Gold Medal Goodness made with this flour

I do a lot of baking. Gold Medal is my favorite go to flour. Everything always turns out delicious. When I need to do something for a pick me up, I bake. That’s my ZEN thing to do. My mother used Gold Medal a lot and I guess I’m following in her footsteps. It is one of the best flours being produced for all of us to use.

Perfect size for my needs

This is a perfect size for those who bake a lot. Not too big that storage is a problem, but still enough for those who enjoy baking and don't want to run to the store every other week.

Flour

I appreciate the large bag of flour. I enjoy baking and it’s great to find a big bag with such a low price. I appreciate the extra value! Holiday baking will be here soon!

Don't settle for the silver or bronze.

I would give this flour a gold medal if I had one sitting around and I was just looking to give it away. My recipe called for flour. This product fit the bill.

The Beat Quality and Taste

This is a reliable brand and staple in the pantry. All Purpose means its most versatile for any recipe that calls for "flour." It's strong enough to make high-rising yeast breads, soft guey cookies, biscotti and even a tender flaky pie crust. Gold Medal was trusted by my grandmother and mom. The quality has always been one you can trust. It's a blend of white hard and soft wheat that has no "after taste" and it lets your flavors and your recipe shine!

Good but recommend checking the flour!

Definitely put in the freezer for 48 hours after buying! We buy this flour almost monthly (I bake and cook from scratch a lot) and 1 bag that we got had the flour bugs in it. BUT I’ve bought probably over 30 bags and will now use the freezer method every time, Or check before leaving the store!

Great Product/Terrible Package

Gold Medal all purpose flour is a reliable baking staple. The value for the price is great. The quality of the product is great. The handling in terms of packaging for shipment was great. However, the traditional paper sack is simply not an appropriate vessel for this quantity of product which finds itself squarely between large commercial quantities of flour that necessitate transfer to other receptacles and the traditional home kitchen five pound bag which fits conveniently inside readily available canisters that can accommodate the entire five pound bag and still fit on a standard home refrigerator door. As it is, this product requires transfer to more than one such five pound storage container because it is not air tight and does not reseal. The only other option is to purchase a still larger air tight container, in which case why not simply buy a 20 pound bag of flour? To be clear, I think this quantity of flour is the perfect home kitchen amount. I’d gladly buy this product again and again and pay more for the privilege simply because few flours are available in this perfect quantity. I’d be positively delighted to do that for decades if only the manufacturer would consider putting this quantity of flour in a plastic resealable bag, which would be significantly more convenient and effective for a home user to store the product after opening. It makes little sense to this consumer that products which are consumed much more rapidly are packaged in plastic resealable containers, yet flour which is a product with a much longer shelf life, one which is prone to infestation if not properly stored and one which most households are never without, has not yet upgraded their packaging to better suit traditional home kitchen consumer usage.

Plastic bag saves flour!

Sure good that the flour was contained in a plastic bag. The paper bag was broken open and flour was spilled into the plastic bag. Sams is wise to put these kinds of product in a plastic bag.

Be careful

I bought this and it must have had flour bugs in it. They ended up in my pantry and I had to throw away food. Thankfully I caught it before there was an infestation but still gross. I have now learned to put things like flour in the freezer when bringing home to prevent this from happening.
