Most Uncomfortable Mattress Ever Owned

We bought this set about 3 months ago and it has been the most miserable sleeping experience for my husband and I both. We literally wake up in the mornings sore in our back and hips. It is breaking down on the side and we do not sit on the sides of the bed and the cover has already come unattached from the mattress itself in many places. I wouldn't care so much about the sides breaking down and the cover if it was at least comfortable. We read reviews before we purchased it, but I guess everyone is different in what their opinion of a comfortable mattress is. For us, it's awful.

very disappointed

We got this mattress the first week in January. Within the 1st week, it already had indentations where my husband and I sleep. We are both average height and weight. I even tried sleeping in the middle when he is out of town, hoping to even it out, but it didn't work. The indentation stays on his side, even when he has been gone for 3 nights. I will be contacting Sam's for a refund.

Verified Purchase

Nice Mattress But...

I bought a full mattress set in Serta Castleview. We were very happy with that mattress. So we went back to that order and we reordered the same mattress in a queen. We were surprised to receive a mattress that looked different from the one we had gotten several months ago. I opened my info up on the order and to my surprise the queen mattress was a Serta Castleview "Special". Upon opening this mattress it had a terrible odor. We shut it into a room with a top notch air cleaner. It took most of a week to rid it of the odor. Even with a mattress pad and sheet on it if I lay on my stomach I can occasionally get that smell again. I really liked the Castle View firm mattress and I give it 5 stars, just not the "special".

firm support

I purchased this mattress mainly because I wanted good support. I am very happy with it, I weigh in at abt 250lbs. and this system supports me in the way that I had wanted. No need to add anything but a mattress cover because the pillow-top creates a comfortable feel. I am quite happy to have found this, esp since I have driven so many miles and looked at so many different sets.

Disappointed

My husband and I bought this mattress & box spring set in December after shopping around, reading reviews and we anxiously awaited the delivery. When it arrived, I knew there would be an adjustment period, especially since our previous mattress was over 20 years old. Well, after 4 months, all I can say is this was the worst choice we could have made. It is supposed to be somewhat firm but it sure doesn't feel that way and there is already a crater in the center (a permanent indentation). I thought I could trust Serta and Sam's Club to build and deliver a quality product, but now I wish I had made the decision to purchase from a specialty mattress store or furniture company. I would strongly caution anyone thinking about ordering this to perhaps have second thoughts. I am not a finicky or difficult to please person and this mattress does not even come close to meeting my expectations.

Not so great

Just after a few weeks the center of the mattress started sagging in. no is like a slope down hill. so we both end up in the center of the mattress. The sides are firm. For what ever reason there is not enough support on the center. Funny thing we are not fat or overweight . so there is no justification for this. we will ask to have it exchanged. We will try another model. Not sure if this is a manufacturer problem , this model or just this item.

Not what I expected from a Serta

I have put up with this mattress now for 6 months...should have returned it the next day but thought I just needed to adjust to a new type of mattress. There is already a lump in the middle of the mattress where no one lays, and two valleys where we sleep each night...the mattress covering is bunching up in several places where it has come away from the mattress...This mattress has been used with a separate mattress cover since it was set up. It is already time to buy a new mattress. Sigh.

Back pain

We purchased the mattress in June, and received it at the end of the month. After about 4 months we started sinking and experiencing back pain. The back pain just got worse. We bought a memory foam topper and still sinking on each side. I just started the exchange process, hopefully they send us something that holds up more that 4 months. Sad because our last Serta we had forever and never had an issue.

Wore out in a week!

Purchased this set and it was delivered just before Christmas. By New Year's, it was already bridging and giving both of us a sore back. This set is so comfy for the first few nights....but it has 5 years of wear in a few weeks. Wow. Now don't know what set to trust as a replacement. Sam's has been great, though. Stand behind their products.

Mattress is too hard, can't get it returned!!!

This mattress is extremely firm, like sleeping on a board, which is fine if that is what you want. The problem is that if you want to return it, good luck! The mattress was delivered on Jan. 9, and I called on Jan. 15 to return it. I have called on Jan. 15, 22, 24 and 26, and still don't know when anyone will call me to arrange pick up. I called Serta directly and they said Sam's has to put it in the system, and Sam's says they have marked it "code red" and "time sensitive". I'm still waiting for a call. My advice is don't bother.
