We recently installed ceramic tile in all areas of the house except the bedrooms. We tried several cleaning methods including a wet mop then decided to get the Bissell after reading pro and con reviews. One of the negative comments was that it leaked cleaning solution. It is possible to cross-thread the cap on the solution bottle which will cause it to leak. Generally, the Cross Wave works well and cleans as advertised. Here are my observations related to giving it less than 5 stars. 1. As others have stated, it does not get close to the baseboard requiring some hand moping. 2. I would prefer a wider head to reduce cleaning time. 3. It seems to me the recommended ratio of solution is greater than necessary. I use about half the recommended amount and feel it cleans well and leaves less soap residue on the floor. 4. I have tried a water only rinse, but that doubles cleaning time. 5. The Multi-surface Cleaning Formula seems expensive. 6. The instructions state that the solution should be applied on both forward and back strokes. I tried applying only on the forward stroke and found I used a little more than half the amount of solution while still getting the gunk off my floors.

I am VERY pleased with the performance of this cleaner. I have many health problems and arthritis. I can no longer scrub floors on my hands and knees and have been distressed over my floors not being cleaned well. The cleaning service I was trying to use didn't clean the floors this well. I found the unit a little heavier than expected but nothing to deter me from recommending this product to family and friends. The edge cleaning is not as close as if I were scrubbing on hands and knees but very close and acceptable. If an area has a tough dirty spot, just spray and run at the carpet setting. It will get that stuff up! I wish this was around several years ago!

I Love this cleaner! We only have 1 area carpet in my house. The rest is tile and wood. I have 2 dogs, a 10 year old, and a husband that is messy! Using the crosswave is 1 step, and your done! What led me to write this review? I haven't done any floor cleaning in 4 weeks and it cleaned up everything wonderfully. In 1 swoop! I love it!

I only used this a few times before it broke. I loved this product the first few times I used it. Since then it has continued to get worse and worse. It started leaving streaks on the floor and now doesn't engage the brush roller at all. Doesn't suck up any liquid. I had to throw it out. I do not recommend wasting your money on this product.

I find this product takes more time and effort then the previous way I was doing my floors. I am very unhappy with it. The CrossWave does not mop the dirt off my floor the way I expected and it does not vacuum as well as my other Bissell product. It takes me almost double the time to do my floors. The clean up of the machine afterwards is time consuming and I feel it is not worth the effort. If I could return this and get my money back, I would. VERY DISSATISFIED!!! This is the first Bissell product that I have been unhappy with.

I was kind of hesitate about buying this. I have dogs and they shed. And I'm allergic to the dander. I have wooden floors, so it's easily visible of dog hair and nothing seem to pick up most of the hair and mopping was like you didn't. So, I had to get something to pick it all and mop also. I am soo glad I go this machine, it really does work on my floors and lightweight too. Doesn't wear me out to sweep or mop because it does both at the same time!! I love it!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I received this as a Christmas gift from my mom and dad, we used it the day we got it and it cleaned our kitchen floor better that the old fashioned hands and knees scrubbing like we are used to doing, my husband had just cleaned our floors but with 3 dogs they get messy fast. we picked up more dog hair and dirt, which surprised us how much was on the floor due to they looked clean.

I have a bad back and haven't been able to mop the floor in the past few years, I have to ack my daughter to mop for me, now that I have my new Bissell I can do it myself, I might have to sit down a few times in between each room, but that's ok because I can do it myself, that's ok because this is amazing at how clean the floors are and how quick they dry

It was worth a try. Definitely wouldn't buy it again. It's ok for for small sq ft home or apt. I purchased mine from Sams Club. Lasted about a year. It's a money pit the cleaning solution it $10 and it adds up quick if you have kids and have to use it as often as I did. Personally I feel like it such a hassle to fill refill and empty rinse dry. But I even purchased the cordless version thinking it would be better and it was even worse. Both machines don't clean all the way to the ashes I understand the design but I don't regret trying it.

And that includes your floor. It's so time consuming to do. It's less than efficient, and frankly does a poor job. Because, clearly, you didn't pre-clean (mop, scrub, etc.) your hard surface(s) before you used the CrossWave, you weren't using it on a pristine surface. Barely three passes and the brush-roller was already saturated and filthy (I have a dog, and I hadn't mopped my kitchen floor in about 4-5 days; Plus old houses with huge single pane windows & hardwood floors literally invites dust at every moment in time.) So you have to stop what you're doing to perform the (exaggeratedly so) highly praised "convenient cleaning procedure." Which means measuring out a very minuscule amount of clean water, and pouring it into the tray (too much will overflow, and too little won't effectively clean the brush-roller). Then running the CrossWave while it's sitting in the tray, then emptying the reservoir, and then getting back to cleaning. Now, every time you need to clean it, logic says, you need to/should for best results use clean water. After. Every. Third. Pass. Not to mention that the dirty reservoir constantly needs to be emptied. Now I tried to not be cynical, and thought maybe I had gone too long without cleaning my floors [mind you, it hadn't even been a work week since I last mopped]. So after spending HOURS cleaning a relatively small area [ONLY MY KITCHEN], I decided to skip ONE day and try again.. Same thing. And the implications and notion that you can use this on carpet (even low-pile) is a complete lunacy and farce. My Hoover FloorMate is FAAAAAAAR SUPERIOR.
