I have a big living room and this little machine works well, however, it is not made for large areas. I’m sorry it is not. If you have a small apartment or studio then yes use it, but for large areas it is a hassle to stop and drain out the small container. Also, it clogs easily and then the water suction doeant operate as well whichc causes water to drain back out on the floor/carpet. If there is hair on the floor/carpet, it will pick up all the hair...and wrap around the brush. Thats a hassle cause youre going to have to cut all the wrapped hair and it gets inbetween the ends of the brush- which there is no way of removing the end parts. Then you have to cut the hair which the brushes get in the way. If you have nice area rugs and its started to loosen this bad boy will suck it up quickly. It will suck up rugs -depending on the type/style- easily. Overally it works well, depending on how much you use the brush, it will need replacing faster then normal usage. Cleaning is easy, but you have to clean it everytime after use due to the water usage. I wished this machine would have heat when cleaning carpets or even the bare floor. The suction valve is a pain to clean out cause its for people with small fingers/hands to get in and get the left over dirt, which causes the suction to not be as good. Also, clean underneath it near the small rubber lining , it will get dirty quick. Another thing is that when the brush is worn out or there is too much hair wrapped around it the water doesnt spread out as easily and doesnt suck it back up as good. Plus, i dont think it is worth the cost of over $200. More like 175. For over $200, there should be an additonal brush and air filter... speaking of air filter, that too is a pain to clean it is small and needs to be replace faster then the brush.

This thing is seriously amazing. I have an upright vacuum, a Roomba and the Crosswave. The Crosswave runs circles around all of them. Easy to use, does an amazing job and I'm also shocked at how strong the suction is and how much it picks up. Plus the mopping feature eliminates a step. My floors have never been cleaner and I spend less time cleaning them than before. I can't recommend the Bissell crosswave enough. Get one, you won't regret it.

Does an excellent job vacuuming and scrubbing my wood floors. However cleaning up all the parts of this product are just as must time consuming as if i mopped and then vacuumed . However it does do an excellent job scrubbing the floors to a shine , where just mopping leaves streakes unless you constantly clean up the mop bucket.

This is a must have for people who dread to sweep and mop in two different steps like I do. Simple to use. Can be used with or without the available cleaners. Mostly I just use warm water. My floors stay so muddy and this machine is saving my knees and my back and all that comes with mopping. I love that it vacuums as it mops! Buy one and you'll love it as much as I do. The swiffer only pushes things around and mopping always leaves streaks. This Bissell crosswave isthe answer to my prayers. Thankyou Bissell. I use mine twice a day! We have tons of muddy areas in our yard and even after the dogs sit in the laundry room while their feet dry off, I still manage to have tons of muddy pawprints. Watch my videos and you will see :)

I recommend a crosswave to anyone with a textured hard floor!! I have a textured linoleum in my kitchen and bathrooms and I can swiffer it THREE TIMES & the pads are still dirty at the end of round 3. The crosswave not only makes my textured floors look clean, but actually feel clean! I also use the crosswave on a wool area rug, freshens and almost re-fluffs the rug, but I do use a full size vacuum over the rug before running the crosswave.

I like my crosswave, but I have a problem with the vacuum not cleaning up to my baseboard. Now I have to get out the mop to clean the two inches around the walls. Also, the dirty water container has a maximum full line when it's time to empty, but I'm emptying mind way before the max line. I do like the way it cleans hardwood floors and then it goes to an area rugs. Frieda Couch

The Crosswave is amazing it's light weight, can be maneuvered easily, so easy to use and maintain does not leave carpet so wet . But for my experience it's not so tough on old dried stains on carpet. I live on an apartment so i am mostly carpet. i like to clean my carpet often because i have a 11 month old baby who puts everything in his mouth. My baby scatters fruitloops every so often on the carpet after chewing on it a bit, so its wet and the color of the fruit loops stains the carpet once it dries. So i run crosswave over it twice, thrice, four times nothing. I tried to use all the brushes with it but does not do much. It made me think that i might be wrong using it on a carpeted floor. It is only to be used on area rug or hardfloors? because it works perfectly well on both just not my carpeted floors. Overall a great product make me confident to let my baby play on the floor without having to worry about it being dirty. Its still 5 stars for me because it does work great on most surfaces

I've used Bissell products for years because of the quality and value of their products. The only machine I had problems with was the Symphony because I never felt the floors were clean and the machine didn't last very long. The Crosswave is an amazing machine you know the floors are clean by how they feel after you are done. We have a dog and when it's wet outside and he tracks in mud I get the machine out and vacuum and mop the mud away. The Crosswave allows you to use bissell cleaning products on your floor, the brushes, the light, and the easy of use are just a few of the reasons why I like this machine. With the Crosswave if there is a spill on the carpets I can get it out turn it on and clean the area without having to get my Bissell carpet cleaner out. I wish Bissell had The Crosswave years ago. I call it my new toy, it's actually fun to use.

Had this unit for 3 months. IT COST $248 FOR A GLORIFIED SHOP VAC. WHY??? Taking it apart and cleaning it is a bit of a chore unless you can go outside with a garden hose. Started spitting small amounts of water on first use. But it sucked it right back up in the vac so no biggie. But then it dumped an entire bottle full of cleaning solution on the floor in month 3. I had a literal cross-wave of cleaning solution in my little sun room trying to get it to suck it back up. No luck. Had to break out towels to mop up. It was not over the max line for waste liquid, had no other problems I could find. I have since seen that others had this issue. I cannot imagine how happy I would be if this unit didn't have this serious defect. Because when this thing worked it was AMAZING. Change your life amazing. Got a replacement unit but not holding out any hope with the replacement, looking for a different brand. But if it worked, I would buy one for everyone I know, no matter what the cost. Too bad Bissell, you were on to something here, just missed the mark. Perhaps you will iron out the glitches with future models.

I've used a Hoover Floormate for over 10 years and have been happy with it. The Floormate stopped working and after much research I replaced it with the Bissell Crossover. The Crossover is much lighter and easier to maneuver and causes me less fatigue. It is easy to clean and maintain. It doses a great job of cleaning the floors and vacuuming at the same time. I found that pre-treating really dirty spots with the Bissell cleaning solutions really helps. The only task the Hoover does best is really heavy stuck on spots. The Crossover is more expensive but I am able to use it more regularly because it does not aggravate my back pain as much.
