Power, and Ease for a beginner!!!

I bought this powerwasher a couple months ago. After the first 20 hours I just did my oil change last night and ran it some more. Im a professional detailer, this machine makes my life a lot easier. The engine is so simple, I can do all of the maintenance myself, even if something were to go wrong I KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.

Performed as Eixpected

Just replaced my old system that blew out the pump. Motor was still running fine but the Cat pump was pricy. It lasted over 10 years so I wanted the same Honda motor and Cat pump. The new one was a little stubborn to get started for the first time, but once it started it performed perfectly. I expect to get at least 10 years from this machine to as well. The aluminum frame makes it a bit lighter and smaller which makes it easier to haul around.

Great pressure washer

I used this once and it worked great. There was some spray foam on the tank and spark plug wire that I had to clean off which wasn’t a big deal. I was a little disappointed to see that Honda change country of mfg. on the motor so I’m hoping it’s bulletproof like the old gx motors. Overall I’m pleased and would purchase again

Great upgrade from a homeowner pressure washer

While searching to upgrade from a good homeowner 2400 psi washer to a slightly more powerful pressure washer, sub 4000 psi, there were 2 things the unit had to have. First, a commercial grade Honda engine and a CAT pump. This unit has both. Thre pressure washer was packaged very well and was put together quickly. The first time I used it I was impressed on how much better my surface washer worked on the sidewalks. With my old residential grade unit, the surface washer worked well and I thought it was normal to make several passes to clean. This new Simpson commercial unit paired with my surface washer cleans much faster and I am super happy I chose this unit. Most areas were cleaned with one pass, some with 2 passes with the surface washer. I did have an issue with a wheel almost falling off during my first use of the washer. At first I thought it was missing a washer and e-clip holding on 1 wheel. I contacted customer surface and they promptly returned my email. Rather that play email or phone tag, for under $2 I bought the replacement washer and e-clip. When cutting up the box I found a broken e-clip in the box. Simpson didn't forget the parts upon assembly, the e-clip just broke. I won't blame that on Simpson, rather their supplier of the e-clip, Hopefully, this pressure washer holds up well over the next decade or more like my old unit(which I keep as a back up.)

Powerful enough for my homeowner needs.

Purchased this model mainly for the CAT pump and the Honda engine, the aircraft aluminum frame was a bonus feature that closed the sale. I've only used it for a few hours so time will tell if will be a great long term purchase. The reason for leaving this review is to tell purchasers to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! You MUST attach the garden hose and fill the pump with water by squeezing the handle on the wand until water comes out BEFORE starting the engine. Once you have water in the pump turn the hose down to a low flow then turn the gas on, apply choke then squeeze the handle on the wand again to release the water pressure THEN start the engine and fully open the garden hose to have maximum volume. When done turn the gas off and let the engine burn off the fuel in the carburetor. Don't let ethanol gas sit in the fuel tank longer than 30 days without emptying the gas tank. Old ethanol gas is ruining ALL small engines.

Great machine.....But

I bought this two weeks ago to replace an older less powerful washer and after reading all the previous reviews. It came well packaged but still had a small bend in the frame bottom. Nothing major or worth complaining about, it comes in a box with foam bags around it and is not packaged like if you bought in a store. So after opening it and following the straightforward instructions I noticed that the gun was missing the quick disconnect fitting. The pump and hose has QDs but the gun had a threaded fitting only so I couldn’t attach the hose to it. After a quick call to Customer service problem solved or so I thought. I waited a week and got the part but it was the wrong one. Another call to Customer service and now I’m told it will take 15-17 business days to get the right part in. Customer service was very friendly and courteous both times. So as to avoid looking at my new machine that I can’t use for 3 more weeks I took the right fitting off my other washer to use on this one in the meantime. Works like a champ but like some of the other reviews the nozzle storage is pretty worthless because they keep vibrating out of their slots, and I had a bolt on the base vibrate loose during the first 5 minutes of use. On the plus side this has all the features I wanted a Honda gc200 motor and a CAT triplex AAA pump. Starts and runs beautifully but if I hadn’t had the ability to get the fitting off my other pump I would still be waiting to use it so it only gets 4 stars.

Powerfull and easy to use

Seems quality. I have a couple of things 1. You have to depress the sprayer while trying to start. The pressue won't allow you to crank it. I had to use my foot to hold the washer from moving so I could get a good pull on it. 2. The oil came in a bag and was more than the capacity of the crankcase so I was a little confused. I triple checked to make sure it was full because I had left over oil. 3. The unit does move around a lot. 4. Upon initial starting it took forever for some reason. Was questioning Hondas engine. Side note: Technician told me the engine is made to run on full throttle so set it and leave it. The good The hose is thick and good quality (quick connect) Solid frame and wheels (actual pneumatic) After the initial starting, the engine now starts on first or second pull The various nozzles stay in place with the easy to use holders on top Large tank for fuel, sight glass for pump oil

Nice, well built pressure washer-one small issue.

Received unit on Jan 19th 2019 and it was in great condition. The unit was packed very well with blow molded foam and everything was a tight fit. Instructions for assembly were very clear and it was easy to assemble. I added oil and fuel and gave it a test run. It fired up on the third pull which I expected as it has to get fuel through the lines. Since then, it starts on first choked pull when cold and first unchoked pull when warmed up. The nozzle tips fit firmly in their holes and I have no concern of them vibrating out and getting lost. The hose seems durable but a bit stiff. It has a steel braid so that probably adds to its rigidity. Not a problem using it though. The wand and hose holder seem to work just fine. Pressure on the unit is great and is knocking the grime off bricks and concrete. The only issue I'm having and I don't think it's a big one, is I'm getting a little small backfire/afterfire every once in a while when letting off the trigger. It will also do it occasionally when I shut the unit off. It's very small and I've used others that do it when shutting down. I checked the spark plug gap to be sure I was getting enough spark and it was at a .022in. Honda recommends and .028-.031in. I went ahead and re-gapped just to try it and it didn't really make a noticeable difference. However, I can idle it down just a hair (not enough to make a difference in the sound of the engine hardly) and it won't do it nearly as often. Maybe it just needs some break-in time as I've only used it for about 3hrs. I'm going to run it for a few tanks of gas before I try to make any carb adjustments if I make any at all. If anyone has input I'd love to hear it. Also I'm running 93 octane ethanol free fuel. Overall I think the unit is great and at 3400PSI and 2.5gal this should be all I ever need. With the Honda engine and the CAT Triplex pump it should last 15+ years with my usage. I've started on my driveway and have about 20 brick columns that surround my property to do. I'll be cleaning them and the house every year. I have no doubt that it will get the job done. The Simpson Surface cleaner is a must if you're going to be cleaning patios and driveways.

Except for shipping glitches. Great pressure washe

I bought this pressure washer about three weeks ago. It came in about 4 days which was pretty fast. Why it arrived the box it came in was all beat up. It only had one pi ce of tape across the top and bottom. The plastic on the pressure washer gun was broke and the wand bent. And it was missing one of the rubber foot. I called water cannon where I bought it and told them about it but they could care less. ( I will never buy anything from them again). So I called customer service at Simpson and they were very nice. They sent the parts out in three days. As for the pressure washer I have used it theee times, it is amazing. A lot of power and starts on the first pull. The Cat and Honda engine are awesome. If it wasn't for the packaging issues I would have given this pressure washer five stars. Simpson needs to look into their shipping department. All in all it is worth the money.

Great Choice after lots of Research & Reviews

Great choice. I have owned several pressure washers in the past and I am very familiar with many of the choices out there. Simpson really is the industry leader. After much research and reviews it was an easy choice. Honda motor, CAT pump. Pricy, but will give you great service and will last with proper maintenance. Other washers will work, but he pumps burn out or the engines develop problems. This is the real deal. The next decision is how much pressure & flow do you need. For residential use the 3400 psi & 2.5 gpm were plenty. I also wanted the aluminum chassis so that I could lift it into the back of the car by myself. The Dewalts get very heavy. This is only 74 lbs. Works great for home use (Boats, Cars, Driveway, Garage, Siding, Sidewalks). Add a turbo nozzle & floor cleaner. Good luck!
