Stability

These tires changed the entire feel of our mini-van. Three years ago we tried to improve the ride when bought another brand. After getting an alignment and front-end work, the car still pulled left and right. With the new Michelins, it no longer pulls, is much quieter, and holds the road regardless of weather. We've decided to keep the car, and always use Michelins.

Sticks to the Road Like a Tongue to Ice

I put these snow tires on my Accord, and I have to say, they are the best I've found yet. I'm admittedly a bit of a fast driver despite the weather and I always feel secure and firmly attached to the road with my Xice Xi2's. Almost like a tongue to a metal pole on an icy February morning. My only complaint is that they sometimes take a second to grip when starting from a stop. And the gas mileage isn't what you'd get with all seasons, but it's a more than fair trade for the added grip and piece of mind.

2nd set of Defenders--excellent tires

We replaced the Michelin Latitude tires on our 2010 Acura MDX with Defender LTX tires last year and have been pleased with the ride and performance. We just purchased a second set of Defender 2 tires for our 2013 Acura TSX wagon to replace a set of IronMan tires that were failing at 18k miles. What a difference! The improvement in ride quality and fuel economy is noticeable. I drive over 400 miles a week and these tires are rated for 80k miles--I expect to have them for a long time.

A smooth ride

I bought the X-ice tires for my morning commute to work . I was very hesitant to drive on ice as I was used to my grippy studded tires and thought that without studs I wouldn't feel as confident driving down the slick roads. I have done fine with my new tires. My one concern is that I won't get as many miles on these tires as I've heard they wear out faster than the average tire.

Don't expect good MPG

I decided on Defender 2s for my 2017 Acura TLX V6. I live in Florida but occasionally drive north in the winter. The tires are very quiet. The handling of the car is exception. These two aspects get 5 stars. What I have found that my mileage has decreased about 20 to 25%. I need to fill up after 300 miles instead of the 400 miles on the OEM tires.

Carl, thank you for providing feedback on your experience with Defender2 tires. New tires having full tread depth will have more grip and rolling resistance in comparison to worn tires.  As the new tires wear, the rolling resistance decreases.  Over the life of the tires, all things being equal, the fuel efficiency should improve.

MUCH BETTER THEN THE X-ICE XI2'S

i got a set of this tires for my 2006 cobalt LS manual 5sp(no traction control or stability control thank goodness!!!) and i couldn't believe how well they did in every winter condition mother nature could throw at me here in alaska. great tread life because i've used them for 5 season but this year i had to use them as my summer tires since my summer tires were worn out now after 5 years and they did very well as a summer tire. being in the warmer weather and dry pavement for a whole summer they didnt do as well in the winter i believe it has something to do with the compound and the warmer pavement driving. the only perk i didnt like but it was expected was the but on the melting ice it did ok but not as well as like studs since studs dig instead of grab the surface of the terrain and on melted ice there isn't much to grab a hold to. i've converted to the x-ice xi2's this year and i was a bit disappointed they aren't as good on the deep/shallow/packed snow as the original x-ice's but still a good tire....i've had yet to see how the newer x-ice xi2's on the melting ice but from what i've learned about them they should do better then the x-ice's.

Great performance

The factory Yokohama tires on my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek were fair at best. They had a decent ride BUT they did not even make it to 36,000 miles (which is not acceptable!). I bought the Michelin Defender 2 tires and I am exceedingly pleased with the results. The Michelin Defender 2's (along with a wheel alignment) have made a significant difference in the overall quality and performance of the ride. Tight on the corners and overall smooth and quiet. The Michelin Defender 2's are noticeably quieter and hug the road smoother. From now on I will only be driving on Michelin tires. Also, they have an 80,000 mile warranty. I drive in all kinds of weather conditions and thus far they have exceeded my expectations in all respects. Great job Michelin you have made a lifetime customer out of me.

My tire.

I have been driving on michelin tires for 20 years now. I will always be driving on michelin tires. I have been driving now for over 50 years and on many other tire brands as well but michelin tires will always be on my vehicles now. Great company to deal with if you have an issue.

Will buy again and again

What a difference these made on our old Caravan! Just be careful, the roads weren't always as good as they felt. Others still can't stop or go like you. So impressed with them I bought them for my Grand Cherokee too. Just bought a Town and Country, I will be trying the new Xi3's when winter gets here.

They Work

We live in the Black Hills of SD and thus have to contend with a lot of snow/ice during most winters. I wanted a winter tire that gives excellent traction on snow covered icy roads yet has good dry condition characteristics. These Michelin X-Ice tires are exactly what my wife needed on her car.
