More trouble than it's worth...
The Crosswave may be good for small areas, but as far as larger floors and rugs - it's not so great. The crosswave does not suck up the same amount of water it dispenses. It leaves streaks on the floor. I end up having to use a Swiffer to reclean and dry the floor. The Swiffer pad is dirty even after using the crosswave. Suction is not good on carpets.. Clean up is disgusting.. Having completely clean tanks, rollers, filters and touch dirty & wet parts every single time is time consuming and more work than it's worth! It also runs very loud and sounds like it's going to break everytime the handle is pulled back. I really wanted to love my Crosssave...I just wish I kept the box so I could return it. Thumbs down, Bissell.
Thanks for your feedback, JJ. It sounds like the brush area is getting clogged while you're cleaning your floors. If you notice this occuring, pause your cleaning and hold down the spray trigger to help clean out the foot area. If needed, empty the dirty water tank and run a quick clean out cycle. Best invention ever!!
I absolutely love my cross wave!! I don't know how I cleaned before this amazing invention. My husband hated to see me killing myself sweeping, vacuuming and mopping all the time, our whole house has tile floors and this machine makes a quick and easy time of this work......thanks Bissell you're my best friend.
This machine is awesome!!
I was kind of hesitate about buying this. I have dogs and they shed. And I'm allergic to the dander. I have wooden floors, so it's easily visible of dog hair and nothing seem to pick up most of the hair and mopping was like you didn't. So, I had to get something to pick it all and mop also. I am soo glad I go this machine, it really does work on my floors and lightweight too. Doesn't wear me out to sweep or mop because it does both at the same time!! I love it!!
Amazing
I recently purchased the Bissell Crosswave. This is an awesome machine. I had to go out on disability last year due to a back issue. I have a dog and 3 cats and trying to keep up with cleaning after them was difficult. I use to always scrub my floors on my hands and knees prior to my disability. I was concerned when ordering the crosswave that it would be like other products I ordered and not really clean but just move dirt. I was wrong. This is the best machine and does a wonderful job of cleaning my floors both vinyl kitchen floors and wood floors. I also used it on my area rug in the living room....wow I could not believe the dirt that was in that rug. Really glad I ordered this machine, it has made my life so much easier. Deborah
You spend more time cleaning the brush-roller, than anything
And that includes your floor. It's so time consuming to do. It's less than efficient, and frankly does a poor job. Because, clearly, you didn't pre-clean (mop, scrub, etc.) your hard surface(s) before you used the CrossWave, you weren't using it on a pristine surface. Barely three passes and the brush-roller was already saturated and filthy (I have a dog, and I hadn't mopped my kitchen floor in about 4-5 days; Plus old houses with huge single pane windows & hardwood floors literally invites dust at every moment in time.) So you have to stop what you're doing to perform the (exaggeratedly so) highly praised "convenient cleaning procedure." Which means measuring out a very minuscule amount of clean water, and pouring it into the tray (too much will overflow, and too little won't effectively clean the brush-roller). Then running the CrossWave while it's sitting in the tray, then emptying the reservoir, and then getting back to cleaning. Now, every time you need to clean it, logic says, you need to/should for best results use clean water. After. Every. Third. Pass. Not to mention that the dirty reservoir constantly needs to be emptied. Now I tried to not be cynical, and thought maybe I had gone too long without cleaning my floors [mind you, it hadn't even been a work week since I last mopped]. So after spending HOURS cleaning a relatively small area [ONLY MY KITCHEN], I decided to skip ONE day and try again.. Same thing. And the implications and notion that you can use this on carpet (even low-pile) is a complete lunacy and farce. My Hoover FloorMate is FAAAAAAAR SUPERIOR.
It techinically does its job, just not well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my Crosswave for a year and a half. I have ceramic tiles and I have pets. I have used my crosswave dozens of times. My issue is that it does disperse cleaning fluid onto the floor and the brushroll does spin over the tile as I push it. I think the problem is that the brushroll is not pressed tightly enough against the floor and/or the suction is not strong enough. I will dispense about a third of the solution in one use. None of it will end up back in the dirty water reservoir. I get that the brushroll is absorbing some of it, but some should get captured/sucked up into the dirty water reservoir. Additionally, ill see dirty streaks pretty much no matter how many passes I made, and when I am done, the floors are still pretty damp (which makes the dirty water streaks more noticable). Lastly, ill go over the same area after with my bissell steam mop and the pads will be pretty dirty, so I am sure the crosswave is leaving dirt behind. First thought would be a suction issue, but my crosswave actually broke about 8 months ago (was making a high pitched noise), and I sent it in for repair under the warranty I puchased from the retail store I purchased it from. When I got my Crosswave back, right out of the box, it worked just as I described (which is also how it worked out of the box when it was new). Again, I think the crosswave works, but I think it just isnt heavy duty enough for super dirty floors. Its more for the cereal and milk spills you see in the demo videos. Quick spills over generally clean floors. I see bissell just released a crosswave with steam. At first I was super excited, thinking i'll be able to eliminate the use of my bissell mop. But if the washing/suction abilities are the same, the steam won't really matter.

What took so long ? I love it !
I love this machine. I'm a 24/7 caregiver in my home due to husband had a stroke. I also have 2 dogs in the home. This unit is a god send ! I use it everyday several times a day. It's quick and easy to use for frequent spills and crumbs. Handles big messes well. I've put away my mop and pail, also my electric sweeper, I might even sell them. I have done the whole house with the unit with ease. I am so thankful for this unit, it saves a lot of time for me and has made my life much easier. I would have no problem recommending it to anyone. i would suggest that you purchase a second clean water tank so that you can switch back and forth between tanks depending on the solution you want to use, rather than wasting solution. I've just ordered a second tank.Thank you so much Bissell for this unit.
Worth Every Penny
I had been following this product for some time now. I was skeptical about spending that much money on such a small light product, that was suppose to do all kinds of cleaning surfaces. we have several dogs (like 9) running around the main areas of the house. in and out they come, just like kids. So our tile floor can get pretty dirty very quickly. Especially from the doggie door to their beds in the living room. Now that I made the decision to get one, I do not regret it. But of course, after I bought it they came out with the pet version, so I will be investing in one of those.
Perfect Christmas gift
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I received this as a Christmas gift from my mom and dad, we used it the day we got it and it cleaned our kitchen floor better that the old fashioned hands and knees scrubbing like we are used to doing, my husband had just cleaned our floors but with 3 dogs they get messy fast. we picked up more dog hair and dirt, which surprised us how much was on the floor due to they looked clean.
I LOVE MY CROSSWAVE!
I have 5 dogs and had to vacuum and wash my floors daily. It was annoying and time consuming. I saw the CrossWave on an infomercial and at first thought it was too good to be true. The second time I saw it I decided to take a chance since there was a money back guarantee. I am so glad I did! I actually don't mind cleaning the floors, and I am amazed at the dirt it picks up each time I empty the dirty water holder. I wouldn't part with it.
