**I did not receive this for free or at a discount price. I paid full price plus shipping. This is my experience with the Bissell CrossWave**
I like the Bissell Crosswave. I wanted to LOVE it. I do have a minor point or two I'd like to address. It does not get up close to baseboards. At all. It stays a good inch away from the baseboards. We have lots of traffic (5 adults, 2 dogs, 2 cats and lots of dirt tracked in) I don't know how any of our animals have any hair left. They all shed like crazy. We have dark hardwood floors. We also have linoleum in the kitchen, the laundry room and all three bathrooms. My dark hardwood floors need to either be (dry) microfiber mopped everyday, or vacuumed with my Bissell Zing, just to keep all the fur in check. That being said, it's a pain to try to remember to go around the edge of the room first with another tool so you can get whatever little debris might be laying right up against the baseboards. So, if you don't mind doing the baseboards first with something else then you're set.
My kitchen floor Where do I begin? There are five adults living in this house and four are capable of cleaning up after themselves and one is not. My kitchen floor looks like maybe a comedy skit takes place nightly in there using food. I don't know if they don't notice they've dropped food or maybe they just think of me as the maid, whatever the reason my kitchen floor looks gross every evening. I'm taking care of my mother and I'm pulling and lifting her a lot, so my back can't really take mopping every single day. I can vacuum just fine, just not so much the mopping. I seen this Bissell CrossWave on t.v. and I got online and read reviews about it. Most of the reviews were positive, with a few people getting lemons or just having a bad experience.
I've had the CrossWave for about nine days now. I have to say my floors have never been cleaner. My mom spills everything she gets near that can be spilled, this helps me keep her bedroom floor and the main hallway to the upstairs bedrooms clean as to not be a trip hazard for her. The CrossWave is louder than I anticipated, use during the day when people are awake is fine, but I would not want to use it in a close proximity to say a sleeping baby or adult.
I used the Bissell Multi Surface that came with the machine. It was just o.k. but it's such a small bottle that I'm not sure if it's worth buying. When I went to the store (Wal-Mart Corner Market) they did not have any Multi Surface cleaner by Bissell or anyone really. All they had was Bissell Carpet cleaner, so I bought a bottle of Reguvenate floor cleaner. It's in a spray bottle and I use it on my linoleum floors and it works great.
I will tell you this. Do not put anything in the clean water tank that bubbles. You'll have white foamy floors. Stay with a machine additive like the Bissell Multi Surface or Carpet cleaner. But not other cleaners. The Rejuvenate is a spray bottle and doesn't go inside of the clean water tank. It's sprayed directly on the floor and sucked up through the dirty water tank. Also, the pic is from the first time I used it. Cleaning the CrossWave is easy and simple. I clean the whole unit after every use. I paid over $250.00 for this, I'm gonna do everything in my power to keep it in great working contition. All in all, I'm glad I got it. I do like the simplicity of the machine and the ease of use. If it could suck up dust right next to the baseboards I'd have given it 5 stars. It's kind of important to clean the whole floor when I clean the floor.
