Purchased these tiers for my daughter's car for her first winter driving experience. She had only been driving 6 months. I was very impressed with how sticky the winter compound was on ice patches and packed snow. We had a few big storms in Wisconsin this past winter and the tires worked great in the deep snow before the plows hit the side roads. I am very happy that she had a safe first winter as a young driver, and I think these tires played a role in her safety. I bought the Michelin Defender 2 with a $100 rebate in March 2023. Changed over to Michelin X-Ice for the winter. I highly recommend the Defender 2. It handled well and is very quiet. I've just changed back from the X-Ice to the Defender 2 so this will be my second summer on these tires. I'm sure they will be great all spring, summer and fall.

With these tires on my front-wheel drive Lexus, I was able to safely and without skidding go right by other cars that could get no traction or were sliding off to the edge of the road. It has happed more than once in the Utah mountain pass I use to get to work and back; if you take it slow, you can get through almost any icy conditions with these wonderful tires.

These tires have changed the way my 25 Crosstrek drives. I love how smooth and quiet my ride is now. Have not had a chance to test on wet roads yet. But I would certainly recommend these tires. I have always gone with Michelin on all of my vehicles and the Defender 2 did not disappoint.

I have loved and appreciated ALL the sets of Michelin tires I have had, and I have had many over the years. My all time favorite are my X-Ices for the simple fact that they WORK. I change into them in November, and out of them in April. I feel 100% confident driving on frost, ice, snow, compact snow and in the rain. And, believe me I used to be a total white knuckle whimp driving in the winter. Now I go anywhere and everywhere, confident and relaxed. I always recommend Michelin tires to my family, friends and even casual aquaintances. I just wish more of them would give them a try so they too could exprerience the luxury of driving on the best.

The x ice tire offers great stopping qualities on slippery roads and superb traction in snow & ice. On slippery roads the handling is greatly improved over other tires with very little drift. Each new x- ice tire that comes out is better the the previous. I will always be a good advertisement for Michelin products!

Overall these are good tires. They handle well and are wearing well. They don't grip as well as similar snow tires I have used in snow deeper than a few inches. The tread is not very deep likely contributing to this deficiency. But, the tires work well on ice, have a quiet and comfortable ride and handle very well on and wet roads.

This year, it was time to buy new tires for my Honda CR-V 2018. I researched a lot and came to the idea that Michelin Defender 2 is the best choice. I bought them and I could not believe how fantastic they are. Defender 2 is very quiet and comfortable on both highways and roads. In addition to comfort which was my first priority, they are excellent at handling and maintaining vehicle stability, even compare to the factory-installed tires which were not Michelin. I realized why Michelin is the number 1 brand trie in the world. As a friendly reminder, tire is the most important part of a vehicle and they must be the best. Spend your money wisely, buy Michelin, and enjoy your everyday ride. I never go with any other brands. I highly recommend Defender 2. Rest assured you will never regret your purchase.

3 weeks before our first Colorado major winter storm, i had a set of Defender2 tires put on. Our first storm, over 5 days, was over 40" of snow, which then turned into several inches of ice. I have a very steep driveway and with my previous tires, I slid at every inch of snow we received (I have a 2023 KIA Sorento 4WD). Not only was I able to drive up my driveway without any trouble, but when I came back, I easily drove down the driveway without the ABS kicking in. These tires are amazing. Please thank the engineers. I have been driving for 64 years and have never had an experience so spectacular. Thank you all!

These tires worked well this past winter and after 8000 miles show very little wear. There was never much snow to test them out in so I can't rate that. On the ice they got me home fine but I feel a studded tire would have been better, however because these are on an everyday commuter car studs dont make sense.
