It saves so much time not having to sweep before washing my floors. It has suction to vacuum up dirt and as you squeeze the trigger to put water down on the floor it suction up the water and dirt at the same time. It can be used to clean carpets but in my opinion it is mainly for light dirt or dust. It's not great on deep spills. It only touches the surface, so buy a steam cleaner or shampooer made for carpets if you have dogs accidents or beverage spills.

II was constantly sweeping and mopping over and over; it was back breaking emptying buckets and washers mop tops. The new Bissell Crosswave is the best idea yet. To be able to vacuum and mop at the same time is a miracle. I have 2 dogs so there is always more fur left over after I mop. Now with this new vacuum it washes and picks up that extra fur that you do not get with the mop. The person who invented this is a genus. The cleaner also smells fantastic. Love, Love, Love this and will and have been recommending it to everyone I know.

I'm amazed every time I clean as to how much more dirt it picks up. No other machine I had owned had ever done such a great job. It's so easy to clean. I like that I can vacuum & wash my wood floor, tile floors & area rugs with one machine. It's the best ever.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to love this so much, and I waited a long time to purchase something like it, and unfortunately I'm not all too impressed. While it cleans the basic smears off the ceramic tile in our kitchen, it's absolutely no match for the gunk that gets stuck on the floor day in and day out between 4 kids and two pets. I have a junk credit card I keep on hand to scrape things off the floor while I'm cleaning with the CrossWave because otherwise it won't pick stuck-on substances up. I've let it sit with the spin brush directly over spots for over a minute, gently "scrubbing" it back and forth, and it's made no difference. So unfortunately, the CrossWave isn't meeting my cleaning needs in the one area I really needed it. It would be good for other types of floors and I've used it on our hard woods as well without issue. It's not a terrible machine; it just can't come close to cleaning the way I need it to. It's also worth noting that cleaning the tank is pretty disgusting and there's no great place to do it. Everything you vacuum up goes into the same tank as the water, so if you suck up a non-food item, you either have to pick it out of the dirty water and then dispose of the rest in a drain, or jeopardize your drains. It gets especially gross when there's hair in the tank as well.

I love this cleaner! It picks up everything and even does the rugs! I have two dogs and this cleaner picks up the dog hair and cleans the floor at the same time. I love that the vac is easy to take apart to clean. As listed above, If there is a con, it is that the vac does not get close to the baseboards. In my opinion, this cleaner is worth the money.

I have 5 animals, that shed A LOT. I have a large dog, 3 cats, and 2 house bunnies. My dog and one of my cats are special needs/disabled. So we have a lot of fur, and lots of mess. When we got rid of the carpet and put in vinyl flooring I was vacuuming everyday I wasn't at work and I still couldn't keep up with my critters. I am a nurse so I work 3/off 4. I got this as a Christmas gift and it has been an absolute life saver. I still have to use my Dyson to ensure I have the big stuff/most of the pet fur taken care of when I do big cleanings every couple of weeks. But I am also to quickly clean my floors a couple times a week with this. My floors have never been this clean, and it cleans so much better than any other methods I have used. It also saves me time because I can use it on my hard floors, and area rugs. I don't have to switch equipment for different surfaces anymore. I would highly recommend this product. Just stay on top of cleaning it!

I have never been a fan of mops, they merely push around the dirt, actually removing only a small portion of the mess. When my Floormate died the day before Thanksgiving, I ran out to purchase another one, only to find out the store had none in stock. Out of desperation I purchased the Bissell, which was quite a bit more money, and worth every penny I found. So very glad I did! What a great machine! It does a fantastic job, and gets used several times a week - I have 3 dogs that track in l lot of dirt. I found it to be much easier to use than the Floormate, and so much easier to clean after use. Thanks Bissell for making such a great product

I wasn't sure what to expect after seeing the infomercial. I had it a week before finally trying it out, only because I also bought during the same purchase 3 full-size bottles of the cleaner (which I was notified DAILY were delayed & given the choice of cancelling that part of the order, also on a daily basis). After receiving 4 or 5 emails about the delay, I decided to call the number provided. The (foreign) rep didn't even try to keep my business, in fact he only wanted to know if I wanted to cancel the order! Didn't seem to be off to a very promising start, but I decided to pull the machine out of the box and give it a try before calling back & cancelling the remainder of the order & sending the CrossWave back. Assembly was very easy, instructions direct & to the point. There is a very high-pitched, ear-piercing noise that made me wonder how my 2 dogs were coping, and I'm not at all crazy about that. But the machine did clean the floors as advertised, leaving the proof in the pudding - the container had black water & gunk in it that I never saw in my bucket when down on my hands & knees scrubbing the floors myself. I was impressed with how it cleaned the floor and then, with the release of the cleaning lever, even dried the floor! I did not use all the cleaner that some of the reviewers complained about - the recommended amount went much farther than I expected after reading those reviews. I expected to have to dry my wood floors with a towel afterwards, and was pleasantly surprised when I didn't! Clean-up afterwards was a breeze & a lot quicker than I anticipated. Just a few parts have to be rinsed off, & I cleaned the multi-surface brush with liquid dish soap & let it air dry, and that was that! And the 3 bottles that were delayed arrived the day after my first use of the machine! I used the machine twice since then, and am convinced that, while nothing can clean the floors as well as good old elbow grease, the CrossWave is the next best thing!

Take a challenge. Clean your floors with a regular mop then use the crosswave! You will not believe the filth you find in your waste water container! Great for hard floors and area rugs! I clean the whole house without the need to stop and change machines.
