I like the idea and the execution of this set. The pink frogs were a pleasant surprise when I opened the package. It was definitely a little bit scary to build this with all the tiny and free parts (the "soil" and frogs/flowers) when two cats are watching. The only complaint I have is the repetitiveness of the leaves/flowers but it is expected.

I got hooked on the Lego Masters TV show and decided to try out building my own project. I love gardening and have several bonsai trees, so this fit right into my collection! The instructions were easy to follow (especially for a beginner) and it was a very relaxing build. I ended up choosing the Spring theme because of the creative details (I appreciated the notes about each part in the instructions as well). I will definitely be back for more of the botanical collection! 10/10 would recommend.

I am a 43 year old grandmother and thought this was the coolest lego set considering I loved playing with legos as a kid and LOVE bonsai trees. Hours of fun and a great conversation piece when everyone finds out it is legos!

Love this Lego set. Can't decide on which I like better, the green leaves or pink frogs. I may mix the two or just swap every so often. Not super skilled in Legos. I'm really just starting out with Lego (discovered the enjoyment of building while playing with my kids) but it was an easy build for me. Can't wait to start getting into the bigger sets.

I just finished putting together the Lego grand piano. A magnificent piece. I Liked the look of the bonsai tree and the meaning of the bonsai tree, so I bought one for myself and two for good friends. I put mine together first and what an absolutely horrible experience. The neck of the tree is not strong enough to hold it. It kept falling apart every time I would try to add the branches then they would fall off and crumble as well as the back of the tree trunk. I. finally had to resort to something absolutely horrific in Lego world , gluing it together so that it would stay put. I immediately called my friends and told them not to even touch the box. It was going to be returned. I’m sure they’ll be even more frustrated than I was.

This set is gorgeous and fun to build/ play with. However, the trunk isn’t very stable and falls apart when you try to put the branches on or change them out. I seem to have fixed some of this by removing a root and moving a sloped curve piece up to help better secure the trunk. However it was sad to give up the look of the root and leave two studs at the bottom of the model uncovered. However, the side pieces continue to fall off easily. Still a gorgeous set, but I am amazed this passed internal stability testing. Do mirror some of the other comments on reviews. Some panels are dark and hard to read. Also found it easiest to mass produce leaf assemblies then attach them to the armatures.

Unbearably awful set. 30 years of building legos and I’ve never wanted to throw a set away before finishing it. This is absolute trash. The tree is not sturdy and constantly collapses when finishing. The pointless pebble looking things are put in as the 3rd step, so trying to constantly put the tree back together causes the pebbles to fall everywhere. I cannot believe I wasted my money on this. This thing is supposed to be zen but all it causes is stress. I hate it. The 5 star reviews are bots.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to get my own Lego set instead of a kids set. This set didn’t disappoint. The instructions are easy to follow and the parts are separated in numbered bags. I love that you can either have a green leave bonsai or pink flowers. I chose pink but it will be simple to change it to green when I want. This set took me about 2 hours to construct with interruptions. I do help put Lego together regularly with my kids so I have experience. And the best thing yet, the tool this set comes with to separate pieces put together incorrectly is a life saver. First set I’ve ever had it come with. I will be buying more of these adult sets. This tree looks so pretty on my dresser.

This set is very pretty overall, but I have a couple of issues with the set. First, the trunk keeps coming apart. The construction isn't as sturdy as it could be to support the upper branches. As I attached the branches, the trunk kept needing re-building, or the side panels slipped off. It is VERY annoying. Second, I hate the pink frogs. I do not understand this choice. They do add some "texture" to the design, but why couldn't there be some paler pink flowers to add depth to the design? I am digging through my legos to find substitutions. I have been using a few pale pink dots and some of the pink cupcake swirls are passable as substitues. It really just needed two shades of pink flowers. The green leaves will be fine, but the pink version could use some improvement.

It's a lot smaller than I thought, especially for how much it costs. I was under the impression that it'd be two separate trees, but it was just one tree that you could switch between green leave and the pink ones. All in all, if I had known this prior to purchasing, I wouldn't have gotten it.
