activated, hassle-free cleaning experience.
Good combo vacuum
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Robot vacuums have come a long way since I had my first robot vacuum ten years ago. Setting up the robot and doing the initial mapping is easy with the Roomba Home App. The Lidar navigation is precise, and it only took one pass to get an accurate mapping of my home. It avoided objects pretty good and didn’t get hung up on the cords that I wasn’t able to get out of the way. It’s easy to divide and name the room in the app. I have laminate, tile and carpeted flooring as well as numerous rugs and runners. It does a great job of vacuuming all the different surfaces and I had no issue with battery life when cleaning a 1,500 sq ft area. It’s a bit louder than my other robot vacuum, especially when emptying the bag but it’s not a deal breaker to me. I do find the app a bit cumbersome and time consuming though when scheduling cleaning routines. I was super excited about the dual water tanks as well as the mop washing and mop drying features. I don’t enjoy mopping. Unfortunately, these features need some improvements. The water tanks are small, the mop pads leave the floor too wet, and the long drying cycle doesn’t fully dry the pads. Also, this model doesn’t have the edge cleaning feature so it doesn’t do a very good job of mopping the edges. All in all, it’s a pretty decent robot vacuum and with some improvements to the app, and the mopping features, it could be a great vacuum. It cleans well enough that it has drastically cut down on the time I spend manually vacuuming and mopping my home. That’s a win in my book.
