Wow!! On A Nintendo Platform!

The Switch 2 is so much more powerful than Switch 1. This generation is going to be awesome! The screen with HDR is vivid, crisp, smooth, and the colors pop. Now the bezel around the screen is kinda a downside but it is negligible because the screen is so beautiful. The Joy-Con 2s are bigger, thumb sticks are smooth and buttery, buttons are bigger, and more ergonomic. Switch 2 Feels and is a premium console. I play 99% handheld so I wouldn’t have anything to say about Docked mode.

Great new Nintendo console!

The screen is so much larger and clearer than the original Switch and feels more comfortable to hold in handheld. On certain games like Tears of the Kingdom and Pokemon Scarlet the frame rates really improve the movement speed and teaction time of certain actions making it more fun to play for me. Only time will tell how much more awesome this console can get but for now super glad I got one at launch.

Simple yet substantial update over the original

It's a better Nintendo Switch that can play new Nintendo releases and legacy software at higher fidelity. Build quality of the Switch 2 is vastly superior to the Switch 1 and the console is priced fairly competitively considering the hardware under the hood. It's a similar jump in quality from a PS4 to a PS5 but arguably more appealing than that product. Paid less for the Switch 2 than the Steam Deck OLED for a machine with better specs. Main issue is backwards compatibility not being ironed out 100% yet but that's an issue to be fixed over time. The dock is super flimsy and feels worse than the original Switch's dock. Overall solid system despite not reinventing the wheel like Nintendo is known to do with their hardware.

Happy %26 Impressed

Happily impressed from the very first pixel and sound. The LCD screen is very bright and vibrant despite not being an OLED. This choice for supporting variable refresh rate seems smart. Being Nintendo, everything is easy to use and understand as I'd expect. Much different from a windows gaming handheld if you're a mere mortal. While the price may be a concern for some, I don't see it stopping the units from selling out. If you're more on a budget maybe consider an original Switch or other options. I imagine I'll be able to play with others including those on a switch 1 in many games, which will be a nice plus. Switch 2 seems to have been worth the wait.

From a first timer to Nintendo…

This is one of my first Nintendo consoles, and although there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the Switch 2, I personally have really enjoyed my experience with it so far. The new games I’ve played have been really good and the quality of the system is amazing and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has been considering it!

The near perfect upgrade for a phenomenal system.

Great experience purchasing through Walmart.com and the system is everything and more I wanted from a more performance oriented switch. The only thing I would say, and it isn’t a negative, if you had wrist pain problems with the original switch systems, this console does nothing to improve that and is slightly worse due to its overall increased weight.

An impressively unique and long-due upgrade

The unique features such as the built-in mouse and magnetic joycon coupling are no gimmick. The Joycon 3D rumble is still some crazy techno-wizardry that has improved even further. The handheld screen has wide fidelity with a built in screen protector, and the stand on the back of the console actually WORKS now. Forget about putting this in your pocket. Not a big launch line up of games, but a lot of Switch 1 games now run 60fps in 4k on tv, 1080p in handheld. If you're strictly looking for newer games, I'd hold out until the holiday season when supply goes down. As of writing, there's Mario Kart World out and a new Donkey Kong game in the near future with the exception of indie titles. My biggest gripe is that there is no preloaded game that demonstrates the features like PS5's Astrobot. Nintendo has decided that you need to pay extra for that game, which should be the make or break game to warrant a buy or return. Front load your tech demonstration if you want to want to show the ceiling for potential, which this console definitely has.

Just Some Switch 2 Review

Portability is as great as ever with the Switch 2; transitioning from handheld to docked is a snap. So far, in my experience, all my Switch games have been playing just fine on the new system(and I do have a fairly good-sized collection). The new, updated controller feels awesome to use and comfortable to hold, with smooth button pressing and analog stick motion. I thought the magnetic joycons would be a bad idea, but it turns out the attachment is very strong and sturdy, quite easy to remove when wanting to, though. The YouTube app is still available, for anybody wanting to watch videos or listen to music, instead of playing video games for some reason. The only thing Nintendo needs to do now is make it possible for us to download the big-name streaming apps for watching tv shows and movies, then who needs PS or XB? lol

Nice upgrade

Loads faster, games run smooth. Older pro controllers are barely compatible even when updated, if you play on the TV get a new one. I have a top of the line TV and it looks great. No issues, virtual cards and card keys are the future, they take some getting used to, but are nice. I also have a PS5 Pro so those talking about this is not as good, it’s Apples and Oranges, Nintendo was never competing in that arena. People play it for the games.

A Smart, Powerful Evolution of the Hybrid Console

The Nintendo Switch 2 builds smartly on its predecessor’s hybrid formula, offering better performance, a sharper OLED display, and improved battery life. Games load faster thanks to the upgraded processor and SSD-like storage, and the system handles more graphically demanding titles smoothly—even in handheld mode. Backward compatibility with Switch 1 games is a huge win. The Joy-Con redesign adds comfort and reliability, finally addressing drift issues. While it’s still not as powerful as PlayStation or Xbox rivals, the Switch 2 excels in portability, family-friendly gaming, and exclusive Nintendo titles. It’s a worthy upgrade for both new players and longtime fans.
